St Leonards Studio CIC is a collective of teachers of Yoga, Pilates, Qigong, Meditation, Shiatsu and other such practices for holistic health and wellbeing. We are a not for profit, Community Interest Company whose aim is to provide affordable space for local teachers who form a collective of practitioners providing classes, workshops and courses for all. The studio was founded and is run by two local teachers Annie Cryar and Zowie Martin with an intention to create a suitable and affordable space for a community of teachers with a shared ethos of safety, inclusiveness and community support. All teachers joining the studio are fully qualified and insured and encouraged to be part of a governing body to ensure a standard of professionalism students can trust. In-house trainings are available for both existing teachers to continue professional development and new teachers and practitioners to train through the Shiatsu College Hastings and Meridian Yoga Teacher Training, a British Wheel of Yoga approved school. Members of the studio are independent sole traders and remain fully autonomous in the running of their classes but are encouraged to think of themselves as being part of a whole that runs for the good of all. Teachers are encouraged to connect socially with one another, to experience one another teachings and to participate in raising social awareness through collaborative free community events such as Mental Health Awareness Week, World Meditation Day and charity events. Over the last 5 years the studio has had to move venues 3 times and teachers come and go but the heart and vision of St Leonards studio remains the same. St Leonards Studio CIC supports the Sarah Lee Trust, a local charity providing free complimentary therapy for those with terminal illness and their families. We believe writers can learn a huge amount from each other. We set up London Lit Lab to share our writerly experience, knowledge and inspiration with up-and-coming writers. Since 2016, we have been designing and teaching our own London Lit Lab courses, and mentoring writers of both fiction and non-fiction. We also teach creative writing courses at other organisations including the British Library, Riba, Mslexia, Arvon Foundation, St Mungo’s, Bath Spa and Birkbeck universities, Writers & Artists and Google. Lily Dunn Lily Dunn is an author, mentor and creative writing teacher. Her first novel, Shadowing the Sun, was published by Portobello Books and her debut nonfiction, Sins of My Father, A Daughter, A Cult, A Wild Unravelling, a memoir about the legacy of her father’s addictions, was published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in March 2022. You can find her personal essays in Granta, Hinterland, MIR Online, The Real Story and Litro, and she is a regular writer for Aeon. She is in her final writing up year of her doctorate at Birkbeck, University of London, and is interested in how to integrate the therapeutic power of writing with literature. She is co-editor of A Wild and Precious Life, Addiction, physical and mental illness and its aftermath: a collection of stories and poetry from writers in recovery, due to be published by Unbound in May 2021. She teaches creative writing at Bath Spa University and co-runs London Lit Lab. She also has experience teaching marginalised groups, specifically those in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. ‘Lily’s memoir course was first rate. Danny Lai is from Taichung, Taiwan. There, he learned many different kinds of martial arts, including Tai Chi, Hsing-Yi, Ba Gua, Tae Kwon Do and Shaolin. Tai Chi Punch Although each style of Tai Chi Chuan has its peculiar features, the five styles of Tai Chi Chuan something in common, they are: With a calm mind the performer breathes naturally. In peace and ease the performer moves lightly, softly, slowly and equally. The performer moves harmoniously and in a balanced way. The performer moves like a circle–graceful and perfect. The motion is slow and steady and strong strength (yang) and weak strength (yin) can be used in motions mutually. Tai Chi Chuan has attracted attention internationally. It has special functions in promoting health and preventing illness. To help the performer to concentrate their mind and to make their motions coordinate with their breath, music can be played to accompany practice. Flow with the sound of the musical instruments. In following the rhythms of the music, practicing Tai Chi Chuan will relieve stress and benefit health. Crescent Kick (Shuang Pai Chiao) The name Tai Chi comes from the Taoist symbol the West calls yin (black) and yang (white). This Tai Chi symbol represents two balanced opposites: black and white, sky and earth, fire and water, masculine and feminine, moon and sun. Feminine is the black or yin. Masculine is light or yang. The yin side of Tai Chi is like yoga, moving meditation, or chi kung. The yang side is the martial art – the practical application of the movements – using your power. Most often the yang side of Tai Chi is not taught. The healing benefits without the martial application is the yin without the yang. Through the movements of Tai Chi, one can set the mind and body in balance. It is not easy to do. You want to make sure that for every movement in motion (yang) or at rest (yin) your body is moving together. Through Tai Chi training, you can learn more about yourself and you can feel calm and peaceful all the time. It is a kind of martial art, but it is a gentle martial art. It is not for attacking, but has powerful self-defense applications.

Credits will apply which can be used towards an alternative time or product that we offer. For subscriptions / block bookings (for example Subscribing to school term of Kids Clubs). Unfortunately this is not a flexible package. You must attend all sessions. You cannot cancel individual sessions. If you miss a session you do not get a refund or credit. This includes cancellations due to illness. Once a booking has been made, no refunds will be given. If cancellation by you is due to serious illness or injury, a full credit will be considered if a relevant doctor’s certificate is submitted and notice of cancellation is received prior to the start of your activity. If for any reason we have to cancel your activity, a 100% credit towards an alternative activity or a full refund will be given. Post degree, Eleanor’s work has taken her into the film industry, television productions, modelling, a singing residency in Mayfair and even a record deal. Alongside her pedagogical studies, Eleanor taught Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre at a further four independent schools in Ascot for over a decade. She and her wonderful team currently deliver the co-curricular Performing Arts provision at 7 schools and colleges within Surrey and Hampshire. “I have an immense passion for teaching and feel privileged to have such an enriching career. The struggles of mental ill health Mental illness is the second-largest source of burden of disease in the UK with 1 in 4 in the UK experience mental health issues and a whopping 792 Million affected worldwide. Burnout has now been classified as a disease by the World Health Organisation with 74% of people saying they have felt so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope. 51% of adults who felt stressed reported feeling depressed and 61% felt anxious 46% reported an unhealthy diet, 29% started to drink to excess and 16% started or increased smoking. Burnout is a global problem, with 602,000 workers suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety. £8.4 billion a year in sickness absence - the average employee taking seven sick days per year, of which 40% are for mental health, or 72 million lost working days per year £15.1 billion a year in reduced productivity a year – ‘presenteeism’ accounts for 1.5 times as much working time lost as absenteeism and costs more to employers because it is more common among higher-paid staff £2.4 billion a year is spent replacing staff who leave their jobs because of mental ill health.

Little Swimming Co. reserve the right to make changes to the terms and conditions. New terms and conditions will be posted on our website and will take affect from the said date. Previous versions of our terms and conditions will be available on request. Lessons and Fees Lessons can be booked via the website or via reception. We will endeavour to accommodate your chosen time and date however we may have to offer an alternative time and date if there is no availability. Alternatively, we can place prospective customers on a waiting list. A half an hour 1-2-1 lesson at Little Swimming Co. will cost £21.00 per customer. This is acquired through a Direct Debit collected on the 1st of every month. All customers are required to have monthly Direct Debits set up for the 1st of each month. If a Direct Debit is not set up Little Swimming Co. reserve the right to reallocate the lesson. Direct Debits are to be set up via the following link http://www.littleswimmingco.co.uk/direct-debit-sign-up. Please allow at least 7 days for the Direct Debit to activate. If the Direct Debit is not activated in due time for the collection date, 1st of the month, a one off cash or card payment can be made at reception. Cancellations and Refund Policy Lessons with Little Swimming Co. may be ceased by giving 14 Days written notice. Any lessons paid for, but not taken within a period of 1 month will be refunded, provided we receive 14 Days written notice. Lessons cancelled within 14 days of the start of each month are subject to a £10.00 Administration Fee. There will be no personal customer holidays in the event a customer cancels a session within 72 hours these cannot be made up. Lessons cancelled with notice of 72 hours may be offered a catch up slot where available. Lessons cannot be cancelled where a customer intends to retain a space, payment of each week retains the space. These lessons can instead be subject to a Catch Up Lesson. On any occasion the pool cannot provide you with your swimming lesson our variable Direct Debit will ensure the customer is not paying for lessons which cannot be undertaken by Little Swimming Co. Examples of this include, instructor cancellation, instructor holidays, or during our Christmas Closure. Little Swimming Co. will endeavour to provide the same swimming teacher continuously for each customer. In the event of management illness, annual leave or any other unavailability, Little Swimming Co. will provide a replacement instructor. A refund will not be offered if an alternative instructor is offered and declined by the customer. In the unlikely event an alternative teacher cannot be found then a refund will be offered.
