Education and Employers is a UK based charity launched in 2009 which aims to“provide young people with the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential”. The charity believes that every young person in our country, wherever they live, whatever their parents or carers’ circumstances, should have the opportunity to meet a diverse range of volunteers and hear first-hand about jobs and the world of work. To help make this happen the charity works with state schools, employers, the national bodies that represent them and a wide range of other partners including the government and third sector organisations. Its flagship service, Inspiring the Future, uses innovative online match-making technology to connect schools and colleges across the country with tens of thousands of volunteers working in different sectors – for free. These volunteers, from a huge range of jobs – from app designers to zoologists, and at all levels – from apprentices to CEOs, have signed up to share their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm about their jobs with young people. The charity’s research has shown that meeting people from the world of work helps to broaden young people’s horizons, raise their aspirations and increase motivation to learn which leads to improvements in attainment. It also helps tackle the ingrained stereotypical views children often have about the jobs people do based on their gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background. People can volunteer from an hour a year in a local primary (Primary Futures) or secondary school to chat informally, either in person or virtually, about their job and career route, take part in career speed networking sessions, give young people careers insights, mock interviews or feedback on CVs. There is also the opportunity to link up with schools for workplace visits, job shadowing, and mentoring. Tens of thousands of volunteers have enabled over two million interactions between volunteers and young people to date. Inspiring Governance launched in 2016 and is funded by the Department for Education. The free matching service connects highly skilled volunteers who wish to become governors or trustees with state schools across England, helping to increase the diversity of governing boards and raise school standards. Education and Employers also undertakes research into the effectiveness of employer engagement in education. It aims to bring together academics, researchers, policymakers and practitioners from around the world to consider what interventions have most impact.

I have been working in he fitness industry for about 12 years and have experience teaching fitness in leisure centres, gyms, schools, care homes and village halls. I am passionate about what I do; I love how exercise makes me feel physically and mentally and I really enjoy sharing this and helping my participants to achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be. I am qualified in a range of fitness options including Exercise to Music, Gym Instructing, Indoor Cycling, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, Kid’s Zumba, Kettlebells, Fitness Pilates, Fitness Pilates for older adults, Level 3 Pilates, Pilates for Orthopaedic Conditions, Chair Based Exercise, BuggyBeat and Children’s Fitness. I love taking new fitness courses and believe passionately that, as fitness professionals, it is important to keep things fresh and continue to learn and update our knowledge and skills, to provide quality fitness experiences for participants. The vast majority of the classes I teach are now online. I love the flexibility this brings my participants and it's the perfect place to bring creativity into my classes. Not hiring halls, means that I can keep costs low for participants and offer a wide range of classes for excellent value for money. I am currently teaching the following classes online: HIIT, Strong Nation, Lift Lean, Fitness Pilates and Zumba Gold. I also teach a weekly bonus class, which could be any sort of class from aerobics to stretch. I also have ready made packages on offer, including a "Wonder Women's Wellness" package for peri and post menopausal women and a package of classes, designed just for beginners. If you want to be different, just be yourself" Living and being brought up on a hill top farm in Yorkshire. Having a life-long interest in the countryside, health, well-being, affordability, cruelty-free products and using natural products where possible, I bring the best to my clients by doing the best for the environment in the process. A little about me… I studied rural science at school which I enjoyed as it covered life cycle of native animals, plants and trees, natural habitat, conservation and land management at a basic level, art and history also firm favourites. In my late twenties I decided to return to college to pursue a career in hairdressing and soon to be followed, by a two year course in beauty therapy. My passion for natural source of healing combined with plant extracts and massage therapy was realised. At this point I was working full time in a local beauty salon in Skipton, returning to Craven College to study aromatherapy part time for a further year. After gaining valuable experience in the beauty salon, whilst having a young family I worked part time for Next PLC Skipton. This position built my confidence, varied retail business and social skills, working with amazing colleagues, as a sales adviser occasionally a weekend manager. Moving forward I started my own business as a beauty and holistic therapist treating my clients in their own homes or local businesses. Always interested in building and growing my business, I have further trained in several holistic therapies, which include aromatherapy individual blends. I am also a qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor with my own classes in Skipton, Craven and Keighley, support local community wellbeing organisations providing healthy lifestyle activities. My family, friends and clients have always helped and encourage me with my career choice, offering to be guinea pigs when I have required models for new treatments and accepting my flexible working hours. In the past I offered my expertise as a volunteer complementary therapist, aromatherapy practitioner at the local wellbeing cancer support centre in Skipton. I have also held the volunteer position of chairlady of SWIFT (Support Women Inspiring Friendship Training) a local (Skipton Craven Keighley) small business networking group formally known as WorcNet supporting small businesses, charities, local organisations and groups. Due to the pandemic the networking group no longer exists.

Autism Anglia is an independent charity that provides care and support to autistic children, adults, and their families in East Anglia. Services in Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, managed from office in Colchester, offer personalised approaches that provide each individual with the necessary skills and strategies to enable them to realise their own strengths and abilities. The charity also seeks to promote greater knowledge and understanding of autism through training, education, and supplying information to the public and professionals. We offer numerous services for autistic people and their families, including: The origins of the charity started back in the early 1970s with families living in Essex and Norfolk independently realising that there was no specialist provision for their children who were on the Autism Spectrum. This lack of provision resulted in two entirely separate organisations being operated and managed up until 2008 when negotiations brought about the successful merger and the formation of Autism Anglia. From similar beginnings to where you find us now; here are the key points. 1970 The Norwich and Norfolk Society for Autistic Children was formed by five families affected by autism. 1973 Two sets of parents with newly diagnosed children setup up the Essex Society for Autistic Children. 1977 Doucecroft School opened in Kelvedon for children up to 16 years old. 1983 Provision extended to include services for young adults with an Adult Life Care Centre and the name was changed to The Essex Autistic Society. Norfolk Autistic Community Housing Association (NACHA) formed to provide residential homes to people with autism. The Norwich and Norfolk Society for Autistic Children changed its name to the Norfolk Autistic Society. 1994 The Norfolk Autistic Society Trust Fund established to benefit people with autism and their families. 1999 Further Education facilities for 16-19-year-olds given a dedicated campus in Kelvedon. 2004 Family Support service launched to help individuals and families affected by autism. Through collaboration, the Norfolk Autistic Society provided short breaks for children with autism and learning disabilities. 2005 Doucecroft School moved from Kelvedon to purpose-built facilities in Eight Ash Green, Colchester. 2008 NACHA merged with The Essex Autistic Society and the new charity changed its name on 1 May to Autism Anglia which better reflected its area of operation. The Norfolk Autistic Society merged with Autism Anglia. 2019 Relocation of our Century House Colchester Office a short walk away to North Hill.

BushKraft Forest School CIC (Community Interest Company) is a NON profit organisation working with people of all ages and abilities. We also work with and in partnership with other organisations including schools, social care and charities. A CIC is usually formed from people with a passion to want to try and alleviate problems that have identified in there local area or area of expertise. BushKraft is no different and wants to tackle the social issues, build confidence in everyone and improve peoples opportunities and situations. One of our skills is keeping families together and promoting well being, positive communication, positiveness and bonding as a unit rather than individuals. Most companies are formed to make money for the directors and share holders. A CIC is formed to help the community around its existence. When you pay a Community Interest Company you are helping others by us putting our profits back into the community. A CIC has to do this like a charity and is regulated with rules from the government and HMRC. Traditional forest school is not by far a new concept. Outdoor leaning and its benefits have been around since 19th century. One of many outdoor educators was Baden Powel who in 1907 formed the scouting organisation which has grown massively into what it is today. Traditional forest school is child led. This does not mean we just let them run wild and boss us around, but we do not set a specific curriculum. We facilitate their learning at a speed and style that suits the individual. Our high ratio's of adult to child allows children to learn and explore the woodland and nature around them. Our mission is to get children outside into nature enjoying themselves, playing with other children. Over the years technology is so advanced, (games consoles get "virtual" reality and mobile phones are really mini computers.) Children are spending less time outdoors especially in the winter months. Although we are not against technology we strongly believe in a child's right to play, explore, take risks, and be part of the natural world around them. Forest school is based more on the process of learning than it is on the content. This means instead of planning each session to the nearest minute, children can go off as things take their interest. More often than not as Forest leaders our planned sessions end up completely unplanned as the children explore nature.

Deborah was born in Yorkshire. She is an award winning contemporary sculptor who specialises in stone. She discovered stone carving in her middle years in the Greenbelt Festival craft tent. Later she went on to study Fine Art and do a years diploma in stone masonry after which she turned professional after the death of her mother in 2015. Her first sculpture teacher said stone was a perfect option as it limited the numerous creative choices she could make as she is led by the stone, using the technique called carving direct, following it’s grain, form and colour. She lives with the rocks until she sees the shape within, then carves until she reaches a skin and the sculpture takes on a life of it’s own. Her works are a unique combination of figurative and abstract forms. Deborah is best known for her alabaster sculptures and also carves in marble and limestones. Deborah seeks convergence between the characteristics of the stone, her growing carving skills and her faith. Carving with hands, head and heart to impute emotion and presence into her pieces. Notable sales have been to the NHS Trust with ‘The Hand of Fannie Storr’ a previous director of nursing, to Sir Malcolm Evans the Chair of the United Nations Anti-Torture Subcommittee, a luxury spa hotel in Portugal and CEO of a large company in the USA. Deborah won the Ashburner Sculpture Prize 2022 for her Stone Totem which was about Connectivity (see website page). Previously in 2020 she received the Sculpture Award and Guest Judges Award with the SWAC, was the winner of the Christian Arts Festival Award, selected for the RWA 168th exhibition and was also a finalist for the Chaiya Arts Awards (exhibited in the London South Bank’s Oxo Gallery). In 2019 she was a finalist for the online Covid-19 IMPACT exhibition. Deborah enjoys working collaboratively with organisations to raise access to the arts in the community. Her work was the basis of the Matson Sculpture festival where she gave workshops in local schools and talks to the community. Her work was part of a charity auction to raise funds for refugees. Deborah is based at Gloucester City Works who are based in an old shirt factory where she leads carving courses for all levels of ability and experience. She welcomes commissions for indoor and outdoor sculptures, for public and private clients.
