S6 Tutoring Academy

Wickford

A message from the Founder & Director Stephanie Williams S6 Tutoring Academy was formed following my own experience of working within the state education system. After graduating with a 2.1 BA Hons in Marketing and Business Studies, I qualified as a teacher and taught Maths, English, Music, Science and Business Studies in a Secondary State School. S6 Tutoring is a private limited company in the education sector, dedicated to tutoring and mentoring young people. The company is young and vibrant and is the choice for parents who want their children to maximise their academic potential. Our vision is to play a pivotal role in improving academic standards. The company provides an initial, honest, home assessment that will accurately evaluate a child’s need. Each tutor is CRB checked and has qualifications and experience relevant to the role. An assessment of a child’s ability and potential is carried out in the initial stages, leaving parents secure in their expectations. I encourage my team of tutors to be pro-active in their approach and be responsible for the provision of educational services, continually pushing the boundaries with effective and exciting teaching aids. We receive excellent recommendations and client reviews and have continued to attract new clients, due to the commitment of the team and the continued success rate in students passing and obtaining a place at their first choice of grammar school – details of which can be seen on our Results pages. In summary, I feel that S6 Tutoring will build on its success by continuing to offer an educational experience focused on the unique needs of each of our clients. The company has much improved since its inception, particularly with the launch of the S6 Hub. Our objective is to continue working with a personal and professional approach to provide our pupils with the opportunity to progressively learn and strengthen their skill set, to meet the demands of secondary education and maximise their potential.

. I joined the team this year and had no idea where to start. After coming along to your webinar and attending mentoring sessions, I was able to get insightful steers and practical next steps. I have benefitted from your guidance and advice on the need to involve the whole team, assess our needs, document the exploration (including outcomes from demos and meetings with suppliers to stay on track) and ask for further demos and trials (especially where team members missed sessions). We have now chosen a solution to move forward with next year. -Christina Ntow, Communications and Administration Officer, MEaP Academy Community Education Centre Groundswell GROUNDSWELL Chloe was really helpful and took the time to carefully explain things and find solutions to any problems we were having. Really glad we chose the Onboarding option for our charity. We only have 2 fundraisers, and as a small team needed the extra guidance and help that Onboarding provided. I'd definitely recommend it, and it was great value for money for the support on offer. -Jennie Payne, Fundraising Manager, Groundswell Community Transport Association COMMUNITY TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION Core Insights were super supportive and professional throughout our database selection process. They always understood very well what our needs were and explained all the IT-stuff in a clear and concise way. -Tracy, Senior Administrator, Community Transport Association BAAS Educational Trust BAAS EDUCATIONAL TRUST I found the Donorfy Health Check sessions with Chloe very helpful and good fun. She walked me through each area that Donorfy offers, with practical advice and then homework to make improvements. By the end of the five sessions, I was clear on where my areas of growth were and had a clear path to implement this myself or get support. I now feel Donorfy is working for me and I can continue unphased. Thank you so much. -Joanna Powell, Treasurer, BAAS Educational Trust

Liverpool Law Society

Liverpool

Liverpool Law Society boasts 2500 or so members in practice; it is one of the largest local Law Societies in England and Wales. Membership is broad and varies from practitioners engaged in high-value commercial work to complex charity work. The Society prides itself in being at the forefront of debate and has been able to communicate on behalf of its members their concerns in a number of areas both public and professional, and at regional and national levels. The directors meet twice a year with local MPs where there is exchange of information, news about bills going through parliament and constituent issues are raised and discussed and parliamentary questions are put down on behalf of LLS members. Separately, the directors also meet with the nominated councillors from the Liverpool City Region local authorities. This again is a useful way of ensuring our members’ concerns and issues, including those of their clients, can be raised at one of these meetings. The councillors also come to the Society with matters their constituents are facing and we work together on joint initiatives where there is a common aim. The Society also has good communication channels with The Law Society, the SRA and the LeO, where members’ issues can be raised and matters affecting the legal profession discussed. On a regional level, Liverpool Law Society is a member of the Joint V, a grouping of autonomous local law societies that meet and discuss common issues affecting membership organisations for legal professionals, sharing best practice. The members of the Joint V are Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester Law Societies. United the Joint V have a strong voice nationally, representing over 10,000 legal professionals. In addition to our representation role, Liverpool Law Society runs an extensive legal training programme with approximately 100 seminars and conferences organised every year in various specialist areas of law. Manhattan Fencing Center

We are learning from coach ALEX SOURIMTO who is one of the best fencing coaches in the USA. He is a very professional, kind, and strict coach; he can quickly pinpoint the fencer’s weakness and teach the corresponding technics/strategies. His stripe coach is also far beyond your expectations and helps to build the kids’ mindsets for long-term sportsmanship. After a period of time, the kids are delighted and eager to learn; the coach and the club will be part of your family. It is highly recommended! – Star. G Manhattan Fencing Center is my happy place in the City! I started private classes with coach Vlad as my first contact with fencing. He is incredible. He has so much patience to explain me and provide me the tools to develop my skills while I enjoy myself. He always has a good sense of humor and a sensitive approach to teach me the discipline I need to learn to advance. I am a busy mom who fences for recreation purposes, and I have the privilege to have coach Vlad, MFC’s great location/ very clean environment, and kind staff. It is my opportunity to offer my 4 years old son the motivation to start fencing soon, also with coach Vlad. – Juliana My daughters work with Coach Sergey Isayenko, who has all the qualities of a great coach. He is encouraging, patient, and has a constructive approach that is rare to find. More than that, Sergey incorporates skills that not only apply to fencing but life as well. He teaches good sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and always finds the best in his students. My sons work with Coach Alex Sourimto and there are only positives to say about him. He is supportive, goal-oriented, and more importantly, has a lot of respect for his students. Both coaches have built great relationships and communicate well with my kids. Overall, MFC has been a great experience and we can’t be more appreciative to this club and it’s amazing coaches.
