VBA is a simple and powerful tool designed to be used in almost any conversation with a smoker and allows you to offer practical advice in as little as 30 seconds. VBA training is suitable for anyone likely to come into contact with people who smoke in their day-to-day work. Our free interactive VBA courses are of three types: Introduction to VBA: 30 seconds to save a life: A one-hour introductory session which will cover simple facts about VBA and why it’s important VBA – Level 1 training: a three-hour session looking at more in-depth ways of engaging smokers and empowering them to take action Applying Motivational Techniques workshop – Specialist groups: a one-hour session which will explore how to apply motivational interviewing techniques to enhance communication in specialist groups, e.g. mental health, maternity, vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness etc. Book a place for a free online course that suits you: smokefreeoxon.eventbrite.co.uk. A Level Results Day 2024 saw significant improvement with the proportion of students securing top grades (A* to B) rising by 6% to 58%. 83% of all grades were A* to C (up 8%) providing a strong foundation as students go on to higher education and the world of work. A record number of students will start degree courses at universities including UCL and Oxford. Over half of students have secured places at Russell Group or top 25 ranked UK Universities, and they will complete their studies in subjects ranging from Mechanical Engineering to PPE, and from Design to Psychology. The number of students going on to study either Law or Medicine has increased, showcasing the impact of the school’s Pathways Programmes. Other students hold places on competitive and prestigious degree apprenticeships.
