Whenever we welcome new visitors into The Samworth Church Academy, they very often comment on the sense of positivity, energy and general friendliness you feel as soon as you enter the building. Our Academy is a special place which is only confirmed when you meet with our young people and the staff that support them. Lisa McVeigh The Academy was established in 2008 by joint sponsors Sir David Samworth and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Their vision was to create an inclusive place where people and students come first and where students can be educated holistically as well as academically and leave prepared for a long and happy adult life – 70 plus great years. Our emphasis and exploration of our Christian values, as well as our membership of the international Round Square organisation, encourages students to ‘Be The Best They Can Be’ and to explore their own (perhaps hidden) talents and potential in a wide range of ways. Our beautiful and lovingly cared for campus houses a range of sometimes unexpected facilities including a climbing wall, high ropes course, Dance Studio and Drama Pod, a Combined Cadet Force, a fully functioning hairdressing salon and well populated animal care unit. We are also committed to delivering the best academic education we can for our young people and to training and supporting our teachers to be the best and most innovative teachers they can be. Our teaching facilities are modern and well-equipped and we are always looking for ways to improve them further. We are very proud of what has been achieved by our fantastic young people in the past and excited at the limitless potential of current and future students. he Welsh School of Homeopathy was founded in 1995. The School is recognised by the Society of Homeopaths. It is located in the centre of Carmarthen, by the castle grounds. The building comprises of two teaching rooms, a clinic room, a library and computer room, kitchen and toilet facilities, plus a shop front and waiting area. There are plenty of nearby bed and breakfast facilities and a nearby car park, plus many eating places to choose from! Carmarthen itself is easily accessible by train and by car from the M4 motorway. Set high atop the cliffs overlooking the picturesque Cornish fishing village of Mousehole, Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital Cornwall provides a safe haven for over 1,000 wild birds every year. We provide care and support for many different species of bird – from herring gulls to robins, from magpies and crows to pigeons and doves. Unfortunately, the Hospital is currently closed to all admittances. On the 19th of August 2022 DEFRA confirmed an avian influenza (bird flu) outbreak on site, which resulted in the euthanasia of all birds and the Hospital having to close for 12 months; as per the instruction of APHA. This has had a devastating impact on the staff and the charity. During this closure, extensive work is being undertaken to ensure Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital Cornwall can reopen, stronger than ever, with new facilities and policies implemented. It was when I was attending a my daughters graduation the advice the lecture gave to the young people now going out into the work place was this “If you can do what you enjoy doing as if when you go on vacation and make this your vocation you will never work another day in your life”This thought really hit home to me. Living and working in North London for 30 years I wondered what did really want to do. Where would I like to be? What did I enjoy doing Etc.? This was the easy part, I enjoyed my Motorcycle riding, and my charity work with Advanced Motorcyclist Group where I had become an observer with them. I enjoyed teaching others become safer better riders and seeing them enjoy their new riding skills. So career change to do what I enjoyed was required. A Fresh Start, a new way of life. The hard part was getting the training and qualifications and passed the DVSA test. In order to run a DVSA (ATB). My own motorcycle training school when completed the dsa exams I first moved and run a Motorcycle training school in west Cumbria.2003 then with the law changes with the 2 part test it ment a relocation and we moved to manchester area and been ruinning the training school in mancheter Atherton area since 2008 But in 2008 there was changes in the motorcycle test was conducted with the now know 2 part test with new test centres (mptc) required in order to do the new off road manoeuvres, but it meant over a 50 mile trip to the my nearest test centre. Because of this I felt I had to relocate and move my established business closer to one of the new DSA test centres, this we did at the start off 2008. Now we are based in Atherton Manchester only 1/2 mile from the DVSA test center i belive that we are the closest training school to any dvsa motorcycle mod 1 test area ,
