Who are we? It is the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK)'s purpose to enhance communities, so everyone can enjoy being in, on and around water, safely; because every life is worth saving. Our work is vital in every city, town, community and home. RLSS UK has a proud history of helping to save the number of lives lost to drowning. Our mission is to be the leader in lifesaving and lifeguarding in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Sharing, our expertise and knowledge with as many people as possible, giving everyone the potential to save lives and enjoy water, safely. Here, at the RLSS UK, we have an impressive heritage. We have built up years of experience and, we are honoured, to boast a strong force of loyal members and volunteers who work with us to promote water safety and educate in life saving skills. Our roots were established back in 1891 as the Life Saving Society, and, in the early 1900s, with support from the Royal Family, we were granted permission to adopt the ‘Royal’ to our title – a badge that we are still immensely proud of today. We have used our extensive, world-leading knowledge of water safety and training to develop a comprehensive range of vocational qualifications and a series of awards and education programmes which all have the ultimate aim of preventing drowning and stopping unnecessary loss of life. Our portfolio includes the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - the premier lifeguard training programme.

She founded and operated an upscale interior design and home furnishings consignment store before retiring to NC. Vice-President: Nancy Miller - Nancy, a new resident of SC, recently retired from her professional fundraising career in Baltimore, MD. having worked for Easter Seals, The National Defense University Foundation, and most recently, the American Cancer Society. Treasurer: Janet Payeski - Janet is enjoying the vast opportunities the Grand Strand area offers artists. Formerly a part-time resident, she moved here full-time recently and hopes that her 30-year background in Finance, including Cash Management and Financial Analysis, brings helpful skills to the Treasurer position. Secretary: Lynn Buck - Lynn is a pastel artist and former resident of CT. She became interested in pastels 20 years ago and trained under a local artist. She works mostly in pastel, but also in watercolor and acrylics. She lives in Carolina Shores with her husband, dog and cat. Our goal at ESM is to bring the love of music into all our student's lives in a fun and enjoyable way as well as providing all the necessary skills to pass exams, perform with confidence and compose music and songs. We are very proud to maintain a 100% pass rate in all our student's instrumental and vocal music exams making us Edinburgh's favourite music school for private music lessons. One - to - one tuition Lessons are available for a range of instruments including voice, piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder and drums. We offer one to one private lessons in our studio in Meadowbank or online lessons. Groups We offer a range of music group activities including our Baby music groups (for ages 0-5), youth singing groups, performance coaching workshops and summer school music groups. Please contact us to find out the groups that are currently available. Concerts At ESM we believe that learning to make incredible music is just not as rewarding if you don’t share it with others. We provide monthly showcases at Edinburgh's Jazz Bar in addition to end of term concerts. This gives our students plenty of opportunities to showcase their progress and develops our pupils into confident performers. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions surrounding concerts, we are unable to host any concerts at this time.

Artemis has developed and delivered fire and rescue-related training programs for over five years. Our aim is to help individuals thrive, and organisations grow and prosper.Having created and supported the University of Wolverhampton Fire and Rescue Degree programmes in 2010, Mark Taylor and Tony Prosser, Operations Command Lead & Head of Learning and Development respectively with West Midlands Fire Service, were invited in 2012 to take on the management of the course as an independent provider, a unique proposition in the UK academic community. To facilitate this Artemis Training and Development Limited (ATDL) was incorporated in 2012. Both have a passion for incident command and the Fire and Rescue Service and were subsequently invited to tutor and assess in the command school at the Fire Service College and the Emergency Planning College. The reputation of ATDL for having knowledgeable and committed instructors gained traction and the company was approached to deliver revalidation programmes for several fire and rescue services, a product that did not exist in the UK . Further product development led to a suite of Skills For Justice Awards accredited courses including ICL 1 – 4, Level 5 Train the Trainer for Incident Command, Fire Investigation and other courses including the new Command Support level 4 programme. In order to keep growing our output, associates have been engaged, all with suitable experience, qualifications and enthusiasm, to deliver our incident command courses and the University of Wolverhampton Degree programmes, now running 5 degrees – full time, part-time and distance learning both in the UK and across the globe.
