Born in Latvia, Mona relocated to Sweden with her family at the age of 5, and
again to the US, at the age of 13. The instability of her childhood sparked what
Joseph Campbell calls the “Hero’s Journey.” In 2013, Mona resigned from her
position as director of The Yoga Mat studios in California, and with 1 rucksack,
set out on an 2 year discovery through South East Asia and Oceania — in search
of a True home. She attributes her courage to follow her heart’s calling to the
practice.
