We offer a wide range of support to both patients and hospitals. That includes practical support such as our parent packs, ad hoc support for hospitals, mental health support for patients, and much more. It’s Good 2 Give works in partnership with hospitals and patient organisations to deliver the assistance that young patients and their families need. We have funded two full-time psychologist posts in Edinburgh to support mental health, and aim to expand provision to Glasgow, recognising the importance of mental well-being in the patient journey.

I have been working in Education for 17 years. I have taught in four very different schools. I spent much of the first decade of my career in West Lothian. I then came to Glasgow to take up the Principal Teacher of Maths role at Hillhead High School, where I stayed for 3 and a half years. I then spent 18 months working for La Salle Education, delivering CPD and training across Scotland. However, the call of the classroom never left… I am now Principal Teacher of Maths at Holyrood Secondary in Glasgow. I am the author of “Mathematical Tasks – The Bridge from Teaching to Learning”, along with Mark McCourt. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME Bethany Nicholls is a dog and horse trainer covering central Scotland and beyond. She started horse training prior to her first degree on a yard where she was first introduced to Equitation Science, through Jody Hartstone. After completing her BSc (hons) at Lincoln University she went into veterinary diagnostics and research, continuing to expand her training interests and techniques with her own dogs. In 2016 she moved to West Lothian and became a trainer with a local training club, and in 2018 started her MSc in clinical animal behaviour at Edinburgh University, specialising in Canine and Equine. She has already achieved her PG Cert and is on track to gain PG Dip by 2020 and complete her MSc by 2021. She regularly attends conferences and CPD outside of studying to continually improve her practical training knowledge and repertoire.

Our school supports students in developing creative confidence and finding courage through a range of icon painting courses and workshops open to students at all levels. Edinburgh School of Icon Painting was founded in September 2013. It is a small school based in the artist hub St. Margaret's House. The school mission is to teach icon painting (writing) to people of all different backgrounds but at the same time maintaining the ethos and essence of it's spirituality. Introducing this unique form of art to students of the school I introduce a way of practising art which is different the other forms of art and it is said to be more then just art. Students learn egg tempera technique which has been used in art for centuries and it is one of the most lasting painting techniques. There are still reasonably well preserved icons from VI Century. Egg tempera involves preparing own paints using egg yolk and dry pigments. Through the whole process of work we try to limit synthetic materials. Using organic materials helps to develop a connection with nature and in consequence with the Divine. Basia Mindewicz - founder and teacher. Born in 1978. Graduated from The Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education, MA and College of Iconography (Policealne Studium Ikonograficzne) in Bielsk Podlaski in 2008. Billy and Gillian Plenderleith are local to the 3 Towns Area (Ardrossan, Saltcoats & Stevenston) in Ayrshire; Billy was born and raised in Stevenston and Gillian in Ardrossan. Billy and Gillian have always had a keen interest in animals; from growing up with the family dogs and other pets including hamsters, budgies, guinea pigs and rabbits, to other hobbies including keeping tropical fish for Billy and horse-riding for Gillian. In 1980, Billy gained a keen interest in working with dogs when he went along with Lance, his first yellow Labrador dog, to a nearby dog obedience training club. Billy was determined to be a responsible dog owner and wanted to have a pet that he could take anywhere even then. He and Lance learned together and Billy was hooked. Following the addition of Sam and Clairey, two Golden Retrievers, Billy did well in Competitive Obedience, dabbled in Fun Agility and tried his hand at Showing. Whilst he enjoyed all these activities, Billy was introduced to gun dog work; this is where his real enthusiasm lay. Billy moved on to win awards in Working Gun Dog Tests and Field Trials with a variety of his dogs. Billy was also invited to be part of the representative team for The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland with both Sam and Clairey; a great honour.

I grew up in Nairn, A lovely town in the North East of Scotland that boasts a stunning beach and sea views over to the Black Isle. I loved art in school and was lucky to have inspirational art teachers in high school. I spent a year at Inverness College getting an art portfolio ready for applying to art school. Art school never did happen and instead I started work full time in a porcelain factory, life then took over and art was put on the back burner for many, many years. My career included working in primary schools and nurseries where the highlight of the job was art classes with the kids! Around 2014 I got my sketch books out again and started dabbling with different mediums. I was introduced to needle felting through a colleague at work, and the rest is history! 8 years on I feel very luck to spend my entire working week making and selling my art, currently from my lovely wee gallery in the heart of the village of Drumnadrochit. I also supply printed versions of my work on a range of home and gift ware to shops all over the country, this helps to get my images seen by a wider audience and in turn brings in commission work. Being creative is something I can’t live without. I feel like a piece of me is missing if I don’t have some project on the go. Art is my passion.
