East London Printmakers is a not-for-profit, artist run studio based in Mile End. Our aim is to provide professional and affordable printmaking facilities for artists and designers and to create opportunities for them to discuss and exhibit their work. We offer Open Access for screen printing on paper and fabric, etching and relief and run a variety of courses and residency schemes. East London Printmakers supports forty-seven key-holders, represents over 250 Supporters and attracts over one thousand visitors annually.

Cut Editions is a silk-screen printmaking studio specialising in the production of limited edition original artist prints. Established in 2017 by Ni and Ben Gooding, the print studio is based in The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth, Suffolk. Originally a Victorian Maltings, the building is now home to a theatre, gallery, arts cinema and cafe and has a prestigious cultural programme. Situated on the ground floor, Cut Editions aims to collaborate with artists and designers who wish to make original prints. Artists do not have to have any previous knowledge or experience of the screen printing process. We are here to guide you through every stage. We will give as much or as little help and advice as required. We are able to make editions for artists or artists are welcome to book time in the studio in order to produce work for themselves under our technical supervision. Cut Editions offers screen printing courses and workshops aimed at beginners and the more experienced print-maker. Classes are small and designed to be enjoyable and affordable. Ben Gooding is an artist based in London. He has a 1st class Honours Degree in Fine Art (Printmaking) from the Cambridge School of Art and an MA in Fine Art from Central St. Martin's College of Art and Design. He has since been living and working in London. Alongside his own practice, he teaches printmaking at Camberwell College of Art and is a contributor to Saturation Point Projects.

Screen printing is a traditional print process that uses stencils to build up an image. The stencil is attached to a screen - a finely woven mesh attached to a frame. The image is printed by drawing a squeegee at pressure across the screen, pushing ink through the mesh onto paper in those areas not covered by the stencil. There are different ways of making stencils for screen print; the most basic are papercuts, but a more sophisticated technique uses a photostencil: the screen is coated with a light sensitive emulsion and the artwork is exposed onto it. This process allows greater detail than paper stencils, and enables photographic images and text to be used. For each colour to be printed, a separate piece of artwork needs to be created. About the studio and equipment My studio is part of Centrespace Co-operative, a block of 31 workshops and studios that also manage the adjoining Centrespace Gallery. Centrespace, formerly known as Bristol Craft Centre, took over the building, a former print works in 1977. My own studio is a light and airy space of two rooms with an additional wet room for washing out screens. One room houses the print equipment and one is for design and drawing work. The print room uses a self built exposure unit, and includes three printing stations (one tabletop setup and two vacuum beds), and marble racks for drying prints. The drawing room includes desk space for three people and a large lightbox. About the tutor Simon studied painting at Portsmouth Polytechnic and printmaking at Chelsea College of Art, where he received the British Instuition Fund for Printmaking Award. He worked in London for over a decade as a scenic painter and muralist before moving to Bristol in 2002. He holds a PGCE in Post-compulsory Education and has been teaching screen printing to all ages and abilities for over a decade. He exhibits his work regularly. The Arienas Collective is a creative workshop hub based in a beautiful, Georgian mews home in Edinburgh's historic New Town. The Collective was set up to help local artists and makers earn a living through sharing their creative skills and passions with others. Its name comes from Loch Arienas, a beautiful and remote spot in the Morvern area of the Scottish Highlands. We believe that engaging in creative activity is good for our health and wellbeing. Our workshops suit beginners, returners and those who want to challenge their own creative practice. Group sizes are kept small, so that our artists and makers can give you the help and support you need to get the most from your experience. Lorna Brown is a contemporary textile designer and fine art screen printer living and working in Edinburgh. B.U. designs often have a beautifully complex, layered patina creating colorful, expressive designs that are transformed through screen printing and digital processes into home wear, accessories and artworks. Lorna’s considered, process driven craftsmanship expresses her mindful, immersive placement printing style. Blessed Unrest prints are an antidote to mass production and aimed at people looking for something unique and exclusive. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Lorna was awarded a 1st class Hons Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Printed Textile Design. She also hold a City and Guilds Adult and Further Education teaching qualification. Lorna values the sharing of knowledge and skills with others and has delivered and facilitated art and design projects for many years in community, FE and HE. Working with others to expand her practice, find design solutions and research new processes are important factors in Blessed Unrest's creation process. Lorna has been involved in many exciting projects and continues to pursue new connections, support collaborations and undertake commissions. Opening in 2023 INK on MESH- Community Access Print Studio is to become a new exciting teaching space and home to the Blessed Unrest brand.

'm Sophie, the founder of Ink & Bear and I'm obsessed with creativity! I've been printmaking (mostly screen printing!) for nearly 17 years and I love teaching people creative techniques such as printmaking and collage and particularly love working with people who are feeling a little rusty creatively! Hello my name is Sarina Mantle and i am a visual artist from London and i am an author of a colouring book called Women + Patterns + Plants. I am also a mother, (vocalist-poet-songwriter aka Sarina Leah) and I founded Wildsuga in 2008. I have been exploring Digital + handrawn illustrations, surface design ranging from screen printing, hand block printing & other disciplines such as painting, sewing, pattern cutting & Jewellery design as a way to inspire the home, body and mind. My BA Degree in Fashion Design originally set me on the path of clothing however over the years through the practice of different art forms i approach what i create as mix medium “Holistic Art Pieces” which are sacred and beautiful and remind us of the cosmic & natural world wether its a print, clothing or music my intention is to reconnect to the scared & mystical self. I incorporate patterns, florals, sacred geometry, intuitive tribal and ancient visuals. All pieces are tailored for Woman, baby and home and I have the pleasure of running a varied mix of creative workshops for toddlers, children and adults in London.

GOOD STUDIO is a risograph print and design studio based in Brixton obsessed with all things print related and RISO particular. Risograph printing has a unique aesthetic invented in 80s Japan as a duplicator for schools and offices, it mimics the screen printing process using brightly coloured eco friendly soy based inks.  GOOD STUDIO was set up by artist Joanna Brinton in 2018 with the intention of promoting conversation and exchange via Riso printing. The studio host regular open access workshops and introductory sessions to introduce others to this fascinating process.  Joanna has a BA Fine Art Degree from Central St Martins College and a Masters in Book Arts from Camberwell College of Arts and over twenty years of practice in printmaking and book design.

For Every Cloud was established by Donna Vale in 2013, a creative venue based in Langport, a small town in the heart of the Somerset levels. Having graduated with a first class honors degree in art and textiles I wanted to create a space where people can learn, have fun, relax and make friends, this is really important but I also wanted an environment where visitors wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. My business mission statement ‘where friendship and creativity meet’ sums up the ethos of what we do at For Every Cloud. A shop and gallery stocking local art and craft features alongside my own. Workshops are held in the gallery space and studio, which is also used to teach screen printing. Both spaces can be hired by tutors and artists alike utilising their skills to teach popular classes such as needle felting. The workshop list is varied and attracts people from as far as London, France and Denmark who come with friends and family to stay in this beautiful part of the country, booking days to make and take… and of course have tea and cake. From experimental textiles to bookbinding, etching with Perspex to calligraphy, there is something here for everyone. I work alongside local B&B’s and cafes to provide an all round experience, offering bespoke events for hen parties, corporate functions and children’s birthdays and more recently, a summer school for adults. As well as workshops I create bespoke calligraphy and stationery for weddings, sublimation printing for personalised gifts. A signmaking service is also available for all your business and personal needs. Whether you need a new shop front or graphics for your vehicle, we are happy to help with the design and installation.
