Hong Zhou obtained a bachelor's degree in Western Medicine (MBBS) and was
granted two scholarships to complete a master's degree in Health Science (MSc)
and postgraduate diploma in public health (MPH) in Finland, at King's College,
London and Northumbria University. She also won an "International Student Prize"
in Finland. Hong worked for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Centers (BCSC),
including the largest BCSC in London. It offered bowel cancer screening to over
one million residents in six boroughs to promote early diagnosis of bowel cancer
thus to reduce its mortality. One of her key tasks was compiling evidence based
training materials and delivering training to healthcare professionals,
including pharmacists, Community Mental Health Teams, Community Drug and Alcohol
Teams, targeted screening population, community and voluntary organisations and
more.
