The Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe (or RGS for short) is a selective day and boarding grammar school for boys aged 11-18 situated in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. We became an Academy in February 2011. As a state school we do not charge fees for day students to attend, but they must pass an entrance exam, the Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools Secondary Transfer Test (known colloquially as the 11+). I have loved dance all of my life, competing and sitting exams. As a dancer, I have had many experiences - to name a few; MOVEIT Main Stage, MOVEIT class assistant, Got to Dance auditions,, Scottish Ballet assistant with Hansel and Gretel performance Belfast 2017, Dance World Cup Dancer. As a teacher - I am currently I am fully qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance, ISTD Contemporary, Acrobatic Arts, DDMIX, iDance Contemporary, Progressing Ballet Technique and the Associated Board of Dance. While teaching full time I am also studying for another two teaching qualifications to add to the studio. In the first year of opening the school, my dancers auditioned with my choreography and where on Team Northern Ireland 2018 for the Dance World Cup. Currently I have pupils in associate and training programmes in both Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Old Bristolians’ Society exists to allow former pupils and staff to maintain contact with other Old Bristolians, and through the Society allow them to support the work of the School. The Society is a separate body from the School and is run almost exclusively by volunteers. The President holds office for a year: other officers and members of the Management Committee are chosen by election and normally stay in office for a longer period. We are always keen to recruit new faces on to the Committee or hear from Old Bristolians prepared to help with the running of events. In particular, we seek more involvement from young Old Bristolians, especially females, in order to reflect the co-educational status of the School. The BGS Foundation aims to bring long-term additional income to the School through charitable giving. This enables the wider BGS family to give something back so that the next generation of children can benefit from extra resources, facilities and bursaries which could not otherwise be afforded from fee income alone. Support comes from parents, former parents, staff and Governors, Old Bristolians, charitable trusts and foundations which makes a genuine difference to the life of our school. The Old Bristolians’ & Foundation Office would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to serve on the Committee or to participate in some other way. Originally based in the East Midlands town of Towcester, Northamptonshire, we acquired Proactive Technical Training (PTT) Limited in Oct 2016 which is based in Tring in Hertfordshire. The newly acquired premises provides much larger and improved facilities along with on-site parking and it was therefore decided to deliver the majority of our courses from the Tring site from Jan 2017 onwards.
