This is a next steps workshop that leads on from &#39;Learn to love your overlocker&#39;. &nbsp;To be successful you must be confident to thread your overlocker and adjust tensions to achieve a good finish.&nbsp;So you can use your overlocker but want to get more out of it - this is the workshop for you. &nbsp;During the session we will cover:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Seaming</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Blind Hems</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Pintucks</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Lettuce edging</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Rolled Hems</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Complex fabric handling e.g. velvet/chiffon/spandex&nbsp;</li></ul>We have a guest tutor Lindsey who has a wealth of experience and teaches online and in person to share her passion for stitching in stretch fabric and getting clothes to fit your wonderful body. &nbsp;(Or someone else&rsquo;s if you if you are generous enough to make for others).
To participate in this class you must have your own overlocker to bring to the class. &nbsp; If you would like to try the Pfaff Admire 1000 demonstration machine during the workshop please let us know when you are booking the workshop. If you can bring old T-shirts or other scrap jersey to practice on that will help. &nbsp;Alternatively bring your purse as we will have bags of scrap jersey to purchase. &nbsp; &nbsp;A cuppa and cake will be provided half way through the workshop.Please note this workshop takes place in the upstairs sewing studio at Stitching Kitchen.&nbsp;

Overlockers are great for sewing stretch fabrics and neatening seams, but did you know they can do so much more? Stitching Kitchen's next steps overlocker workshop leads on from 'Learn to love your overlocker'. To be successful you must already be confident in threading your overlocker and adjustinging tensions to achieve a good finish. 
So if you are comfortable using your overlocker but want to find out how to use it to its full potential - this is the workshop for you.

What to bring
Ideally you will have your own overlocker to bring to the workshop. If you are yet to invest in an overlocker and would like to use Stitching KItchen’s Pfaff Admire 1000 demonstration model, please let us know when you book. 
Feel free to bring any old t-shirts or other scrap jersey to practise on.

The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Real Estate Development cash flows require greater skill and flexibility from Analysts, and an ability to work with simultaneously with project partners. Value add and opportunistic property investments are complex both in their initial scope and their cash flow projections.
This course will show delegates how to appraise projects in Excel, incorporate and communicate updates as they happen and ultimately understand how to convert an opportunistic property investment into a core asset that can be sold on.
Residual models (profit & site) are demonstrated first to illustrate the main components of any scheme and the traditional methods of evaluation such as profit on cost ratio, rental yield and interest cover. Development cash flows are then constructed in detail looking in particular at phased income as well as fixed, variable and incidental construction costs and their impact on the net cash flow. Additional performance metrics are calculated including geared IRR and return on equity.
Development financing can be trickier than straightforward senior debt investment financing. This is because finance is often required in stages. The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.
The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis are covered in the final section of the course.

Quarterly meetings at the Academy

The Academy provides a list of Private and NHS Dental Surgeries, who are regularly contacting us when looking for more Trainee Dental Nurses, so you can contact them directly as a registered student at the Academy. This is a paid job, unless you would like to work voluntary for personal reasons. We also provide a reference letter to the employee in case you need it.

The curriculum is based on the GDC (General Dental Council) registration requirements for dental nurses. These are set out in terms of professional competencies, with the assessment method clearly outlined (e.g. how the skills and knowledge will be assessed in the final examinations – via written questions such as multiple choice (MCQ) or extended matching questions (EMQ) or via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – OSCEs). When are the exams?
There are two exams:
1. Multiple choice theory exam. November and March.
2. Practical exam. January and June. 
Record of Experience (eROE)
To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.

The intention is to support and develop your vocal expression journey, within a feminine container, and explore various vocal wellness practises over 8 weeks to nurture creativity, confidence and clarity in your voice.


Together we will explore, breath, movement and play to get you vocalising in your space, having fun and feeling comfortable sounding your authentic voice at home!

LOOKING FOR: MG, YA, ADULT FICTION, NON-FICTION

Una is a Rights Agent at Susanna Lea Associates and am starting to build a client list. 

She grew up in London and graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in English in 2021. At university, Una was particularly interested in contemporary West African and South Asian literature. She started as an agent's assistant at SLA London in 2022 and now handles some translation rights and provides support with editorial work and submissions.

Una's favourite reads always set her at ease right away and draws her in with impressive and accessible storytelling, memorable characters or an original hook. Una enjoys writing which expands her worldview, makes her laugh out loud or keeps her on her toes with its twists and turns. She welcomes submissions from debut authors and would be keen to read across a wide range of genres and styles.

She is looking for literary, upmarket and book club fiction, and is always drawn to stories that explores the challenges and complexities of love and relationships in all its forms —within families, between friends or in romantic relationships. Una loves the way in which familial relationships are dissected in The Wren, The Wren by Anne Enright and the impact of the local community in Small Worlds by Caleb Azumah Nelson. She is always drawn to novels with a strong sense of community, whether they are unified by geography, culture, or in other unexpected ways.

Una has always loved reading international and translated fiction and welcomes submissions from authors writing contemporary fiction that engages with cultures and traditions from around the world, such as in voices of the deities in Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi or the subversive tales of Sayaka Murata. 

She is not looking for children’s or YA titles, science fiction or high-concept fantasy, but is open to submissions from authors writing in the speculative fiction space, and books with fantastical or otherworldly elements, be that magical realism or supernatural horror, such as Mona Awad's campus novel with a twist, Bunny. Una would also love to read more writing that engages with the natural world and reminds us of the limitations of human understanding.

In non-fiction, Una enjoys books that furthers her understanding of wider societal issues — nature and the environment, culture, and little-known history. Her recent non-fiction favourites are Eve by Cat Bohannon, Doppelgänger by Naomi Klein and Unearthed by Claire Ratinon.

Una would like you to submit a covering letter, 1 page synopsis and the first three chapters or 5,000 words of your manuscript in a single word document.
