Northants Combination The Northamptonshire Combination Football League was formed in 1953 when the Mid Northants League and the Central Village League merged to become the Central Northants Football Combination the current name change was made in 1991. Historically the league consisted of mainly village teams in around Northampton playing on private/parish council grounds. Consequently the Northamptonshire Combination now accommodates a wide range of teams, many from provincial towns using municipal facilities. This has resulted in the league becoming the predominate provider of Saturday 11v11 Adult football in the county. The league provides competitive football across a wide range of abilities in 5 divisions. The league has also worked hard to improve facilities and achieve Step 7 status, which has enabled several clubs to progress up the pyramid. Recently the league has developed its links with youth leagues in order to help facilitate the transition to adult football. The leagues management committee consists of elected league officers and representatives from member clubs. Three mandatory meetings are held each year with member clubs in order to ascertain requirements and developed the league.

Starlight Academy is a dance and performance school based at The Dance Mill, a purpose built dance and fitness centre in Guiseley, Leeds, founded in 2008 by Melanie Hadfield-Walker and Christine Cade. We offer a full range of classes, helping to build confidence, strong dance technique and training for the stage. We have classes suitable for all age groups, from pre school to young adult. Exams can be taken in tap and modern though the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus classical ballet through the Associated Board of Dance (ABD) syllabus. Acro exams are offered through Acrobatic Arts, and Musical Theatre and Contemporary exams with ABD. Cheer classes following BGU. We are an accredited Acrobatic Arts school, offering Acro classes from age 5 with Miss Mel, who is one of only 5 UK Acrobatic Arts examiners and course conductors, or Miss Christine who holds her module 2 Acrobatic Arts qualification, or Miss Alison who holds her module 1 AA qualification. Other classes include Commercial Jazz, Musical Theatre, Singing, Contemporary, Lyrical, Showstars, Ballet Tots and Funky Monkeys, our specially designed Pre-school program.

We follow the structured examination syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance and pupils are entered for examinations from Pre Primary to Advanced 2 level. However exams are not compulsory, importance is placed on enjoyment and appreciation of dance as a physical and expressive activity and art form. Body conditioning is incorporated into all classes from Grade 1 to Advanced 2 level. Contemporary Dance is also offered and considered an important part of the training of a classical dancer. The new Rambert Grades training program was introduced in 2020. Pupils are accepted into the school from 3 years of age and all are invited to take part in the school’s own production which is held approximately every two years at the Nottingham Playhouse. On return to UK they started Gedling Ballet School at the community centre on Shearing Hill in 1985, transferring to its present home at the Memorial Hall in 1986. Both of their daughters, Sarah and Susie, progressed from Gedling Ballet School to train full-time at the Royal Ballet School (White Lodge) and at Elmhurst Assoc. School of Birmingham Royal Ballet. Alongside a passion for dance and teaching at Gedling Ballet School, Dawn trained at Nottingham University as a Physiotherapist and worked within the NHS for a number of years. Dawn attends training events held by the RAD and Royal Ballet School and has completed the Royal Ballet School Inspire Series 1 and the first seminar of Inspire To Be Series 2. A former member of the RAD committee for the Midlands and East of England region and awarded life membership of the RAD in 2020 after 42 years of membership. Susie King Former pupil of Gedling Ballet School, performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet in a number of productions notably as young Morgan le Fay in the Ballet 'Arthur' at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and on UK tour with BRB. A Royal Ballet Associate student Susie at age 14 accepted a scholarship place at Elmhurst Assoc. School of Birmingham Royal Ballet, and then completed her training at Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, BA (Hons) followed by Rambert MA. Professional work includes Ballet Theatre UK, Ampersandance, Royal Shakespeare Company and Medea with English National Opera at the London Coliseum. Former ballet coach at the National Ice Arena and dance teacher at NCN, Susie now also teaches for dance schools based in London and Watford. Susie is a qualified and registered teacher with the RAD and BBO Dance, and is a member of the new Rambert Grades training programme (Rambert Grades is accredited by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations Ofqual). Contemporary Dance Jeremy King Trained London School of Contemporary Dance. Former member of Lynx Dance Company and English Bach Festival Company. Taught at Centro Internazionale di Danza Italy, and various schools and colleges in the UK including Welsh College of Music and Drama. Lauren is a qualified and registered teacher with the IDTA. Lauren is also a certified teacher of PBT Adult Syllabus. Lauren teaches extensively across Nottingham delivering classes in settings such as Nursery/Pre-Schools, Primary Schools and Extra Curricula Dance Schools and Gymnastics Clubs. Lauren is now a teaching a mid week pre school class at Gedling Ballet School. Please carefully review our updated policies and procedures up on booking Our studios are situated on Sutherland Road in Longton, Stoke on Trent and the second premises on Oak Street in Crewe (map can be found on the Crewe page). Pole Fit is one of the largest Pole dance studios in the Uk, and has been running since 2005. Classes are available for children from six years old (pole), seven years old (aerial) and adult classes are from age 16 plus The space boasts a large main pole class area, pole practice area, and a large aerial area. The main pole area have 14 static poles, with grip sizes 36-52mm, stainless steel and chrome to suit all the customers’ different needs. We have five stage poles in which we use to perform on outside of the studio. The Aerial areas have silks, aerial hoops, aerial nets, trapeze and aerial cubes. Each area has safety matting provided. The Longton studio is open every day and the Crewe studio opens Friday to Sunday. We have seventeen experienced instructors and each has undertaken Pole Fit Teacher Training and has current public liability insurance.

Work Skills Learning was established in 2005. We teach children, young people and adult students in different settings. We enable them to develop new skills and achieve qualifications to secure their entry into the world of work. At Work Skills Learning all learners are valued as individuals, and we use innovative ideas and practices to maximise their potential. Children & Young People Aged 16 – 25: Work Skills Learning provides a range of educational opportunities for children and young people facing barriers to their education. Our provisions are co-educational and cater for those who may have special educational needs associated with communication and interaction, cognition and learning, and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Adult Learners: Work Skills Learning offers a variety of accredited courses for those looking to gain recognised skills qualifications acquired whilst working in their sector or for those just starting out on a new path. All courses aim to boost the confidence and improve the skills of course participants. Work Skills Learning works with a variety of partners on multiple sites across London. Our Past Work Skills Learning was founded in 2005 by Dayo Adeagbo. From 2000-2005 Dayo was the Head of Education at Feltham Young Offenders, responsible for providing education for children aged 11-17 and 18-21. In 2006 Work Skills Learning started providing academic and vocational courses for children and young adults. Another major development was our partnership with Hackney Learning Trust and The Urswick School, which continues to the present day, where we teach adult classes on Saturday mornings. Work Skills Learning has delivered a wide range of courses, to communities across Hackney. One of the most significant developments has been our work to train teaching assistants. Our Present We have extended our work with Local Authorities with the aim of helping as many children and young people as possible. We work closely with each child to ensure that they can play a full part in society and to give them the additional skills to move forward with their lives. We have facilities to deliver a wide curriculum from Entry Level to GCSE and beyond, as well as accredited skills-based courses, including an Arts & Crafts facility, music, design and ICT, all designed to give our students the best possible chance in gaining new qualifications. We are in our 10th year of delivering adult courses for individuals who wish to establish a career as a teaching assistant. This is offered to all schools, which enables us to train those who are already in the workforce, helping them to achieve career progression, using our specialism in SEN to support their learning. We have outstanding specialists who deliver the course with us. To date we have taught over 600 students, many of whom are now working in schools across London. This has been life changing for many of those who have studied with us.
