Hello, I am Heather Collyer. In the last two years, my love for gardening as a practical paid profession has evolved into a life raft, enabling me to slow down the frantic charge of anxious thoughts so that I can see them with a sense of safety and purpose brought about by the invitation and acceptance of being in nature and working with plants. I have developed Mindful Gardening, which has helped me mitigate stress, reap nature's health benefits, and learn how to entwine the gentle gift of being present with plants as my focus and inner well-being. We are a Hackney-based community-interest company focusing on connecting people with the natural world in creative and collaborative ways. Through innovative teaching and experiential learning, Cordwainers Grow hopes to connect and inspire a network of social and environmental innovators. We evolved out of Cordwainers Garden, a community growing space on land belonging to the London College of Fashion in Mare Street. We wanted to make the link with what the staff and students were doing inside the college to the outside so, in 2011 started growing plants for dyeing and to make fibre. The garden closed in April 2019, but Cordwainers Grow continues and we champion sustainable community growing in the face of increased competition for space and inequality of access. always brimming with ideas, armi is a knowledgable and experienced art educator with over 25 years in the post 16 sector, including a level, btec, access, foundation and degree level teaching. you will receive lots of one to one help ensuring success and a sense of achievement. many examples and demonstrations to get you excited and started, you will gain from armi’s extensive knowledge in a variety of creative processes and be amazed by what can be achieved. armi creates a welcoming, friendly and supportive atmosphere, encouraging participants to achieve their full potential while having fun! the large, light, purpose built studio is set in a fabulous contemporary gravel garden, featured in a number of magazines, and creates a great backdrop for the workshops. seasonal plants and flowers are often used as subject matter to draw and print from. a practising artist, armi has been producing her own work since she studied fine art. she specialises in mixed media and textile processes and has shown and sold in many exhibitions, open studios and online. ..a garden that always looks good,even from your window? ..flowers but would like to learn to arrange them better? In 2015 we began The Crafty Gardeners flower and garden school. Both myself, and my dear friend Michelle Wake who sadly passed away in 2020, are award winning garden designers. We always dreamed of creating workshops that offered people a way of expressing their creativity and love of nature’s beauty, both outside or inside their home. And with The Crafty Gardeners we could share our expertise, along with plenty of clever tips on making gardens look amazing or turning a bunch of flowers into a fantastic floral arrangement to appreciate at home. Our garden design workshops cover everything from knowing which are bomb proof plants and how to create beautiful borders to making the most of your garden with the best layout. The flower arranging workshops teach you the techniques a florist would use to make beautiful bouquets or wonderful displays and Christmas wreaths. What better way to feel creative than by being in some of the most inspiring places in the South West such as Bowood House and Gardens , Westonbirt Arboretum and The Walled Garden at Mells. And you’ll have plenty of time to explore them afterwards as our Workshops are half day or short full days – perfect for fitting around our busy lives. Everything for your chosen workshop is included, such as a drawing kit or flowers, foliage and equipment. Suitable for all levels of experience, simply join me and a maximum of 10 others, where I’ll first show you what to do before you have a go yourself, giving you all the time and space to let your creativity grow.

Mission Statement Dr Tosun believes in and works for the expansion of learning, self & professional development provisions that come with creativity, humitas (humour + gravitas) & grace, instead of pain and performance anxiety. Her practice is based on the understanding that skills & wellbeing and the individual & the environment are inseparable. Central to her design of products, educational material, talks & lectures, and coaching practice is this #uniqornway approach, that is relational and integrative.
