Like you, we're passionate about natural therapies and health. Our story started in a garage in 2004. Our founders, David Vitek and Roby Sharon-Zipser, believed it should and could be easier to connect consumers with local businesses online. Looking up a wide range of services online such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Reflexology, Homeopathy and Naturopathy proved challenging so they went about building a site focused on holistic health, natural remedies, natural therapies and alternative therapies — The Natural Therapy Pages. In the years since, our team of 200+ has focused on weaving emerging technology with good old-fashioned service to innovate the way people get things done, having created sites in industries they were passionate about — natural therapies, home improvements and pets. And now Natural Therapy Pages, part of the hipages Group, is the most visited natural health site across Australia. Every day, our growing team works to connect a community of health-conscious people — 600,000 monthly visitors — with more than 13,000 natural therapy practitioners in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. We also attend many industry events and expos, develop positive partnerships with industry associations, and regularly speak with our practitioners — to ensure the site continues to inspire, inform, and connect clients and therapists. Innovating and connecting the natural therapies industry online: it comes naturally. Our inspiration Every day, we're inspired and invigorated by the natural therapists, schools, and students we speak to. That's why in April 2015, we launched a Natural Therapy Courses website in Australia, with thousands of online and on-campus courses it's often daunting to know where to start. It's the simplest way to start studying natural therapies — and connect with other learners. So this site is designed to help offer advice and insights and if you like we can connect you with some local training providers to help get you into the industry. Connection is at the core of everything we do, with 70,000 people signed up to our weekly e-newsletter we strive to keep your inbox both exciting and knowledgeable. I was introduced to Yoga & Meditation as a teenager in the 1970s, have been teaching since 2014. Recognising the different qualities yoga can bring, I offer a range of physical styles, some very gentle and others more strenuous, along with meditation and relaxation. While I love the sense of strength, openness, and resilience, that a strong physical practice can offer, I’m increasingly astonished by the transformative power of more gentle and subtle approaches to bodywork, allowing a more intimate sensing of the body, the breath, and emotions and bringing an ease into being in the world. I embrace the variety and seek to share this in my classes as I draw on the influences of a range of body-mind practices – some thousands of years old, some contemporary – including Hatha Yoga, Yin-Restorative Yoga, Somatics, Feldenkrais & Yoga Nidra. I love to teach people of all ages and levels of experience in a way that encourages a deep inner listening with a sense of ease, pleasure, and fun. Someone said to me once, Yoga is too sacred to be taken over seriously! A typical class will start with a gentle enquiry into the body and breath, slowly adding movement (influenced by the Feldenkrais method), and gradually build into synchronizing breath and stronger movement (the meaning of Vinyasa), to then work with static posture alignment and/or melting into the meditative, less dynamic postures of Yin. Focus upon the breath is a vital part of all my classes, whether simply tuning in to the simplicity of a natural breath or more subtle breathing control and Pranayama. I sometimes include meditation as part of a regular class and also offer separate Meditation/Yoga Nidra courses. I love language, literature and philosophy and read and write as much as a I can – often weaving ancient Yogic texts and contemporary poetry or prose into the experience of my classes. I am Certified as a Yoga Teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga and as an iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher with the iRest Institute and am currently undergoing training in the Feldenkrais Method.

Through yoga and mindfulness, I help people to slow down, prioritise their wellbeing and feel more peace day to day. I’ll let you into a secret though… the old me was not a calm, happy, chilled out yoga teacher! The old me worked long hours in jobs I didn’t enjoy, feeling constantly stressed and overwhelmed. I said yes to everything and put way too much pressure on myself. Life felt busy, I wasn’t happy and my mental health started to suffer too. It was at this point I realised something had to give. So I left my job at the time, took a step back and dived into all things health and wellbeing. Little did I know, three things would change my whole way of living. First, I found yoga. What started as 30 days of Yoga with Adriene on YouTube (highly recommend!) turned into a regular practice, and I realised how amazing it felt to properly slow down and take care of my mind and body in this way. Yoga has made me stronger, happier and more myself. It’s given me a way to find peace amidst the busyness of life. As I learnt more about yoga, I started practicing meditation regularly, and found that it gave me an even deeper sense of calm and mental clarity. Meditation has taught me how to become present and cultivate a calmer, clearer mindset, and it’s become a daily practice that I now couldn’t do without. I love to share this with others by starting every yoga class with some meditation. And last but not least, I discovered mindfulness. This is perhaps the most valuable practice I’ve ever learnt, and weaving it into my daily life has had such an impact on how I feel and experience the world around me. Mindfulness has helped me to appreciate my life more fully and find a balance between doing and being. This is something I want everyone to experience, so I now use my classes, workshops and other offerings to spread mindfulness more widely. Movement. Meditation. Mindfulness. These practices have become the three M’s I live by. They’ve improved my life more than I can say and now everything I do is about sharing them with others.
