Hi, I’m Alison and I’m absolutely delighted to welcome you to Little Bees with Alison! Little Bees is founded and run by me, a mum of two and a primary school teacher of over 16 years, with a huge passion for Early Years Development. During my teaching career, I have specialised in and led Additional Learning Needs and Foundation Phase across the school. I was also identified as an ‘Outstanding Teacher’ and was one of only 8 teachers to be selected across SE Wales to particpate in an ‘Outstanding Teachers’ Programme. After a long battle with infertility, I finally achieved my dream of becoming a Mummy when Joseph was born in 2016. Three years later, we completed our family with Charlotte. I absolutely love teaching and have often thought about other ways I could use my skills whilst also having a positive impact on my local community. I had noticed firsthand the lack of groups for new parents in my local area and the idea of Little Bees started. Having experienced the impact massage had on my own little ones and our bonding, this was something I was excited to share with other new parents and carers. In 2019, I trained with Hands on Babies, the first UK baby massage and baby yoga training organisation to have received accreditation from the Royal College of Midwives for its courses. I enjoyed the massage course so much that upon gaining accreditation, I immediately set to work on completing the lovely yoga course! My mission with ‘Little Bees with Alison’ is to offer friendly and relaxing classes for all parents and carers in a supportive and non-competitive environment within their local community. As a new Mum, I was desperate to not only do lovely activities with my baby, but I was also keen to make new friends. This is exactly what I want to bring to my community with ‘Little Bees’. I completely understand the challenges new parents are going through and thought of supporting them brings me great joy. I am fully insured, DBS checked and have completed training to enable my classes to be ‘Covid-secure.’

My teenage years... IMG_20200922_093644_1.jpg were spent hanging out in the school art department (regardless of what class I was supposed to be in!) and it was there that Mr Alston, my wonderful art teacher directed and nurtured my love of art. Studying Art & Design and then Illustration, was a great foundation to my art career and helped me refine my skills as an artist. But as a naïve graduate, passionately producing illustrations and trying to make it in the freelance world - I soon realised it was going to be more difficult that I thought! I'd been working in Children's Services for 15 years running Youth Participation Projects, managing a Gypsy Roma Traveller Project and delivering a provision of services for the most hard to reach communities. This provided me with the most amazing experiences, as well as allowing me to use my art to benefit these groups. It's been a wonderful journey of learning and a fantastic platform in which to build my business. In 2016 I decided it was time to give up the office job and focus all my time on my community art work. It's been a brilliant time and I'm delighted that I still have daily experiences of working with such amazing people, from our wonderfully interesting communities. I hope that even if it's just in some little way, I am able to make a difference to the lives of those that I work with, through the medium of visual art. Audrey But freelancing for a few years whilst volunteering in the community, opened many new doors and ideas of what I could do with my visual arts. I went on to complete a degree in Community Arts and continued to work with community groups. This is where my love of creating art in the community became well and truly set. My passion for mural painting was formed following the completion of two large scale mural commissions in Scotland. Then with London calling, I completed my next 30 metre indoor mural at a special needs adventure playground in Hackney. In 2007 I was introduced to the medium of mosaic and I just completely fell in love with it!

Our campus includes industry-standard workshops and IT design studios, as well as specialist science labs and state of the art digital engineering equipment. Here at GPUTC, we pride ourselves on our ability to secure outstanding destinations for all of our students. Every one of our leavers has successfully enrolled onto courses or started job roles relevant and appropriate to their individual passions and career aspirations. We are the area’s leading educational establishment for the engineers, architects, scientists and designers of the future, specialising in educating the tech-savvy workforce required for the evolving modern world, in fact over 80% of our leavers continue to study or work in STEM. The most exciting element of the GPUTC experience is our employer-shaped, industry-facing curriculum, giving our students the ability to not just gain vital qualifications, but also giving them the chance to develop the skills and behaviours required to be successful in the workplace. Through these unique and diverse links with industry partners, our students are able to explore, connect, evaluate and justify the best solutions to real-world problems whilst also gaining support and advice from some of the region’s most important employers. Choosing to move schools at any age is a leap of faith. I encourage you to explore what we have to offer by attending Open Events (where you can speak to staff and students about their experiences) and take part in our taster sessions (where prospective students can meet our sponsors and take part in engineering and design challenges). Engineers, architects, scientists and designers must be inquisitive and curious if they are to succeed, so I encourage you and your children to ask questions when you visit. Ask any member of staff or student about our ethos and our vision and I’m certain that you will see the passion we have for our school shining through.

Previous Next Featured Feedback Superbly delivered and very effective Bluecloud was the fourth training company that we called. We wanted to speak to someone that gave us confidence that they had achieved success before and were able to be flexible in their approach. When we spoke to Penny that is exactly what we got! Booking the training has been easy; Penny has been extremely friendly and helpful throughout. When we are promised information we get it, when we are told something will happen, it happens. This has been the way and continues to be the way that Bluecloud conducts their business each and every time we have the pleasure of dealing with them. The training itself has been well structured, superbly delivered and very effective. It is a package you are purchasing when you deal with Bluecloud, not just a day’s training. Finally, I would like to thank you for all your hard work so far. We already have future sessions planned in, that I am sure will be as successful as the ones we have already had this last year. It has been a pleasure dealing with Bluecloud; Penny & her associates.

The Health Creation Alliance (THCA) is in the process of identifying and recruiting a new Chair to lead the organisation over the next 3-6 years and beyond. This follows our current Chair, Dr Brian Fisher’s announcement at our Annual Member Meeting in May, that he will be standing down. Brian has led the organisation over the last four years to its current position of impact and influence: THCA has been instrumental in influencing change on the ground, across systems and at national level and as a result, our profile has increased considerably. We are now looking for an experienced and dynamic Chair who can offer fresh leadership and steer us through the next phases of our growth and development. As the newly empowered Integrated Care Systems are starting to understand how Health Creation can guide whole-system transformation from the bottom up, THCA wants to fulfil its purpose as a national ‘go to’ alliance spreading skills and know-how and enabling professionals across sectors and systems to become equipped to confidently address health inequalities and create the conditions for people and communities to live in good health, through Health Creation. We have many of the elements in place, a significant profile and are gaining ground. Building upon everything we have achieved so far our new Chair will work closely with the Chief Executive and Directors to take the org
