Lee Furniture offer a beginners course in cabinetmaking. The tuition is one on one. This course is for the beginner interested in making furniture. The course is hands on and will be based around using tools and machinery to plane wood, use of hand tools to include the correct use of: Marking out tools Planes Chisels Scrapers Power tools During the day we will talk about wood selection, Planing, joints etc.. You will also have a chance to use a Tablesaw, bandsaw, router table etc.. You will also have the chance to cut some dovetail joints by hand!! Throughout there is plenty of time for questions. PLEASE NOTE: You don't make a box on this course, if you wish to leave with a finished product at the end of the day, please book our box making course in or other courses available.. What's included in the price? Wood is included in the course for practicing your new skills.. Tea and coffee included for the day. Onsite Cafe or local shops available for lunch. One day silver clay workshop in Market Bosworth you will make 3 to 5 solid silver jewellery pieces taught by a fully qualified metal clay artist. Come and have fun learning the magic of Silver Metal Clay. Silver clay is a recycled product which when fired becomes solid silver and is Hallmark quality. The best thing is it requires few tools so makes a great new hobby. A workshop for beginners or experienced jewellers, you will learn how to: Roll and pattern clay Cut shapes and create moulds Sand , drill and prepare your piece for firing Fire and polish add patinas and add findings so your solid silver jewellery is ready to wear.

This year, we will be hosting our summer school Monday 31st July-Friday 4th August, 9am-4pm at our studio: GDA, Unit 16 Paper Mill End, B44 8NH. Each day, children will participate in a range of performing arts, including dancing, singing, drama and arts and crafts all around the theme of Roald Dahl's Matilda. We hope to put on a mini performance on the Friday afternoon which parents are invited to watch. This is open to ALL CHILDREN aged 6-13 years. The cost to members is £25 per day or £90 for all 5 days. Children should wear their own comfortable clothing and can either bring a packed lunch or pre-order a hot dinner for £2. Hot food must be requested at least 7 days prior to the summer school starting and will vary each day but be items such as pizza and chips / burger and chips / jacket potatoes etc. Places will be limited but, going by previous years, extremely popular. To secure a place, please contact us clearly stating which date/s you would like. Individual days must be paid in full at time of booking. If you would like to do all 5 days, we request 50% at time of booking with the balance due 14th July.
