Project 4 Youth Empowerment (P4YE) is a Community Interest Company born by four friends who became tired of constantly speaking about issues impacting young people negatively, so they decided to do something about it. Concerned about the number of young people involved in, or on the verge of criminality, unemployed, or not in education or training, our team decided to try to change the narrative by dedicating tailored programmes for young people. We assist young people and families by offering a range of support such as group and 1:1 mentoring, online workshops, case study workshops, a weekly youth club, advocacy, and signposting to other professional services. Prevention, intervention, and diversional work is at the forefront of what we do and what we aim for with our young people. We have been trained in Conflict Resolution and mediation and work to resolve instances that can often lead to situations of serious youth violence by using our bespoke methods. Our team has many years of experience of working with young people in a variety of settings such as youth work, teaching, specialised gang work, outreach work and working with young people with special educational needs (SEN). We also have experience in leadership, project management and media and we use our skill sets when developing projects and programmes.

Welcome to Mini Swim Stars! My name is Clare and I am the owner of this independent swim school. My passion for teaching children to swim started 5 years ago when I started assisting during children's swimming lessons. It didn't take long before I decided to do my teacher training and become a qualified swimming teacher. I worked for a Swim School for a few years and then took some time out when I had my second child, during my break I realised how much I missed swimming and this is when I decided I wanted to start my own swim school specialising in babies....this is the moment Mini Swim Stars Was Born. Since then I have had the pleasure of meeting Emma who had the same passion for teaching swimming and wanted to learn more about becoming a teacher. We have had great fun teaching classes together and I am pleased to say she has since become a qualified teacher and valued member of the Mini Swim Stars family. I am a qualified swimming teacher with the STA and I have gone on to do additional training to specialise in Baby - Preschool swimming lessons. We are passionate about introducing this life saving skill from a young age in a fun and engaging environment for everyone to enjoy.

Helen, the Head of Rowan, has worked in education for over twenty years, most of which has been in or associated with, inclusion and behaviour management. Having initially worked as an Education Welfare Officer, successfully raising school attendance in two of the most deprived areas of Scunthorpe, she then worked at High Ridge Secondary School, where she set up and ran the successful Nurture Group. High Ridge became The St Lawrence Academy, where Helen acted as the Lead Behaviour Professional for several years, developing, delivering and training (staff and students) anger management workshops and leading in Restorative Justice Practices, as well as running Summer School for KS2-to-KS3 transition. She then became Deputy Head of a local Alternative Provision, where her hard work, dedication and hands-on management style resulted in both improved behaviour and attendance, as well as a dramatic reduction in exclusions over a period of more than four years. She is a qualified counsellor and was Designated Safeguarding Lead in her capacity as Deputy Head. Helen brings this wealth of experience and skill which, coupled with the expertise and experience of the rest of the staff, will make Rowan Education a unique and successful school. We are a group of teachers, musicians and technologists who specialise in composition, improvisation and performance using iPads. Ben Sellers and Travis Snyder began running music workshops with iPads in a Hackney community centre in 2011, developing an approach that combined outstanding musical outcomes with implicit development of musicianship and theory. They transferred this approach to both formal mainstream and SEND/ALN contexts, codifying their methods into what became the 2014 textbook ‘Teaching Music with Garageband for iPad’, and a popular teacher training scheme. In 2016, Travis returned to California to become the head of Assistive Technology for the San Francisco District School Board. 2017 saw the publication of several new resources, including a second edition of the Garageband textbook and an increased focus on training partnerships with Music Education Hubs. Since 2018 we have gained an increasingly strong reputation as SEND/ALN specialists, working with MEHs up and down the country to improve provision through co-delivery and bespoke training and resources, including a complete ‘SEN/D Curriculum’ with Leicester-Shire Music Service, and a set of projects for the Charanga education platform. We were nominated twice in the 2019 ‘Music Teacher Awards for Excellence’. Though our reputation has grown, we remain a small and focussed team, working hard to develop in young people the skill, desire and drive to use music to enhance their lives.

Welcome to the Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association website. Here you can find information about our club and also about the style of Hung Gar Kung Fu we teach. The word kung fu does not actually mean 'martial art', but instead 'skill that is developed through much time and effort', and our style of Hung Gar Kung Fu will require you, as a student, to undertake a certain amount of mental and physical discipline. To develop this you must have a willingness to learn, to discipline yourself, and most importantly be willing to train hard. school gateEach lesson lasts 2 hours and are developed to increase your fitness, health and vitality. You will be taught techniques and forms (set patterns of techniques) as well as developing strength, speed and balance. The Chinese Lion Dance is a large part of our club and you can also, as your training progresses, involve yourself in this aspect of training. Chinese New Year serves as an important time of year for the school. It's a very busy time in which we undertake a huge diversity of shows around the local area performing the lion dance, dragon dance and martial arts displays.
