My earliest memories of doing yoga are with my mother as a child. I was brought up with an awareness of wellbeing, physical fitness and nutrition and I had a very sporty childhood. After a career in modelling and working in events where the pressure to be thin was high, I refused to diet and instead used physical exercise and nutrition to keep myself in shape for work. My interest in exercise and healthy eating led me to pursue a career as a Personal Trainer which I did for a good few years. I loved this work but didn’t feel it always gave me the opportunity to work with a person holistically. Clients often neglected their mental health and did not make stretching a priority which I believed to be so important for overall body health so I embarked upon some yoga qualifications and my journey as a yoga teacher began. I knew this to be my future work so after a short break to have my children, I took a 200 hour teacher training in Vinyasa Flow with the well renowned Claire Missingham. I have been teaching ever since. I took on our beautiful studio in November 2018 and I feel very lucky to call it my place of work and do what I do each day. Life is busy and sometimes stressful and demanding. It can be easy to neglect our wellbeing. Practices like yoga, breathwork and meditation help guide us towards strategies to help manage our lives and take better care of ourselves. I believe that yoga is for everyone and that you should be able to practice in a way that compliments your body and your needs. Some like to practice slow and some like to be more dynamic, some need a practice that is kind to an injury or an ailment/illness. Some are beginners and some have been practicing for years. At Ener-G Yoga studio we really try to offer a large range of classes that help people to find the type of yoga that works for them. From Breathwork and Meditation classes to Vinyasa Flow and Aerial Yoga classes, you should be able to find a class that inspires you. We look forward to welcoming you.

Anvesaka Yoga & Aerial aims to turn the boring gym treadmill routine in it’s head, by making exercise sociable, full of laughter and above all, enjoyable. Established in 2015, Anvesaka Yoga & Aerial is a leading provider of Aerial Yoga classes in the North East of England. Amy discovered yoga after a very premature birth and prolonged hospital stay of her eldest child, her yoga practice provided the necessary space and tranquillity to get through the anxious early years. Following the birth of her second child and subsequent redundancy, Amy decided to retrain as a yoga teacher, to try to bring the joy and peace that yoga has brought her to as many people as possible. Our foray into aerial began in 2015, when Amy tried her first aerial yoga class, and immediately went home to find out the requirements for teacher training! A few hours later her course was booked. From here Anvesaka Yoga & Aerial was born. Anvesaka Yoga & Aerial developed from this modest foundation of one person on Teesside to a network of more than 20 teachers covering the North East of England by early 2020. Our range of classes have grown as well, adding in more variety of aerial equipment styles over the years to offer a full range of classes to everyone looking to elevate their fitness practice, as well as yoga for schools, corporate settings and festivals. Whether in a busy class or in a private lesson, Kerrie's aim is to enable everyone to feel the practice is just perfect for them in that moment.......leaving students feeling amazing! MEET KERRIE Hello! I believe in living a life full of joy, laughter, gratitude, and free of judgement. These feelings guide my teaching and practice, which is focused on nurturing students to help them better connect to themselves and to bring about a sense of balance and peace. I have been practicing meditation since a young girl taught by my mother and later as an adult practicing yoga asana too, with many brilliant teachers. My initial Hatha Yoga teacher training (200 hours) was with Daizan Roshi, a Zen Master and monk in the rigorous Rinzai tradition of Zen. He studied with the forefather of Ashtanga Yoga, Sri Pattabhi Jois in India. This Zen focus means mindfulness is at the heart of my practice, developing focus, awareness and suppleness on all levels. Training was immersive; away from modern life and the outside world. Starting each day at sunrise and finishing after dark, it was intense, inspirational and totally life changing. Training covered alignment, asana, meditation, breath-work, anatomy, philosophy and Zen. My passion for sharing yoga has led to further training in pregnancy and baby yoga (85 hours), restorative Yoga Nidra (40 hours) and Yin Yoga (130 hours; trained with the amazing Bernie Clark!). Most recently I have become certified to work in the areas of therapeutic yoga for cancer care, aligned to the British Society of Integrative Oncology and have also taken part in 'strong throughout menopause' education. Additionally, I have completed advanced training, over a number of years this included the art of sequencing, of adjustments and the subtle body including; Chakras, Bandhas and Prana (500 hours). I also have over 3000 hours teaching experience and am registered with the professional governing body, Yoga Alliance, as a senior designated experienced teacher. I have also had the privilege of staying at Plum Village in France to practice and study Zen and Mindfulness under the teachings of world renowned Zen Master and global peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh. An absolutely incredible experience and such beautiful teachings, that I continue to share with anyone that will listen! My other life passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have spent time exploring India, Japan, Thailand, Borneo, Indonesia, Hawaii, Malaysia, Mexico, Canada, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Europe and many other beautiful places. I bring together and share my experiences of yoga from those places too.

I am a mindfulness and yoga teacher with over 15 years’ experience working in facilitation, personal development, training design and delivery, coaching and wellbeing. I teach yoga, mindfulness and stress management techniques to help people thrive, especially when life is complex and demanding. My passion is helping people live happy and fulfilling lives, do what they love, and make a difference in the world. We all face challenges in a fast-paced world. I work to create moments of stillness and connection that allow you space to breathe and just be. From this place you are free to think clearly and get your life working in the way you want. Whether working with individuals, groups or corporate clients, compassion is at the heart of what I do. I believe that self-care can be a radical act that transforms our relationship to the world and our place within it, through nurture, rest and deep healing.
