Following a joint venture in setting up a local SEN parents' group in 2002, Claire joined IPSEA, a renowned national charity, as a volunteer telephone advisor and later a Tribunal Support Service Representative. Claire says: “One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the fundamental importance of using the law to secure, and if necessary, enforce rights to ensure that children and young people receive the special educational provision they are entitled to. I have been privileged to advise and support many families over the years and I am incredibly passionate about children and young people with SEND receiving the education they are entitled to”. Jackdaw Education was founded in 2020 by Jennifer Caligari, a qualified secondary maths specialist with two decades’ experience in teaching and tutoring. Jennifer has been Deputy Head of Faculty in a mainstream comprehensive school, and examines for a number of exam boards. She has a particular interest in working with students with additional needs and experience with students who have dyscalculia, ASD, hearing impairments, SEMH, and specific learning difficulties, most latterly as Head of Department in a specialist SEN secondary school. All Jackdaw tutors have excellent subject knowledge, and are friendly, warm and engaging. The Kiddibops team, with the help of their assistant Bramble Bunny, use singing, rhymes, movement, child led music-play, free-flow and directed instrument play in all Kiddibops sessions. Kiddibops classes include a variety of activities that use music from different times, genres and cultures. Our sessions are sensory, but not over-stimulating. We only use simple songs to allow children to develop them at home in their private play, thus supporting deeper learning and transformative skills. All sessions have a clear structure to ensure little ones feel safe and confident so they get the most out of their experience. We are all about building genuine relationships with our children and respecting them as articulate musical beings. Rachel and the team keep up to date with new research relating to music-play, music practice and early learning development. Kiddibops is passionate about using music to develop social interaction and communication skills and delivers bespoke intervention sessions to support children with SEN. Music is a significantly important tool in connecting with children who are non or pre-verbal and allows children with limited speech and language skills a way to communicate and express themselves using music as a protolanguage. Kiddibops is also a Dementia Friend and runs popular and successful Intergenerational Music Classes in local residential homes to support well-being and cognition in dementia patients. These classes also encourage the growth of beautiful relationships between residents and local families.

We promote equality and inclusion and break the stigma of autism through training for parents/ carers and professionals and events for autistic children. The founder and director is Aleksandra Malanska, a qualified teacher, autism consultant, mindfulness practitioner and trainer, with 25 years of experience in education including SEN. Aleksandra completed post graduate studies in Autism and is trained in various interventions including LEGO Therapy, Mindfulness, Low Arousal Approach,Therapeutic Art, Intensive Interaction that she individualises to an autistic person. She is also Mental Health First Aider and a certified Mindfulness Teacher. She strongly believes that raising awareness and education can change people's attitudes and approach and passionately deliveres training for parents and professionals.
