Prosper Life Initiatives started out as an informal women’s group, meeting in each other’s homes to undertake different activities to empower each other and talk about different issues affecting our general-being. As women we realised there were a lot of barriers that hindered our progress to reach our full potential, with some having changed careers to start all over due migration and working in low paid jobs, family pressures, social isolation, lack of support networks and many other challenges. This left many women feeling frustrated, struggling financially and unfulfilled. Coming together to talk about these issues provided only a sense of temporary relief and Prosper emerged out of that need to support one another to change our experiences as women. It’s a platform where women come together, learn, share, inspire and build relationships to make positive changes to improve their well-being and those around them.

Building Bright Futures (BBF) is Vermont’s early childhood public-private partnership charged under Title 33, Chapter 46, and the Federal Head Start Act (Public Law 110-134) as Vermont’s Early Childhood State Advisory Council (SAC) and network, the mechanism used to advise the Governor and legislature on the well-being of children in the prenatal period through age eight and their families. BBF’s mission is to improve the well-being of children and families in Vermont by using evidence to inform policy and bringing voices together across sectors and within regions to discuss critical challenges and problem-solve. BBF maintains the vision and strategic plan for Vermont’s Early Childhood System. Vermont’s vision for the Early Childhood System is to be an integrated continuum of comprehensive, high quality services that is equitable, accessible, and will improve outcomes for each and every Vermont child in the prenatal period to age eight and their families. BBF’s Network infrastructure includes 12 Regional Councils, seven VECAP Committees, and the State Advisory Council.

Guardian Connection was founded for the purpose of providing unique solutions to guardianship challenges facing the elderly and their caregivers. Along with a burgeoning aging population is a rapidly growing demographic of individuals dealing with the debilitating effects of mental decline, dementia, and illness. Family members will often obtain legal guardianship of their loved ones so that they have the ability to provide them with necessary care. Individuals without such willing relatives, however, are dependent on strangers to identify and resolve their guardianship needs. Alone in facilities, they await the appointment of a guardian with the authority to make decisions on their behalf. Continuity of services is essential to the health and long-term prospects of the elderly and disabled. Without a guardian in place, the ability of care providers to offer such continuity is significantly hampered. Previously reliant on an overburdened public system or expensive law firms, care providers and families now turn to Guardian Connection for assistance.

We aspire to make a difference in the lives of thousands of women and families through our services and a part of our support focuses especially on BAME communities, so they can acquire the autonomy required to lead a productive and rewarding life and contribute to the development of their community. We know how important it is to keep a healthy mind to keep a healthy body. Studies have shown that minorities have more difficult access to mental health due to ethnic and cultural barriers such as religious beliefs, urban cultural legends, stereotypes and pre-judgment. From a global perspective, currently, women are considered the weak link in humanity and are often harassed or infantilised, while in reality, it is quite the opposite as women are the engine of this world. Without entering the feminism claimant, we want to support them, accompany them, and motivate them on the importance of their role so that they can fully take their place in this world and flourish. Our History arises from the experiences of our founders. Our Director Board is made of women from different stages of the community who have experienced the same challenges and difficulties as the women we are aiming to support. The board represents a multidisciplinary team that has travelled a lot, speaks several languages, and has mastered several cultures. We have carried out numerous humanitarian actions for 10 years around the world Asia, Africa, Europe, meetings with exceptional women and incredible life stories and success stories.
