Edward is committed to supporting people move towards wholeness and the role education can play in this process. Edward researches mindfulness, integral and transpersonal psychology and well-being as both a member and convenor of postgraduate research at the Centre for Research in Human Flourishing (University of Nottingham). An avid reader, he is particularly inspired by the writings of Adyashanti, Stanislav Grof, Bernardo Kastrup, Gabor Maté, Rupert Spira, Alan Watts and Ken Wilber. Edward has written numerous articles, book chapters and books on these topics himself. Edward has been rigorously trained, he received a First Class (Hons) Degree in Education and Art from the University of Exeter in 1998 and a PhD in Peace Education and Sociocultural Theory from the University of Birmingham in 2003. Edward is a qualified mindfulness teacher, trained by Patrizia Collard/Enter Mindfulness, a Life Coach and a SoulCollage® Facilitator. He has taken the core modules of the Grof Transpersonal Trainer (GTT) Programme, covering the paradigm of Holotropic Breathwork, The Power Within (Bodywork), Music & Transcendence and Spiritual Emergency. He has also taken elective modules in Jung, Alchemy & The Transformation of Consciousness, and Inner Ethics/Soul Collage. This training has been supplemented by further training from the TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) College and the College of Sound Healing . As part of ongoing quality assurance, Edward receives regular supervision in mindfulness, TRE® and Holotropic Breathwork®, actively researching all of these fields, attending regular conferences, courses and retreats to ensure his work and guidance is informed by deep inner experience and the latest research and good practice. Edward is also a member of the Association for Spiritual Integrity and follows their honour code of ethics and good practice for individuals. Edward has attended a Quaker meeting all of his adult life, adopting a contemplative and universal approach to spirituality. He has served as both a Clerk and Elder to his local. 'Clerkship' involves engaging contemplative approaches and discernment to make spiritually-informed group decisions. Edward continues to practise art, focusing on contemporary altars, shrines and portraiture drawing upon studies at the University of Exeter and the Slade School of Art, London. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, winning the prestigious Attenborough Prize in 2011. Edward accepts commissions and much of his work is available for sale. Artwork can be an excellent tool for integration and creativity is employed to help with this process in many of Edward’s courses and workshops.

It is a myth that we must be flexible to do Yoga. We do not arrive to Yoga with perfect bodies. Through breath and mindful movement we move our bodies and our minds toward wholeness and healing, and we learn to  accept ourselves as we are each day.  WHAT IS VINYASA FLOW YOGA? Vinyasa Flow yoga classes are both a physical challenge and a moving meditation. We start with yogic breathwork (pranayama) and warm up our bodies with gentle movements.  We then move into a more rigorous flow where we connect our breath with our movement through various yoga postures.  Modifications are offered for different abilities and those with conditions and injuries.  We then wind down with relaxing postures and deep rest.  In these classes you can expect to build physical strength, balance and stamina.  You will also develop a mindfulness practice and better body awareness.   This is a strength-based style of yoga so expect to sweat. At the end of class, you will leave feeling challenged and energised, yet also calm and centred.  With regular attendance you can expect to feel stronger and more flexible, to have better balance and to learn mindfulness tools to manage stress.  -- Please note: a reasonable level of fitness is required for these classes. You should be able to walk briskly for a mile and go up and down stairs without difficulty. Flexibility is NOT a requirement, rather it is one of the benefits gained by practicing yoga. 😊 After my first yoga class, I was hooked. I felt so calm. My body felt so open, and so tall. For more than 20 years now I have attended yoga classes for fitness, fun and to find a place of peace and respite. It’s helped me through bouts of back, neck, and wrist pain when I worked in IT. Yoga kept me fit during pregnancy and gives me a calming place to go when I need a break from the constancy of motherhood.

I believe that when we take time to slow down and listen to our bodies we can begin to hear what’s truly needed to feel grounded, balanced and whole.  This is why I’ve dedicated the past 20 years to studying and practicing Breathwork, Life Purpose Coaching, EFT (Tapping),  Kinesiology, Integrated nutrition and movement, asking the body to guide me and my clients back to wellness.  My purpose is to support people to heal, transform the pain of the past, to feel deeply by listening and connecting to their bodies and their inner wisdom so that they can create a future full of joy, purpose and love whilst embracing the full spectrum of the human experience. And I understand my clients concerns & frustrations because I’ve been out of balance too. Over the years I’ve navigated PTSD, postnatal depression, candida, digestive issues, total disconnect from my body and felt that life was not flowing smoothly. Armed with the knowledge and wisdom of my professional practise I’ve been able to create protocols and commit to daily rituals, bringing myself back into alignment.  My work is to support people to reconnect to themselves, heal, transform the past and to create a future full of joy, purpose and love whilst embracing the full spectrum of the human experience.  Embodiment encourages you to reconnect with your wholeness guiding you to make better decisions about your health, wellbeing and all aspects of your life. My name is Elaine and I love yoga! I've been enjoying yoga myself for about 45 years and teaching for 15 years. My Bicester yoga classes are gentle and mindful. No rushing from posture to posture. We take time to be. My aim when teaching is for you to be comfortable, relaxed and happy. For you to feel calm and confident, free from physical tension and mental stress. Most of the ladies in my classes are in their 50's, 60's and 70's and appreciate the more gentle approach I take in teaching. Classes start with a short period of breath awareness, followed by some gentle warm up movements. Then we enjoy some postures (asanas) often in the form of sequences so you can lose yourself in the soft flow of the movements. We finish with some breathwork (pranayama) and a lovely relaxation leaving you feeling calm and peaceful. I like to drip in little glimpses of the philosophy behind yoga and will sometimes share a short reading or poem to enhance the mood of the class. In addition, I integrate aspects of mindfulness into my teaching. Whilst none of us can remove the stresses from our lives, we can develop coping mechanisms to avoid tension building physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga can help you release tight muscles and improve your sense of balance physically and mentally. You learn to unravel the knots of physical, mental and emotional tension and gain a greater sense of wellbeing. Let your yoga class be an oasis of calm in a busy life... like pressing a pause button .. time to unwind and refresh. Sending you a very warm welcome from Brighton. If we've met you'll know me as Yas or Yasmin and if not I hope our paths connect one day soon! In my late teens I developed a keen interest in natural health & wellness, as a result of losing my wonderful mother to cancer. This would eventually lead me to Thailand and India where I would learn about Ayurveda, Shamanic Medicines, Detoxing & Cleansing and the value of natural living. I would come to learn the importance of health from the inside out and the integral balance of mind, body & spirit. A few years later I started to delve into the world of yoga and soon began to rely on my practice, as it brought me a sense of peace that I had not yet experienced. This led me to complete my Teacher Training along with many other courses and workshops, helping me to deepen my knowledge and understanding of this beautiful practice. My travels also afforded me the privilege of learning meditation with Buddhist monks. I have always been inspired by those who live yoga as a way of life and I am unbelievably passionate about sharing this practice with others.
