Founded by Cliff Bura in 2008, Diesel Gym was born in an area steeped in a rich combat sports history – London’s East End. Throughout its existence it has prided itself in developing international competitors and champions across all of disciplines its practices – true “school of excellence”. From its Muay Thai practice which grew from the legendary Grandmaster Sken’s Sitnarong camp to Eddie Bravo’s world famous 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system (a no-gi specific grappling system designed specifically for MMA and utilised consistently by many competitors in promotions such as the UFC, Bellator and ONE Championship). Its wrestling practice and system is one Diesel has developed throughout the years to succeed in the MMA arena. All our Martial Arts practices are supported by Excel Strength & Conditioning who are there to build and maintain strong healthy athletes. While Physical Defence Physiotherapy are there as our inhouse physiotherapy support to bring members back to full fitness when needed. Despite Diesel’s long and successful competitive history, the majority of its members train for purely fitness, self defence or personal development reasons. Complete beginners are welcomed and nurtured as importantly as its professional athletes in a true community spirit. In 2019, Diesel Gym became a non-profit organisation, investing profits back in to its own community projects in Newham in areas such as sports for all, mental health wellbeing and youth crime.

Clubb Chimera Martial Arts provides a bespoke service in the form of private lessons, courses, seminars and webinars. I teach self-protection and martial arts. These are regarded as separate topics and taught in this fashion, although longer-term clients are taught how one can hugely benefit the other.  Self-protection lessons are a fully comprehensive yet tailored service including in depth training in soft skills (personal security/non-physical skills) and hard skills (self-defence/physical skills). This usually takes the form of 10 hour (10 x 1 hour lessons or 2 x 5 seminars) and are shaped in accordance to the demands of the client. Subjects range from children's self-protection to edged weapon/knife awareness to work-specific violence management. Training covers the anatomy of self-protection from pre-incident to post-incident, social and asocial violence, different threat levels and an understanding of the law in relation to self-defence.  Martial arts lessons specialise in Boxing, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, Wrestling, Submission Grappling, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and weapons training. These can be learnt as individual disciplines or as a form of attribute training. My emphasis is on martial arts cross-training.  Most of my personal training is provided in Heythrop near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire but I also travel to local client's homes. Training can also be provided online via Skype or Zoom. I also teach seminars and courses both nationally and internationally. My clients range from private individuals to corporations to martial arts clubs (where I provide teacher training and consultancy) to small groups and organisations.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, also known as BJJ, is one of the most popular and fastest-growing martial arts in the world. Wing Chun Kung Fu is a close quarter Chinese fighting system first seen demonstrated in the West by movie star legend Bruce Lee. It was brought from China to Hong Kong in 1949 by Bruce Lee’s teacher, Grandmaster Ip Man (aka Yip man). Wing Chun was created by Shaolin nun, Ng Mui, in the 17th century and named after her first student, Yim Wing Chun. It has been passed on and developed by successive masters to become what it is today, a unique fighting system. It is characterised by using the most direct lines for attack and defence and combines explosive punches, elbows, palms, chops and mid to low section kicks. What is Kamon Wing Chun? Kamon Wing Chun was founded by Master Kevin Chan in 1992. Kamon Wing Chun is built on the solid roots of Ip Man Wing Chun and is firmly rooted in the complete classical Wing Chun system. It believes in the importance of heritage, preservation of the art, the philosophy and the deep rooted culture. However, Kamon’s philosophy incorporates progression and evolution of the art. Who is Kevin Chan? Kevin Chan is the Master of the Kamon Martial Arts Federation and a life member of the Yip Man Martial Arts Association. Kevin is UK born Chinese, he started HaKa style Kuen Mo in 1979 at 11 years old with his uncle in Hong Kong. Since then he has practised; Gung Lik Kune, Tong Long (Mantis), both Boxing and Thai Boxing, Wrestling, BJJ and he has been a Wing Chun practitioner since 1987. Kevin has trained under Steve Mair and Sam Kwok and with Ip Chun and Mark Hyland amongst others in Wing Chun. Kevin is recognised as a leading expert in international Wing Chun today.
