Milton Keynes

After 25 years of Business & Finance Leadership experience in marquee companies starting with Unilever, holding senior management roles at Murugappa Group, CFO at Eicher and part of the Global Leadership Team at American Express, Ravi drew his inspiration to become the first-generation entrepreneur in the Business Services space. Given his pioneering global experience at American Express in mid 1990s to establish the first ever offshore Global Financial Centreat Delhi, he founded RvaluE Consulting in 2005 as a pioneer to offer end to end services to strategize, set up, stabilize, operate and transform Captive Shared Services in India and overseas. With 20+ years of Business Process Management (BPM) experience, Ravi has now grown this company to become the RvaluE Group with laser focus on the entire life cycle spectrum of the Business Services space, covering enterprise functions and services strategy, process & technology transformation, captive operations, and end to end solutions. As a Business Leader at Amex Financial Centre, Ravi was integral to the growth of the Centre to make it truly global - starting with countries in Japan, Asia Pacific, and Australia (JAPA) Region, and expanding to servicing 30+ countries across all continents in the globe. He enabled growth and globalization of the Business Process Service operations in India creating ‘global centres of excellence’, for major F&A processes (like Accounts Payable, Reconciliations, Accounting and Reporting). He worked with customers across the globe, delivering over US$ 20 Mn cost saves and value-added services, while leading several global initiatives like Y2K Compliance, Capacity Optimization, Integrating Quality & Control, first time Sox Compliance for the global US$160Bn Balance Sheet etc. Based on the nucleus Finance Centre, Amex Global expanded offshoring to multiple functions and high-end processes including Risk Management, Customer Service, Analytics, Procurement, Real Estate, etc., thereby, making India as the second largest country for American Express in terms of employees, next only to USA. In fact, Amex GlobalCentre laid the foundation to create a new Industry in Global Business Services for India including GE and other Fortune 500 corporations. With India becoming the global hub for offshoring (through Amex in mid 90s) and spreading the power of Shared Services in India (since 2005), RvaluE pioneered Shared Services Forum to bring both global & India corporations and centres together in an Industry Platform, and this combined collaborative power was for the first time described and termed as ‘Global India’. Over the 16 years of setting up RvaluE, Ravi has built the Group on the strong foundation of his 4 decades of corporate, professional and entrepreneurial experience, and the expertise of the RvaluE Team to expand to multiple dimensions through Associate Companies & Ventures across the Business Services Space – Advisory,Setting up Captive Centres, Operations, Expansion, Process Transformation, Coaching, Learning & Organizational Capabilities, SSF as Industry Platform, Frameworks, M&A, Technology and Research.

The MasterHearting Club

the masterhearting club

You may be familiar with masterminding, where a group of like-minded individuals get together (in person or online) to support each other, exchange ideas, discuss challenges and so on. They can be executives or any other professional, but are often business owners/entrepreneurs, where people around them on a daily basis usually do not have the same priorities or outlook and so cannot understand the unique challenges they face. Hi, I’m Arthur Kendall, founder of the Masterhearting Club. I had been wanting to set up some sort of masterminding group for some time when one day, in late 2018, I read about a new approach, which instead of focussing on solving problems using the mind, people would use the heart as the guide. This immediately resonated with me and I decided to set up a platform which would allow people (of any background) to set up private or semi-private groups – where certain things can be shared with the wider community. In the first instance I intend to use this online platform to organise a small beta group, with a couple of local friends plus a couple of remote members, to test this dynamic, all of whom have an entrepreneurial streak, though quite different backgrounds, which is important, to allow different perspectives on our challenges. Since I live in a fairly rural area, albeit a provincial capital, a major motivator was to allow closer connections to be formed with people around the world who share a similar worldview on consciousness, leadership and entrepreneurship. This will allow members to spend time with people who more closely align with our international entrepreneurial outlook and desire to make the world a better place. At the same time, I can help others achieve the same and create their own groups within this heart-centred, conscious business community. So this is your community. Not like you read in so many sites and marketing blurbs. I may be the originator, but this thing is bigger than me, the universe is creating it, initially through me, but as a way to bring people together that will evolve it in ways I cannot even yet conceive. I will not set direction and insist on strategies to get to where I want to go. That is the conventional “predict and control” model, which I know is destined for the history books. My model is the “sense and response” model, and I will use it to adapt the site, and as more come on board, you will also contribute to its destiny. Thank you for your interest in the Masterhearting Club and I hope your membership will be as transformational for you as it is for me.

Sounds Together

sounds together

Huntingdon

Sounds Together is a complete, systematic, synthetic phonics programme for use in Reception and KS1. The Programme is the 'step-up' from 'Letters and Sounds'. It provides a fresh, thorough and systematic approach to teaching and learning phonics that builds on previous professional experience and understanding, without requiring teachers to 'unlearn' the positive principles and methods of 'Letters and Sounds'. Sounds Together has its roots in 'Letters and Sounds', but has been extensively developed and creatively elaborated in the light of all the feedback and learning from the thousands of schools that used 'Letters and Sounds' in the national 'Communication, Language and Literacy Development Programme' (CLLD). Sounds Together is the only fully DFE approved phonics programme to draw on this knowledge base. Sounds Together, with its strength of structure, guidance and support, makes phonics teaching and learning consistent, engaging and effective from its beginning in YR, right through to KS1. Some key features Sounds Together sets out the complete sequence of all the phonic knowledge and skills that need to be taught to meet the requirements of the new National Curriculum. It provides strong classroom support for teachers because it includes fully detailed planning for each session of the Programme in Reception and KS1. The planning has been carefully designed to ensure that previous learning is progressive and cumulative and is repeatedly revisited and reinforced. The planning is completely integrated with a full suite of on-screen resources for the interactive whiteboard (Smart Boards only). It's easy to use because the planning fully describes each step of the teaching sequence for each day's phonics session. It's engaging for children because the teaching resources for each session include vivid interactive whiteboard materials that will capture children's attention and keep it focused on what they need to learn. It minimises the amount of time needed to prepare for each phonics session, because all the IWB materials needed are immediately ready for use for every single daily phonics session. The Programme includes an electronic library of decodable captions, sentences and other short texts that can be printed out as handy-sized reading cards. The Programme includes the materials children need to practise and apply their phonic knowledge and skills. There is also a wealth of extra IWB resources that can be used for additional practice, including materials for individual or group work. All the Sounds Together materials can be used with a complete class or smaller groups. The Programme is provided on disc, with an individual school licence that allows the school to make unlimited lifetime use of the materials, provided only that none of those materials are not shared, copied or passed on to a third party.

If you are contemplating transitioning your organisation to Agile ways of working, then you have probably already read numerous reports and editorials on the advantages of Agile delivery and all the improvements you can expect in terms of speed of delivery, quality of outcome and most importantly, reduced costs; but have you thought about the challenges you may face along the way? When organisations begin their Agile transformation, one of their first challenges is understanding the roles necessary to support the initiative; for example, one of the most critical but often a new concept for many organisations new to Agile delivery, is the role of the ‘Scrum Master’. The most frequently asked question is "What makes the Scrum Master role different from that of a Project Manager?" The differences are important and, in our experience, understanding them is crucial to Agile success. A strong corporate culture not accustomed to the Agile mindset can also be a difficult environment in which to implement Agile methods. In some cases, the company’s culture and practices may reward non-Agile milestones while inadvertently discouraging Agile success. In other words, If the correct framework for the new delivery concept is not in place, Agile adoption can be extremely difficult. When a company maintains a non-Agile framework and then tries to shoe-horn in Agile practices, they often end up accomplishing less at greater cost while also achieving lower quality results which, ultimately leads them to somehow conclude that, it is Agile that does not work. Agile training workshops We combine powerpoint presentations, business cases and discussions to create an effective learning experience; an optional online assessment on conclusion of the workshops assess the level of Agile knowledge transfer. Take a look at our Agile training workshop services for course features. Agile coaching Our professional and highly motivated Agile coaches will be responsible for creating and improving Agile processes within your team or organisation by spreading industry best practices between different teams, integrate Agile teams with non-Agile practices and measure the results of the transition. Business change and process automation The COVID-19 pandemic refocussed businesses on resilience, for many that resulted in an acceleration of the business process automation agenda. Automation combined with contextual intelligence can provide a route to greater agility, reduced risk, a better delivery experience and stronger growth. Working closely with your teams, we can map you existing processes using UML diagrams enabling us to identify process gaps, inefficient or repetitious tasks. Once the process optimisations have been agreed, we can proceed to automation with bespoke interfaces and system workflows enabling your teams to focus more easily on the business of generating growth. We are also fully versed with the UK central government/public sector GDS Digital by Default Service Design Standards, G-Cloud and DOS framework procurement processes.

E-Learning Matters Home About Me Blog Portfolio Contact E-learning Matters You are here:Home/Blog/Blog/E-learning/E-learning Matters E-LEARNING MATTERS WELCOME Hello and welcome to E-learning Matters. This is the obligatory (well, it’s not really obligatory, but it feels so) blog post about myself and the website. THE OBLIGATORY INTRODUCTION Introductions first: My name’s Gareth Davies and I’m from south Wales in the UK. I’m an e-learning professional with an MA in Online and Distance Education, but more importantly, I’m someone that is very passionate about education and technology’s role within it. WHY HAVE YOU MADE THIS SITE? This website is the successor of my Multiple Tracks blog which was a free WordPress blog site. I chose to go down the route of getting my own hosting to increase my options on what I can do with my content and, crucially, for me to learn how to create my own website using WordPress. WHAT WILL E-LEARNING MATTERS BE ABOUT? The content I’ll be writing about will naturally revolve around e-learning. However, what is e-learning and why should you care about it? The ‘e’ in e-learning stands for ‘electronic’, so e-learning is learning using electronic technologies. This learning can be a part of a course or curriculum or it can account for their entirety. Typically, e-learning is seen purely as online learning where learners engage with materials via the Internet. This website will not be solely looking at online learning, however. I’ll be discussing the wide variety of issues that fall under the roof of technology enhanced learning or educational technology. The link to the left is to the wikipedia entry for educational technology. I’ll be doing this in all my blog posts when a particular term comes up that I feel readers may be interested in because I am committed to making this website a hub for people to learn about the field of educational technology. A place where readers can find not only original content but a starting off point for further reading to achieve a deeper understanding of the subjects covered. I’ll be writing about subjects such as the future of education, new developments in technology that will and are having an impact on education, and existing and burgeoning learning theories that relate to these technologies use in learning. I’ll also be writing about any of my own experiences that I feel will be of use to people studying and working in the field. Anyway, welcome and please feel free to make comments. Ncati

Birmingham

We are dedicated to creating the skilled engineering workforce of tomorrow. Operating from our campuses in Doncaster and Birmingham, NCATI is part of the University of Birmingham Group, and is led by a team with strong links with both industry and education. This ensures that the skills we teach are ones that employers in the transport and infrastructure sectors need. To deliver the major infrastructure programmes and rail modernisation initiatives planned across the UK, the engineering workforce needs a greater number of talented people, with a different blend of skills, and from more diverse backgrounds. Our mission as an organisation is to produce a new generation of highly skilled professionals from a range of communities, changing what the rail industry looks like with new segments of the UK joining Britain’s rail, transport, and infrastructure workforce. Accessible from levels 3 to 6, our curriculum offer is for ages 16 and above, and includes part-time and full-time courses, as well as apprenticeships. One of our values at the college is pioneering excellence, and we strive to achieve this by utilising the best technology and facilities available – with over £9 million of specialist kit and equipment donated to us by our employer partners. Industry collaboration is integral to our success, and NCATI has benefitted significantly from engaging with leading sector employers like HS2, Honeywell, and Alstom. Our network supports us by offering apprenticeships, work placements, mentoring and site visits. We also have guest lecturers that come into the college and teach learners about the latest innovations in the industry. Our learners are at the heart of everything we do. That is why we have created a supportive learning environment with smaller class sizes and personalised one-to-one mentoring, allowing every individual to thrive and achieve their personal and professional goals.
