Keeping Well in South East London (KWSEL)

Keeping Well in South East London (KWSEL) is a partnership between the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Services provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas), Bromley Healthcare and Mind (Bexley). The KWSEL hub was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the considerable challenges and stresses experienced by health and care professionals. Keeping Well in SEL support is available to all staff delivering health and care services across SEL. This includes a universal offer through a digital portal which includes access to self-help resources, self-assessment, live chat and a community forum. We also offer telephone mental health assessments if you think you need psychological support, and wellbeing conversations if you need someone to talk to. The Keeping Well service is here to provide wellbeing and psychological support to: All NHS staff in South East London All staff in care/residential homes in South East London All voluntary sector staff in South East London, so long as some NHS/social care funding is allocated to your health and care organisation. Read more about how it works and who the service is for. South East London is defined as Southwark, Lewisham, Lambeth, Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley. If you do not work in any of these London boroughs but would like support, there are other wellbeing hubs that you can access.

Aileen has built her medical practice as a doctor with an emphasis on health rather than just disease. She has worked as a GP, as a Specialty doctor at the NHS Centre for Integrative Care and at Bupa Health Assessment clinics. Alongside her clinical work she sits on tribunals for disability benefits to ensure that patients receive the help that they are entitled to. Her experience with working with patients with chronic diseases has led to an understanding and empathy towards those living with these conditions and the additional support that is required. In recent years she has also become involved in medical education with the hope of helping a new generation of doctors understand the changing healthcare needs of our society and how to strive for health amidst illness and disease. Aileen lives with her partner and 3 children. She is committed to continue learning how to take care of her own health needs while working in a demanding profession and balancing raising a family, understanding the demands and barriers for change that we all experience. She personally practises mindfulness and runs regularly to maintain her physical and mental wellbeing. She is a believer that you have to practise what you preach and often shares her own experiences and challenges with her patients to try and help improve self-compassion, acceptance and make change achievable where possible.

The ASEAN Network for Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership (ANGEL) is co-funded with the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union (Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education). ANGEL project is a convergence of ASEAN partner institutions’ responses to the strong need for capacity-building while confronting challenges of environmental degradation. In addition, ANGEL aims to support graduates as well as disadvantaged groups to attain a decent income which is derived from quality employment, and enhanced with entrepreneurial-leadership skills. Another goal is to help improve inclusiveness, because gender and other demographic divides exist and derail wealth creation across the ASEAN nations. The mission of ANGEL is to engender impact and transformation for two major target stakeholders of each partner institution in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Malaysia. The first target group is the internal stakeholders, namely students, academic and non-academic staff, and top management. Within the context of Southeast Asian institutions, the green entrepreneurial mindset and transformational leadership skills and competencies are still new concepts and less implemented. The second target group of ANGEL are the disadvantaged groups within societies in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Malaysia. This includes women and minorities, poor income groups in both urban and rural communities as well as people with disabilities (PWD). The Asian partners are supported by universities and institutions from Greece and Cyprus.
