This course teaches you English as a foreign language. Starting from a few basic words, we then work though the structures of the language step by step, learning new grammar and vocabulary as we go. We pay close attention to pronunciation, and make use of the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) to help us with this. The course is taught by a British English native speaker. But, because English is an international language, we will listen to various accents throughout the course.

The IMI Roadside Safety programme is a blended learning course consisting of an online learning package followed by a face to face training and assessment session. The course is aimed at Truck and Light Vehicle Tyre Technicians involved with working on the roadside and whilst not essential, we advise that candidates should have completed a recognised course in Heavy or Light Vehicle Tyre Fitting and possess good communication skills. Successful candidates will receive the IMI Quality Approved Award in Roadside Safety as well as the NTDA REACT Licence to Work on the Roadside. Course Details:  Online training program to be worked through at the candidates own pace. Up to one day training and assessment session. Course Content Theoretical Identification of essential service vehicle equipment Personal Protective Equipment to be used at the roadside The main requirements of PAS43 and the REACT licence Pre-breakdown planning and dynamic risk assessment Attending a breakdown and making the area safe Clearing up and leaving the scene safely Practical Service vehicle inspection and equipment condition reporting Simulated attendance a motorway breakdown for the purposes of making the scene safe (please note, there is no wheel removal or tyre fitting activities included in this course or test. This pre-learning module is designed for individuals who have signed up to complete the dry needling in-house course. The aim is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing learners for the transition to independent and competent dry needling practice. Key Learning Objectives: Deepen Theoretical Understanding: Refine Palpation Skills: Develop and enhance palpation techniques for precise muscle identification and localisation of trigger points. Trigger Point Anatomy and Physiology: Explore the anatomy and physiology of trigger points, including their formation, characteristics, and clinical significance. / Contraindications and Precautions: Thoroughly review absolute and relative contraindications to dry needling, ensuring patient safety and minimizing risk. Develop Clinical Reasoning Skills: Patient Assessment: Learn to conduct a comprehensive patient assessment, including history taking, pain assessment, and physical examination, to identify appropriate candidates for dry needling. Treatment Planning: Develop the ability to formulate individualized treatment plans, considering patient goals, clinical findings, and potential risks and benefits. Evidence-Based Practice: Critically appraise current research on dry needling, integrating evidence into clinical decision-making Enhance Practical Skills: Needle Insertion Techniques: Refine needle insertion techniques, including entry angles, depth, and needle manipulation. Patient Positioning and Stabilization: Learn optimal patient positioning and stabilization techniques to ensure accurate needle placement and patient comfort. Managing Adverse Events: Develop strategies for managing potential adverse events, such as needle breakage, pneumothorax, and nerve injury.
