Access Control
An effective Access Control System can form an integral part of an effective security system. At Hi-Tech Training our course is designed to give participants a practical knowledge of the operation and installation of Access Control Systems.
Our experience has taught us that in order to gain the required skills an installer needs to learn through as much practical training as possible. This course involves 50% “Hands-On” training which involves building, setting up, testing and troubleshooting faults using core elements of modern Access Control Systems.
At the end of the course, an interested and hardworking participant will have a good solid foundation of knowledge of what access control is all about.
Aim
This practically based Access Control course is designed to give participants a practical knowledge of the operation and installation of Access Control Systems at a foundation level. Each module of the training program is backed up by practical exercises, demonstrations and course materials.
These training methods give the participant a greater grasp of the practical aspects of the industry and provide them with the “Hands-On” experience and confidence which are so essential for success.
Duration and Schedule
Hi-Tech Training Access Control Course. Next course commencing Tuesday 19th November at 7.00pm (Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7-10pm) on Zoom for 2 weeks, then last day in centre on Saturday 7th December (10am–5pm). 
A payment of £65 secures your place on your chosen course. The balance of the course fees of £600 can be paid shortly before course commencement.



Online Virtual Classroom – how it works?
The course will be delivered through blended training consisting of 4 online virtual classroom sessions commencing on Tuesday 19th November at 7.00pm. (Tuesdays and Thursdays 7pm-10pm). The last session will involve the additional practical work for the course as well as the written examination and practical assessments which will take place at our training centre at 43 North Great Georges Street, Dublin 1 on Saturday 7th December (10am-5pm). (completed online for non ROI learners).
During the virtual classroom sessions, Trainees will have a live video feed with their instructor talking to them, doing practical live demonstrations on equipment being involved actively in the learning.
We will send out a practical kit so that trainees can complete assignments and practical work at home. The kit is the property of Hi-Tech Training and will be returned to Hi-Tech Training on the last day of the course.

The kit consists of a multimeter, connectors, components including resistors, diodes, fuses and security cable, electric locks (maglock and electric strike), access control keypad door control unit, emergency egress button, exit button, and power supply unit, Trainees will build various projects as part of the course.
The kit forms an integral part of the course, so full course fees need to be paid at least 7 days prior to course commencement to allow time to ship the kit in time for the course.
* If attending the course from outside of Ireland the course practical training kit must be purchased via our online shop in time for delivery before course commencement. The equipment will then remain the property of the trainee.
In preparation for each course, we have a quick informal free 1h online meeting approx 7 days prior to course commencement to make sure that trainees get connected through Zoom properly, let them know what the virtual classroom will be like and go through any questions they may have. To join the virtual sessions, you will need a PC/Laptop or Tablet with an internet connection. Joining instructions (login IDs, etc.) will be sent before the Informal Induction session.

An effective Access Control System can form an integral part of an effective security system. At Hi-Tech Training our course is designed to give participants a practical knowledge of the operation and installation of Access Control Systems.

Our experience has taught us that in order to gain the required skills an installer needs to learn through as much practical training as possible. This course involves 50% “Hands-On” training which involves building, setting up, testing and troubleshooting faults using core elements of modern Access Control Systems.

At the end of the course, an interested and hardworking participant will have a good solid foundation of knowledge of what access control is all about.

Drawing blood from back of hand. Drawing blood from lower limb veins. Managing the unwilling or difficult patient. Managing the psychiatric patient. Managing the isolated patient. M08 - Special Tests and Sample Handling Procedures:
A look at sample collection at specific times of day and night,
samples that are protected from light, collected on ice and
collected at body temperature. Procedures for each group - collection notes, analytic time, optimal collection time and notes for each group.
M09 - Advanced Phlebotomy Tasks:
Additional procedures. Maintaining POC equipment. Stock control and stock rotation. Quality control. Data entry. Product evaluation. Training and competency evaluation.
M10 - Alternative Environments:
A step-by-step look at non-clinical phlebotomy environments including private testing, DEFRA, forensic and police, cord blood collection, DNA analysis, veterinary services, overseas and volunteering.

2 - Syringe and Needle (open system): Correct use and applications.
3 - Monovette (open and closed systems):
Using the Monovette system in aspiration mode - correct use and applications.
Using the Monovette system in evacuated mode - correct use and applications.
4 - IR Vein Detector:
Demonstration of the IR vein detector for assisting in detection of difficult veins.
5 - Veins in back of hand:
Detecting suitable veins in the back of the hand.
6 - POC testing:
Point of Care Testing - use of glucose meter to demonstrate a typical POC test procedure. Correct use and overview of other POC test devices.
7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.
8 - Using lancets (heel collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).
9 - Capillary collection
Using glass capillary tubes for micro-collection. Correct use and handling.
10 - Microtube collection
Correct use of BD Microtainers (and similar micro-collection bottles) - collection and handling.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. Peer Supervision.

This official BRCGS course enables participants with an in-depth understanding of the Standard in terms of the protocol, requirements and how to audit effectively. Participants will gain competency to assess compliance to the requirements of the Standard, including fundamental clauses, statements of intent, how to undertake a BRCGS audit, planning of the audit and reporting of the audit. Auditing fundamentals and techniques will be discussed including the auditor competency skills required of auditors auditing against Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification programmes.Active learning will be used throughout the course utilising case study-based activities to encourage critical thinking and help explain how auditors with audit against the Standard. &nbsp;Participants must have a working knowledge of quality management systems and auditing within the relevant manufacturing sector, and have completed a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) course of at least two days&#39; duration.In preparation for the course, participants must read and review a copy of the Standard including the glossary, which is available as a free download from the <a href="https://www.brcgs.com/store/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" style="color: inherit; -webkit-user-select: auto; font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box; cursor: pointer; text-decoration: inherit;" fr-original-style=" color: inherit;">BRCGS Store</a>, in addition to the pre-course materials provided.&nbsp;At the end of the course you will be assessed with an exam.
