Art Branches was set up in 2015 by founder, Stephanie Hartick and Directors Sara Noonan and Deborah Pipe. The community interest company grew out of the success of ‘Landscape Patterns’; a project Stephanie set up as an artist, connecting people with the landscape of the Brecks, for Breaking New Ground Landscape Partnership. Our ethos is to improve health and wellbeing, both physical and mental, through the provision of supported creative projects that link people to their environment. We work with adults and children recovering from severe and moderate mental health issues and support vulnerable people with their wellbeing. Our aims are to: Collaborate with partners and organisations to create interesting and imaginative projects relevant to the people we work with Work alongside children and adults recovering from mental health issues Innovate and test new ideas crossing conventional boundaries Deliver engaging creative projects inspired by our natural and urban heritage Celebrate our rich culture through creative processes across the arts We have a proven track record for delivering high quality and meaningful projects across the East of England. Our approach Our main focus will be to develop a dedicated global thought leadership environment specifically on assessment in a vocational context, the science, art and craft of assessment in vocational education - vocational pedagogy. We want to push the boundaries of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and deliver a global approach to vocational pedagogy, which we believe is under-researched and under-theorised. The future is in a blended, agile environment that truly focuses on the needs and aspirations of all students in vocational education and assessment, our research will have a predominant focus on the UK, EU, America and Australia. As part of our lifelong learning journey for all, we offer courses that include: Our online Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) course is awarded by ITC First, an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. Our unique Leadership Development Programme studied across five modules, applies generic leadership principles directly to the assessment environment. Upon completion of this course, you will be confident in leading an assessment team. For those interested in entering the world of assessment, or those working in an administrative or support role, we also offer our Level 3 Award in the Principles and Practices of Assessment. You may choose to 'top up' this qualification down the line by upgrading it to a CAVA.

Wendy has worked with ceramics for over 25years. She loves experimenting with different techniques of firing, especially Horse hair Raku. She also likes to explore different forms and makes both ornamental and utility ware. She has been working with kiln fused glass since 2003. She likes to push the boundaries of what can be achieved producing unique pieces of both decorative and useful items. These could be dishes in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, to wall hangers, making many commission pieces. Philip started woodturning full time in 1986 and attended craft fairs for more then 12 years. After a break he started turning again and moved into a craft unit in Hutton-le-Hole, in 2006 with his wife Wendy, a Glass and Ceramics artist. He was accepted onto the Register of Professional Turners in 2006, this was a very proud moment for him, and showed he had reached a very high standard. Over 60 articles published in GMC Woodturning Magazine Philip likes to work with native timber, sourced from a local timber yard and from tree surgeons; this allows him to choose the way it’s converted to obtain the best figuring. Philip work ranges from utility ware to works of art. He produces small to large items which he sells at the shop. along with his workshop.

Clay Works Studios Dumfries is a Ceramic/Pottery workshop which provides a friendly, informal and supportive environment where everyone is welcome to come and get hands on with Clay, learn new Ceramic techniques and/or develop existing skills. portrait.jpg LAUREN TAYLOR Lauren graduated from Glasgow School of Art with BA (hons) Ceramics in 2000. Following this she worked for Dalton Pottery in Dumfries & Galloway, assisting people to throw pots and helping with the production of their slipcast ceramics. Whilst traveling in Australia she worked for various potters making functional Pottery on the wheel. On return Lauren moved to Totnes in Devon to work as an Apprentice at Dartington Pottery. Here she gained in depth practical knowledge of pottery workshop practice . Lauren went on to work as Production Thrower for Dartington Pottery until she moved to North Devon to work as Ceramics technician and recreational Teacher at North Devon College. Whilst working at the College she also completed PCET Teacher training qualification. Since the birth of her first Daughter in 2008, Lauren has been mainly working as a mother, whilst also making pots and doing pencil Portraits. Lauren exhibited her porcelain vases as part of Spring Fling 2012, and has exhibited her Ceramics since at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. I followed my wonderful art foundation course at Colchester with a degree in ceramics at Birmingham Poly. I founded Dalton Pottery in 1989 with my late husband Geoff and we enjoyed over 25 happy years working together and raising two brilliant sons. They say that the only thing you can be sure of in life, is that it will keep changing. Some of those changes are very hard, and I have found the one thing that always gets me through those challenges is my creativity and the creative community. Chris and Lauren have built such a wonderful resource at Clayworks and I am proud to be part of the team. One of the most rewarding things about spending a lifetime understanding the medium of clay, is passing on those skills to those who are just discovering how meditative and rewarding it is to work with. On completion of his apprenticeship he went on to work for several potters around the UK before beginning to develop his own range of tableware in 2005. In 2006 Chris became potter in residence at the Beaford Arts Centre where he worked until its closure in 2013. In 2009 Chris began studying for an MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art graduating in 2011. It was during this period of study that Chris’ work evolved in to the heavily decorated and layered work seen today. In recent years Chris has won several awards for his work and exhibits across the UK in a variety of galleries and live events.In recent years Chris has worked as lecturer of Ceramics at Plymouth College of Art across the BA and MA programs. After graduating Abbie went on to work for Joanna Bird Contemporary Collections, London. Here she planned numerous exhibitions and oversaw the sale of significant ceramic works. Following this Abbie set up a home studio in Sussex. Here she began to develop her own work, primarily working with slab building and throwing. My name is Sarah and I am your local qualified level 5 behaviourist and trainer with over 7 years of experience working with dogs and their owners. I specialise in behavioural issues including reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety and resource guarding; however, I also love to work on the fun stuff too, both including puppies and general obedience. My methods revolve primarily around positive reinforcement and I want to offer advice that is effective and realistic. My clientele are those who want to work with their dog to understand their behaviour and truly address the deeper issues. This means that I won't promise you an overnight fix for 90% of problems because they don't exist without masking the problem. I relate dog training to weight loss. Quick fixes and fads may appear to work initially but eventually they create more problems or the problem re-emerges worse than ever. They just aren't sustainable and arguably unethical. Instead, if you follow a goal and work on changing habits, you'll get results long-term. I believe in rewarding dogs for good behaviour and I also believe in boundaries. I avoid use of prong and shock collars and aspire to set your dogs up for success. I have 3 dogs, a 7 year old tripawd German Shepherd called Bowser, a 5 year odl Rottweiler called Rosie and an 8 month old rescue German Shepherd called Pablo.
