Wolverhampton

Our vision is to provide a broad, inclusive health and science curriculum, delivered to the highest standards in partnership with our employer partners. This will ensure that our learners receive personalised, practical experiences, offering opportunities that enrich their experience above and beyond that normally expected and enhancing their employability WE OFFER TOMORROW’S EDUCATION TODAY We’re excited and proud to be the first UTC in the UK to specialise in health care and health science, offering learning and career opportunities for young people like no other school or college in the region. By combining academic study with real-life work projects, personal development activities, and career opportunities our young people will become well-rounded work-ready individuals. They will benefit from a combination of qualified national curriculum teaching and putting their learning into practice in exciting, work-focused projects that are delivered in partnership with employer professionals. We’re able to deliver this ‘tomorrow’s education today’ concept through robust partnerships with major health, education and public sector organisations. This approach supports the development of academic, practical and life skills in our young people, equipping them to meet the demands from employers for good qualifications, transferable skills and a professional attitude to work – whatever career path they eventually choose. We believe that the UTC can provide a set of opportunities and qualifications that will provide an excellent foundation for students to enter the health and care professions. WHAT IS A UTC? University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are government-funded schools with a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) focus. They provide a unique and relevant approach to education, which addresses the changing needs of students and employers in the 21st century. UTCs were established by companies and universities in areas of high demand for talent. Alongside national curriculum teaching, UTCs also offer sought-after vocational and technical qualifications, and benefit from industry-standard equipment and specialist staff to provide students with skills that are valued by employers. The UTC curriculum has a strong emphasis on ‘real life’ project-based learning, which engages students and develops their personal character. Because of this unique offer, UTCs allow for a broad choice of pathways when a student reaches 18 years old: university, higher or degree apprenticeships, or directly into a career.

I first heard of human trafficking in 2010 when a young couple visited our church. They shared about the work they were doing overseas to help young women that were caught in human trafficking. What they shared that morning took me by surprise, as I couldn't believe that slavery still existed. In my mind, slavery was a thing of the past, but as they shared about their work and the stories of the women they were helping, I felt the need to do something. At that time, I was working in a sales and marketing role at a local engineering and manufacturing company. It was a position that afforded my young family comfort, stability, and even a few luxuries. Over the course of two years, I deliberated what my role should be to help those enslaved. I knew I needed to be a part of the solution and not sit idly by. Growing up in Ukraine as a missionary kid, I learned from my parents what it meant to set personal comforts aside to better serve others. With God's guidance, I made the very difficult decision to leave the comfort of my sales and marketing position in an effort to fully commit myself to this cause. Worthwhile Wear launched in India in 2012 and then launched a variety of programs in the US in 2014. Today Worthwhile Wear has grown to offer the most comprehensive services to survivors of trafficking in the state of PA. I haven't once regretted the decision our family made to step away from a career job in order to better serve these brave survivors. Knowing that my days are spent helping women experience freedom and realize their true worth, has made each day a rewarding one. I have the support and help of my wife and two children, and we’ve committed ourselves to provide for and support these women. At my core I believe every person on this planet is of equal value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It is our desire that through our actions, each woman in our programs would know that they truly are worthwhile.

Yoga With Debs

yoga with debs

I have been practising yoga since 2001 and Qigong since 2017. My practice includes pranayama, yoga nidra, seasonal flow, vinyasa flow, yin and qigong. All practices have influenced my physical, emotional and mental wellbeing and have been life changing. I am passionate about creating opportunities for others to experience the benefits yoga and qigong can bring. My journey has been strongly influenced by the instruction and support I have received from the teachers who have inspired me and whose encouragement ultimately led me to train as a teacher. My teaching journey started with teaching children yoga; having always enjoyed working with children and holding a firm belief in making things better and easier for them, it seemed natural to combine two of my passions – yoga and children. If only I had known then how simple breathing activities could help calm my mind and balancing as a tree could help focus my mind…..perhaps exams wouldn’t have been so stressful and bullying not been so distressing. I now teach all age groups from babies to teens and adults, including children with additional needs. My classes are influenced by the styles of yoga I have practised over the years and the teachers who have inspired me. I teach from the heart and with a sense of humour. I believe yoga is creative, fun and educational, suitable for all ages and capabilities. Yoga gives us the understanding and practical applications to be the best people we can be and to live by our values; it is an honour to have this practice in my life. I am a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher, completing my 200 hours with Seasonal Yoga Academy in Glasgow. I trained with Birthlight to teach babies and toddlers, and holds certifications in children’s yoga with Breathe and Be You, and yoga for additional needs, completed with Special Yoga. A huge thank you to all my incredible teachers who have inspired me, encouraged me and taught me. The Literacy Lighthouse

London

Lighthouse Literacy Academy was created to meet the growing needs of San Diego’s East County families who are searching for a wonderful alternative to public school. We are a group of parents and educators with children between grades Transitional Kindergarten and 9th grade. We ourselves grew up in East County attending different elementary, Jr high and High schools around the community. We come with various backgrounds from college degrees to countless ECE classes. Some of us have a background in preschool education, some in homeschooling and some in primary education. Lighthouse Literacy Academy is a Christian school where children will experience God’s love in our morning Bible time and weekly chapel as well as throughout the week as we learn to love God and each other just as God commands us. We believe learning success is rooted in strong literacy. We believe that literacy is the foundation for all learning success, from the primary years, all through college and all of life. We believe a solid ability to read well gives tremendously to whether or not an individual will thrive throughout their lives. We believe that when a Pre-K student reads sight words or a Kindergartener reads 3-7 word sentences, when a first or second grader is reading full books they are paving their way to a bright future. At Lighthouse Literacy Academy each and every child will be a successful reader whether at grade level or beyond. When at Lighthouse Literacy Academy, a child has reached her or his grade level expectations we don't sit back and celebrate, we celebrate and begin the journey of even further progress, motivating, facilitating and supporting each and every child right where they are individually. Our small class sizes allow for one on one learning, community and collaboration. Math, Science, Social Science, Arts, Physical education are not secondary to literacy, but instead intertwined as we strongly believe anyone who can read-well-can learn anything! Lighthouse Literacy Academy is an extension of JUMP Preschool and Kindergarten. JUMP Preschool was established in 2008 for children ages 2 years to Transitional Kindergarten then in 2012 the kindergarten was added. Lighthouse Literacy Academy will have its first semester in January 2022 serving grades Transitional Kindergarten to third Grade.

Welcome to Gad's Hill School, a stellar independent day school based in Rochester, Kent. From nursery right through to Senior School, we offer the best choices for our students.Gad’s Hill School is set in the expansive and beautiful grounds of the former family home of Charles Dickens, in the village of Higham, just on the outskirts of Rochester, Kent. Our independent day school is a wonderfully happy and vibrant school, educating girls and boys aged 3-16 years in the Lower and Upper Schools. The site boasts modern facilities, courtesy of its main building, including theatre, refectory and sports hall, opened in 2013, while also retaining the famous literary heritage of the 18th Century Grade I Listed Gad’s Hill Place, and many of the traditions established since its foundation as a school in 1924. Higham is an area that is rich in culture and history and enjoys a spectacular setting between the North Downs, the Medway Towns and the River Thames. Cathedrals, castles, beaches and historic cities and towns such as Rochester with its Norman legacy and Chatham with its ancient Royal Dockyard are on our doorstep, and we make the most of our surroundings to enrich the educational experience of all our pupils. Childhood is celebrated every day at Gad’s Hill School and high academic expectations, together with outstanding pastoral care and exceptional drama, music and sports facilities and provision, make the school a wonderful place to be educated. Academically, Gad’s Hill enjoys the reputation of receiving excellent GCSE results year-on-year, and yet pupils also enjoy our on-site Forest School, Combined Cadet Force, productions, concerts and much more. We believe our success is largely down to the fact that we are a small school. Pupils are taught in classes of no more than 20 and benefit from a friendly and purposeful learning environment, where teachers know and cater for each child as an individual across an exciting and engaging curriculum. We are different from other schools and are rightly proud of this. We stand for traditional values, self-respect, self-discipline and have a strong sense of friendship, family and community spirit. Creative Engineering For Kids

About Our Founder & Our Values How Engineering For Kids Is Changing the World When looking to register her six and eight-year-old children for engineering programs, Dori Roberts noticed that there were very few options available. Soon, Engineering For Kids was born. Roberts opened her first location in 2009 and, in 2011, she started franchising her company. Over this short time, Engineering For Kids has opened more than 150 locations in over 35 different countries! Interested in being your own boss and providing kids with the opportunity to learn in a fun way? Call (540) 277-4331 to inquire about our franchise opportunities! Before It All Began With 11 years of experience teaching engineering at a high school level, Dori Roberts has an extensive background in technology and math education. As a teacher and a mother, she was able to recognize how much engineering, science, and math programs were needed. During this time, she began an after-school club that took part in multiple science-based and engineering-based competitions. The program attained 180 students and won numerous state championships, giving Roberts the idea to create similar programs adapted for a broader age demographic. She brought the first Engineering For Kids programs to a local elementary school, where they were a hit. She received such a positive response that she decided to leave teaching to devote all of her time developing Engineering For Kids. The Program’s Success Today Since its inception, this program has changed the lives of more than 350,000 students. Our franchisees share Roberts’ passion for Engineering For Kids and we all understand the need for science, technology, engineering, and math enrichment that’s engaging and fun. At Engineering For Kids, the ultimate goal has always been to help kids have fun in an educational way. By customizing activities that tack onto what they’re already learning in their school curriculum, their knowledge of the subject matter solidifies, all while they build a variety of important social skills. Our program is the best way for children to befriend others that share similar passions. Call (540) 277-4331 to learn more about us and our values!
