Eudaimonia Coaching UK

eudaimonia coaching uk

Hey Eudaimon, Thanks for stopping by, to share with me your precious moments. I will honour them with my truth. The gist is that I am a Purpose & Career Coach and TEDx Speaker. I founded Eudaimonia Coaching UK, with a sole purpose to democratise human flourishing. Through my work, I have inspired more than 10,000 people towards a more fulfilling career. I help people find their professional purpose and empower them to realise their full potential, through 1-2-1 coaching or in a group context. I have spoken in front of 600+ audiences and specialise in creating bespoke career development workshops, for corporate organisations and employees, that have a lasting impact in their lives. But it was not always like that… In 2012, I started waking up to the realisation that the path I have chosen, was not making me either successful or happy (in my own terms, anyway!). I started obsessively looking for a way to redefine my own success model (you can watch my TEDx about the Existential Crisis I have found myself in…). Coaching acted as a catalyst for me to find the courage to tune into my own self-discovery journey. The result? I re-architected my careeer completely. Founding Eudaimonia Coaching puts me in a position to follow my passions, blend my skills to serve the causes I believe in. I consciously invest in my mental and physical wellbeing and my business(es) are now enhancing my life. My raison d’être is to enable you to do the same, FIND your PURPOSE i.e. empowering you to realise your full potential.

Living in Dublin at the time, a work-hard play-hard culture had driven my body and mind to the brink and I regularly experienced panic attacks, depression and became quite unwell with an over-active thyroid – my body had had enough. Deep down even then I knew there was another way but felt stuck in my chosen career at the time. A chance conversation one evening in a pub with a friend opened my eyes to the world of holistic therapies like homeopathy, massage and yoga and a different way of being. I began to consider the prospect of honouring my heartfelt desire to help others. However it wasn’t until I fell pregnant with my first child that I found the courage to try a pregnancy massage and join a yoga class, persuaded by the chance that others would be beginning too. Healing myself came first and is an ongoing journey. Returning to Edinburgh that year I continued pregnancy yoga and massage and I have no doubt that both allowed me to sail through the 9 months inspiring me to go on and train as a bodyworker and leave my career in finance behind. I then spent many years working and learning about bodywork and building a successful niche massage practice supporting expectant and post-natal mums and their families. Some say that the average work-span of a massage therapist is 8 years and that certainly was the case for me. Whilst I was and still am hugely passionate about the benefits of positive touch, my body knew otherwise and it was time for a break from treating bodies in such a hands-on way. This realisation coincided with an opportunity to step back into employment for a while and I spent 3 fantastic years working for Secret Garden Outdoor Nursery founded by Cathy Bache. The chance to step into such a fabulous social enterprise was a true gift and allowed my deep love of Nature, which had been lost along the way, to resurface. I had the privilege to take part in a deep nature connection program called Art of Mentoring in 2014 and went on to train as a Forest Schools Practitioner and support young children in their free explorations of natural world. At that time, along with Nature, yoga was the biggest source of support in my life, emotionally, mentally and physically. I returned time and time again to the refuge of my mat to ease the physical and emotional stresses of parenting and life. In 2013, I had the privilege of doing my Foundation Yoga Training with Marc Woolford of Acquaviva Yoga. This year of training based around Marc’s interpretation of the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli really laid the foundations of my daily yoga practice and greatly influenced the style of my teaching today which is gentle yet deep, somatic and very mindful. In 2015 the conditions finally felt right for me to progress onto a full Teacher Training Diploma with Yoga Scotland, one of the most thorough and diverse qualifications in the UK. The loss of a dear friend that year and the deep grieving that unleashed became a transformational stage for me and gave me the push that I needed to step up and allow the Yoga teachings that had supported me so much over the years to be passed on to others. I completed the 2 year (500 hour) course in June 2017 and I'm now living and breathing Yoga and bringing my blend of the teachings out into my local community.

Loren Snow

London

Hi, I'm Loren Snow: an autism trainer based in Bristol. I’ve spent the past decade studying mental health, psychology, relationships, identity, and just about anything to do with why we humans think and act the way we do. I believe that we're all human, and make mistakes, fumble, fall, laugh, love - and despite our differences, we all share this same connection. I'm a strong believer in having the courage to be open and honest and that our truth and vulnerability can be powerful forces in showing us how connected we really are. In my early-twenties I was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and OCD. For me, these were revelations, and all the strange ways I behaved started to make sense. But why in my twenties... surely someone should have noticed or said something?!? As I came to learn more about autism I soon realised that my experience was all too common. The reality is there are many complicated things around autism, such as echolalia, alexithymia, and proprioception; there are many misconceptions in the media, such as autistic people lacking empathy; and there are many mis/un-diagnosed autistic adults out there like I used to be. This made me decide that I should explain these things so others wouldn't have to struggle as I did. I've spoken on podcasts, radio, to large and small crowds. My YouTube videos have been watched by tens of thousands! I've taught thousands of parents of autistic and ADHD children and teach regular courses to parents and autistic people. I see many businesses confused about how to help, parents lost on what to believe, and autistic people struggling to understand themselves. So what better place to learn about autism than directly from an autistic person like myself!

Parkside School is a wonderful environment where children’s curiosity is awakened. Their journey is one of discovery; where talents and passions are nurtured and developed, and our pupils are encouraged to embrace risk-taking and take responsibility for their learning. They develop the courage to rise to each challenge, persevere when the going gets tough and face their fears with confidence. We catch them when they fall, show them what they have learnt from this and guide them back on their individual journey; whilst instilling an appetite for embracing challenge. The positive message of 'make it happen’ underpins our whole approach to each pupil’s learning journey and becomes the driving force for success in whatever they aspire to achieve. Inspired teaching, passionate and dedicated staff, beautiful grounds totalling 45 acres and excellent facilities ensure we deliver a dynamic and innovative curriculum that creates 'light bulb' moments and ignites that spark of curiosity. Academic excellence, outstanding sporting achievements, dynamic technological enterprise and exciting performing arts are all underpinned by exceptional pastoral care. Parkside pupils flourish and are valued as individuals; happy, aspirational and confident, as they move to their senior school. It matters that I know each pupil, as one parent recently said "Ms Janssen strikes a balance of achieving good results but doing it in a way that is good for the boys – she knows how boys work." Our pupils see their future in terms of unlimited options rather than curtailed ambitions. ‘Make it Happen’ is my mantra, and is lived throughout our Parkside family. Don’t just take my word for it, come and visit us to see how your child would thrive in such a happy place. I would be delighted to welcome you for an individual or live virtual tour.

Whether it was singing karaoke, listening to audiobooks, or devising a radio station in his bedroom, Mark has always appreciated the power of the human voice. His love for radio started at a local level, in the glory-days of personality-based breakfast radio. That love affair was sparked at his city’s famous BRMB, but a succession of cost-cutting measures, takeovers, and technological advances would slowly snuff out that candle. Episode one Mark studied Media & Communication at Birmingham City University, specialising in Internet radio. He graduated the year the term “podcasting” was coined, but it would be a further four years before he’d pluck up the courage to pick up a mic and plug it into the Internet. But in 2008, the podcast bug finally bit, and Mark started what would be a 14+ year career helping people make podcasts, first in exchange for beer, and then for money. The little company with the robot fist for a logo In 2016 Mark founded the media hosting company Podiant, which took him to the British Podcast Awards, and saw him present at International Podcast Day in 2020. The product served millions of listeners across thousands of podcasts, and in 2021 Mark sold Podiant so he could focus on working more closely with individuals and small teams, to set them up for podcasting success from day one. From the ear to the brain to the heart Mark founded Origin in 2021 to help impact entrepreneurs build trust with their audiences, and catalyse change. He does this through a combination of consulting, training, coaching, and production. It centres around driving messages from the ear to the brain, where – through consistency and authenticity – they eventually land in listeners’ hearts.

I would like to introduce myself, Melanie Priestley, Chief Executive of St. Mary’s Academy Trust. I am proud to lead our nine primary schools, which are based throughout Barnsley. I am passionate about supporting all of our schools in order to make a real difference to our local communities and to help them thrive. At St. Mary’s Academy Trust we inspire all of our children to have high aspirations and encourage them to see opportunities; not barriers or obstacles. We deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of our individual communities. We pride ourselves not only on high educational outcomes but on providing our children with a variety of experiences and opportunities, the resilience to face challenges and the skills to succeed. By enabling all of our children to realise that they have many choices open to them in life; we prepare them to step out into the world as responsible citizens with the Trust values and Christian ethos instilled within them. We believe our children can make a difference to society and our future. Our Trust does not stop at the school gate. It is our public duty to work alongside our local communities to ensure a better world for all. We have a collaborative approach to learning across our SMAT family and firmly believe that we all have a lot to learn from each other. We look after and support each other to improve in all aspects of what we do and provide people with the confidence, compassion and courage to succeed and be whoever they want to be. We work to instil a passion and pride in all those within our care – children, staff and families – for where they live and who they are. Our communities have many opportunities to offer us all. Our desire is to ignite a spark in all who work with us.

At Allestree Woodlands, we pride ourselves on the warm and friendly atmosphere of the school. Relationships are important and we work to ensure that every student feels safe and happy. We strive for the best achievements for our students and believe that every young person deserves the chance to feel successful at school. Our school aims are summed up in our mission statement: Enabling aspiration and achievement for all, through delivery of a knowledge-rich curriculum underpinned by our CORE values: COURAGE OPTIMISM REGARD ENDEAVOUR This means that staff at Allestree Woodlands continue to review and improve our curriculum to ensure that knowledge acquisition is clear, coherent and that year on year learning builds on what has gone before so that students feel that they are moving forward and knowing more. As I have said to our students, this acquisition of knowledge gives power and confidence to believe in ourselves and put ourselves in new, unfamiliar, challenging and exciting situations in the future. We seek to equip all of our students to use their knowledge to plan for and achieve their next steps and to be aspirational for their futures. To do this, we must both support and challenge all young people to aspire, to dream of what might lie ahead and to work hard to make those ambitious goals possible. Why settle for less than our very best? When aspiration and hard work are combined, people achieve amazing things. We are lucky to be a thriving school with a growing intake, a wide level 3 subject offer at post-16, superb extra-curricular opportunities in sports, technology and the creative and performing arts as well as possessing tremendous facilities. If you would like to know more, take a look at our website or arrange a visit. We have open evenings planned for this half-term for prospective students and their parents and you are most welcome to come along and get a feel for what Allestree Woodlands is all about.
