Swindon

At Swindon Borough Council, we are committed to delivering for our residents, local businesses and communities. Our services provide a lifeline and safety net to residents who need us most through the vital care and support we provide. These services directly benefit a relatively small number of residents yet demand the majority of our funding. But, by squeezing the most from our resources, we continue to provide services for the whole community including waste and recycling collections, road repairs and libraries. As well as providing a vast range of public services, we are using our legal powers, assets, access to targeted funding, local knowledge and influence to lay the foundations for Swindon to thrive in the future. Bringing together partners from across the private, public and voluntary sectors to improve the quality of life for residents. Working across education, health, crime, the local economy and climate change. We are ambitious for the town, realistic about the challenges but excited for the future. We’re acting now to meet the needs of Swindon’s growing population: building new homes, creating new school places, upgrading roads and enhancing our country parks while also working to revitalise the town centre with £100 million of Council-led investment. We have a clear vision for how we see Swindon developing in the future: By 2030, Swindon will have all of the positive characteristics of a British city with one of the UK’s most successful economies; a low-carbon environment with compelling cultural, retail and leisure opportunities and excellent infrastructure. It will be a model of well managed housing growth which supports and improves new and existing communities. Swindon will be physically transformed with existing heritage and landmarks complemented by new ones that people who live, work and visit here will recognise and admire. It will remain, at heart, a place of fairness and opportunity where people can aspire to and achieve prosperity, supported by strong civic and community leadership. None of this is possible if we don’t live within our means. That’s why our Council Plan sets out our clear priorities to make best use of our resources and how we will achieve our ambitious vision. We have committed to six key priorities which the Council will focus on over the next four years. These set out how we intend to provide services to residents and set key milestones to achieving our aims. We are in the process of developing a new reporting system that will allow you to monitor our progress against each pledge.

Inspiring Futures Through Learning

inspiring futures through learning

A message from Sarah Bennett, IFtL CEO I know every CEO is proud of their Trust, their schools, the staff and the pupils within it…..and I am no exception. I know every CEO feels their Trust is unique, that their USP is different from every other; and they have a WOW factor that exceeds all. I am absolutely no exception to that either! I am personally so proud of the journey we have travelled and what we have achieved to date - created by people with a genuine desire: ‘To inspire the futures of us all through learning together’ We formed Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) in 2016 as a natural extension of our school improvement journey. Indeed, for over twenty years our founding school, Two Mile Ash School had worked with very secure, high-quality partners in their ITT School-Based Partnership, supporting newly formed Trusts in turning schools in difficulty around and created our CPD programme to support the development of leadership and continual professional development both locally and nationally. There was a very strong track record of school improvement led by high performing leaders who shared a common vision. Developing a Multi-Academy Trust with like-minded schools and their leaders meant that our vision could circulate further, ensure the impact of our work reached out to more children and more staff benefited from high-quality development and learning from each other. Since 2016 we have achieved great success. We can quantify our success in Ofsted reports, performance data, financial spreadsheets and our recruitment and retention figures. However, most importantly to note is that we can only achieve such success because of our culture and ethos. It is our more qualitative success that makes IFtL truly unique. We are a strong family, with different personalities and differing abilities but we have the golden thread that pulls us together - a belief that we are stronger together; that we will go that extra mile for each other and support each other when things aren’t going the way we want them to. The camaraderie is second to none as our school improvement system is strongly embedded in our schools as we use the skills and expertise to support each other. There is nothing new about a self-sustaining school improvement system – but the way we do it is unique to us and something that we are extremely proud of. Indeed, IFtL is all about the people: the adults and the children. Our values set us apart:

Who we are and what we do Established in 1999, Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership (SLLP) is a registered Charity. Each year we help between 600 and 800 people return to learn to gain new skills, qualifications and employment. We rely on a mix of income streams, including generating funds through our Bike Project social enterprise and securing grant funding for projects. Our vision: All within Surrey have the opportunity to re-engage in learning throughout their lives. Our mission: To work with partners to ensure that those, in Surrey and beyond, who have missed out on learning in the past, have opportunities to learn and to reach their full potential. What we offer: Opportunities for more people to learn by providing courses locally. Ongoing support so that they are able to continue on their learning journey. Approaches to learning which are more attractive and accessible. A shared understanding of local learning needs among education and training providers. A positive influence over the policies and planning to meet local learning needs and wants. Who do we support: Those living within disadvantaged communities in Surrey and other parts of the South-East. Adults (19+) of all ages who wish to develop new skills to gain employment, to improve their health or well-being, or to develop new interests. Young people aged 14-19 where these are not already being catered for. Out trustees: Anne Rouse, Chair Martin Bridge Sue Hackman Maureen Kilminster Hans Weijman

EFT Course UK Online Zoom Live

EFT Tapping, otherwise known as EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques, is based upon the EFT that is used in the EFT scientific research, so you know the results will be reliable. This form of EFT includes the tapping points, an integral part of the EFT that is known and loved by so many tappers. Everyone deserves to have EFT Tapping available to them. The Energy Practitioners Association aims to bring EFT Tapping to the mainstream in the UK. This can only be done by approval from both the health and education departments. Many other modalities have already achieved this, such as the Energy modality of Reiki, now not only recognised but also supported by many insurance schemes and company wellness schemes. When you learn an EFT course as a practitioner, you want proper recognition. This is our mission with EFT Tapping in the UK. Our vision is to spread EFT Tapping far and wide, in a way that is accepted at all levels. When you do an EFT course with an Energy Practitioners Association trainer, you get the training that you need to be recognised once the recognition process is complete. This costs an initial 16000, and we are working hard at raising it. With every membership fee, we get closer to this goal. Every step along the way matters. And you matter. Which is why we exist. To serve you and those you care for. We don’t keep changing what EFT entails, we don’t do cheap recorded online practitioner courses (a good course includes watching you grow and develop with EFT in class, do EFT on others, and proper supervision), and we don’t cut corners. Some of our trainers work mainly or purely on Zoom, others work mainly or purely in-person. All of our trainers are responsibly trained to the highest standards. Our standards. Enjoy a course with us, whether for individual or practitioner use. You deserve a good EFT course!
