We believe you can recover from your injury or illness despite being told otherwise. We believe when your pain is gone, you have a future full of possibility. WHY? BECAUSE WE’VE DONE IT OURSELVES BUT – It takes more than regular exercise and clean eating to be truly healthy. Taking charge of your health and lifestyle means making changes, some changes may be permanent, others are temporary. Ayurveda has a great phrase ‘like attracts like and opposites balance’ when we do too much of one thing it can lead us down the path of disease, introduce the opposite (often the things we don’t want to do) and we create balance and true health. I’m not here to count calories, make you run every day and guarantee you a six-pack. I am here to focus on your health. I won’t focus on the physical appearance but investigate what’s going on under the skin, the parts you don’t see. I investigate how your digestive system is functioning for your body to absorb the nutrients from your food and build your tissues. I look at the root cause and uncover those symptoms that may have been around for so long that it becomes normal. JOANN BUCHAN – Ayurveda Practitioner, yoga teacher, therapist. I had surgery on my hip at the age of 30 and expected everything to be perfect after that. Surgery would be the answer to all my pain. I was entirely unprepared for the length of the recovery, mental struggle and frustrations of not being able to do what I had previously done. I still felt so exhausted and still in pain. I discovered something unique; How often have you said, “I’m getting there”? Where are you going? There is no there. You are already there, whatever that step of the journey is for you. There will always be a next step and a next step, a different season of the environment or season in our lives. We will always need to learn to adapt, change, and grow. It’s in our nature as humans to grow and evolve. I’ve been around the world, learning from some of the most innovative thinkers, teachers and healers. Soaking up their wisdom and applying it to my injuries and imbalances as well as helping my clients. I’ve worked in my private practice for seven years as well as delivering programs in schools, corporate, taught workshops. We are physically based in the Stranmillis area of South Belfast but we serve all the people of Belfast. We are guided by our Christian ethos and a desire to serve our community and respond to the changing needs of the people in our city. In order to achieve our objectives, we carry out the following activities: Faith Development – enabling those who come to faith in Jesus Christ to grow in their relationship with Him and to the church. We host a church on our premises. Our Christian faith underpins all other aspects of our work and encourages us to work inclusively, with care and love and with particular focus on vulnerable groups, including young people. Youth Development – providing training, information and support to young people. Annually, our youth team engage with around 900 young people across a suite of projects. We deliver schools-based Good Relations training, an internet safety project, sixth form enrichment training, and shared education. Our centre based projects include the Duke of Edinburgh Award/Gaisce – The President's Award, volunteer training, the NI National Citizen Service project and Youth in Government. Family Support – providing childcare, after school programmes and holiday clubs. Health & Fitness – providing facilities for sport and fitness for a healthy lifestyle. Community Engagement – promoting reconciliation through responding to the hurts and issues facing people in a divided community which is emerging from conflict. Social Enterprise – developing initiatives which meet our charitable objectives through providing a viable service to the community. All income generated is invested back into our charitable projects.

About the Migration Museum The Migration Museum explores how the movement of people to and from Britain across the ages has shaped who we are – as individuals, as communities, and as a nation. Migration is a pressing contemporary issue and is at the centre of polarised political and online debate. But there’s an underlying story of comings and goings stretching back many centuries. And this story goes to the heart of who we are today. Britain has thousands of museums, but none comprehensively focused on this important theme that connects us all. The time is right for a highly relevant, accessible visitor attraction that shines a light on who we are, where we come from and where we are going. From our current home in the heart of Lewisham Shopping Centre, we stage engaging exhibitions and dynamic events, alongside a far-reaching education programme for primary, secondary, university and adult learners. We have a growing digital presence and convene a knowledge-sharing Migration Network of museums and galleries across the UK. The story so far The Migration Museum was founded by Barbara Roche, who first made the case for a migration museum for Britain almost 20 years ago, stemming from her time as Britain’s immigration minister, and from visiting similar museums in other parts of the world – notably Ellis Island in New York. Barbara assembled a founding team of people from different professional backgrounds who shared her passionate belief that Britain’s migration history should be placed at the heart of our national story. Together, they began to scope what a national migration museum might look like. Sophie Henderson, a former immigration judge and barrister, came on board as Director in 2013. Between 2013 and 2017, the Migration Museum staged pop-up exhibitions and events and ran education workshops at a wide range of venues across the UK, including the Southbank Centre, the National Maritime Museum and City Hall in London, the Museum of Oxford, Leicester railway station, and the National Records of Scotland in Edinburgh. Royal Mile Primary School is an inner-city school in the heart of Edinburgh. We pride ourselves on the diversity within our school community. Overall, our classrooms are well resourced, we have an inspiring library with an extensive genre, multi-purpose room that host music tuition, social and communication groups etc. The school is situated on the Royal Mile in the heart of the old town providing us with a range of modern and historical opportunities to enhance learning experiences for our learners. We are keen to develop outdoor learning using this space and will consider how best we can build up sustainable environment options. At Royal Mile Primary School, the dedicated staff are committed to providing students with a broad and practical learning experience. Teaching staff are keen to take on leadership roles that involve whole school initiatives. We aim to continue to implement technologies across all stages, community engagement and improved learning that meet the needs of students in the 21st century. The school works closely to build on home-school-community partnerships. Community engagement builds on the strong foundations of Literacy and Numeracy at Royal Mile and are a priority for our school. We have formed strong partnerships with Canongate Youth, Holyrood Palace, Scottish Poetry Centre. Our school wishes to strengthen our community of learners to maximise the participation of all stakeholders – students, families and the wider community and promote our school as a centre of excellence, opportunity and inclusion. At Royal Mile Primary we have used a range of data to focus on improvement through Self-Evaluation. Information gathered from feedback across the school community is used to help inform improvement planning as well as data from assessment. Termly learning, teaching and assessment meetings take place between SLT, class teachers and support staff using standardised assessments and professional judgements which help identify priorities to take forward and to identify learners who may require targeted support. All staff participate in an annual performance conversations to identify opportunities for career long professional learning linked to our school priorities. Observations and sharing classroom practice are used to identify and share effective teaching and learning across our school.
