Inaura School is an independent, co-educational special school for pupils who have complex educational, social, emotional and mental health needs. The school has 3 education learning bases located in the county of Somerset. We provide student educational day placements for Somerset and the surrounding local authorities including: Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Devon, North Somerset and Wiltshire. Our Key Stage 2-3 learning base is located in Wedmore. Our Centre for Outreach and Outdoor Learning is located near Godney, Wells while our two Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 learning bases are located in Burrowbridge and near Godney, Wells. All of our students have Education Health and Care Plans and are placed with us through their local authority SEND departments. We work with students who have encountered challenges in mainstream, pupil referral units and other special school settings. Many of our students have experienced failure in multiple educational settings. That is why we do things a little differently. Our approach encompasses a relational and non-coercive philosophy for teaching and learning. This philosophy focuses on building trust and systematically removing the barriers that pupils have previously encountered in their learning journeys.

Founded in 2010 by me, Emily Hayward, Soma Pilates offers group and private Pilates matwork classes in Bristol, online classes, workshops and Pilates retreats in the most inspirational places. I have a lifelong love of dance and movement, and truly believe that a strong and health body helps us to have a strong and healthy mind. Having taught Pilates for over 10 years, I have experience of working with people from all walks of life, from ages 18 - 80+, from complete beginners to fellow teachers, and from those recovering from illness and injury to triathletes and dancers. Whatever stage of life you are at, Pilates will help you feel and move better in your everyday life. Pilates is a holistic form of exercise that is designed to strengthen, elongate and restore the body to balance. Connecting mind and body, Pilates re-educates movement patterns and rebalances the underlying muscular and structural systems of the body. This site has been called ‘the wilderness’ for a thousand years. It dates back to Saxon times when the Forest of Dean, the ancient woodland between the River Severn and the River Wye, was designated royal hunting forest. Looking from the vantage point of The Wilderness Centre down to the River Severn, you can clearly see the broad curves of the river heading out to the Bristol Channel. Over the course of a day you’ll see the tide ebb and flow - the second highest tidal range in the world - and be able to pick out the villages along the River’s bank that were once thriving Roman ports trading throughout the Mediterranean. The current house is Georgian, built in the early nineteenth century as a family home. In the early twentieth century the site became a children’s hospital, specialising in infectious diseases. In the 1960’s Gloucestershire County Council acquired The Wilderness Centre, turning it into an outdoors education and nature studies centre serving the county’s schools. Dan and Sophie Sturdy bought The Wilderness in 2015 as a key location in their vision for human potential and growth.

After an 8-year career in marketing, I decided that I didn’t really want to do that any more. So, I did a part-time MSc in Nutrition, Physical Activity & Public Health at the University of Bristol, qualified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, then quit my job and started my own business (a very succinct summary making it sound way more straight forward than it was). I have the enormous privilege of living on a beautiful farm in South Oxfordshire with my husband, Andy and our “little ones”, Geoffrey (dog) and Rupert (cat). Living on the farm, I have all the space anyone could need to keep active. I never really loved the gym environment and always found the regimented, rep counting, calorie tracking, muscle building approach to exercise very unnecessary. I feel best when I’m outdoors, being active in anyway that I fancy. I love strength training, but I quickly figured out that you don’t need machines in a gym to be able to do this. You just need to lift heavy things… and there are plenty of heavy things lying around the farm.

I am fully CRB Checked I pride myself in my professional driving tuition Lessons are fun, relaxed & professional I provide Semi Intensive and Midway Courses as well as individual driving lessons and Pass Plus. I can normally cover Warmley, Kingswood, Mangotsfield, St George, Stockwood, Brislington, St Annes, Fishponds, Staple Hill, Emersons Green, Knowle, Keynsham, Whitchurch and surrounding areas. Having been a Driving Instructor for a few years now, I can honestly say I start work every day looking forward to going to work knowing my job gives me 100% job satisfaction. Having been trained by LDC (Learner Driving Centre), using their ever-popular LD System, I have been trained in the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give you will be of the highest standard. Another reason why I chose to train with LDC is because their ethos was the same as mine and that because every student is different means I allow for flexibility in their learning, coaching rather than instructing to allow the you to learn safely at a pace that suits your needs. It is my aim to make lessons both enjoyable and well as productive. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly manner. I firmly believe in making pupils feel relaxed and at ease during lessons. Hopefully be creating the right environment my passion for coaching driving will transfer to you being passionate about learning to drive. I am now an Independent Driving Instructor but still follow the same coaching and training techniques I was taught by LDC but have adapted my own style of calm, patient, adaptable teaching to suit each individual pupil, giving them a tailored learning journey suitable for them. I have always lived in and around the Bristol area, and previous driving jobs has given me a vast knowledge of the Bristol roads. This will help me to choose the best roads to maximize your learning. I enjoy driving, teaching and I am passionate about Road Safety. So being a Driving Instructor is an ideal career for me. I have 3 sons whom, although I adore, has provided me with the best training possible for keeping calm in any situation. This along with my previous experience as a child minder and working with young people, has given me a solid teaching background. Well, I hope this gives you a brief idea about me.
