Are you are looking for something a little different from the usual portraits, or pet portraits?
You’ve come to the right place!
You can commission a slightly quirky portrait painted in oils and acrylics as well as sketches that will capture the special qualities of the sitter or of your pet.
The Wyllie Fox can magically transform your photographs and find a suitable painting method, in the style of old masters such as Rembrandt, Goya, Impressionist Artists, Manet, Van Gogh ….
Using traditional techniques in oils or acrylic paint the Wyllie Fox will portray the personality of your human pet. You will have an original pet portrait of your best friend to take pride of place in your home.
If you would prefer a person or pet portrait sketch, do view the examples above. These sketches are hand drawn using an IPad and pencil with Digital Drawing software. They will be printed using Bockingford paper and will include a cream coloured mount. You can order a sketch of your pet from as little as £75.
Do you need the painting to fit in with your interior style or colour scheme? Just let us know and send in a photo of the intended wall space when you receive the commissioning form.
Gift certificates can also be purchased and can be requested by filling in the form below. These make great presents for commissioning a portrait of a family member, a portrait of your partner, your children, grandchildren friends or even colleagues for a special occasion.

Commissioning a Pet or Human Portrait in Oils or Acrylics FAQ’s
What do you need from me?
Initially, just fill in the form below to discuss your requirements. You will then receive a commissioning request form by email.
You can then send your Human / Pet’s Photographs and tell us more about your about their personality, history and anything you feel is relevant to the painting, such as size, paint medium or painting surface.
Commissioning a portrait is a two way process. It would be helpful if you can describe some of the things he or she likes to do, wear or favourite objects or environment. One or two photographs will be required. The backgrounds aren’t as important as seeing the person or pet clearly and in detail. A photo looking straight at the camera will usually work best. Your photographs and the description you give will inspire the Wyllie Fox. She will then get to work on how best to portray their.
Will I be kept updated with the progress?
Yes. You will receive an initial rough sketch sent by email which will also show the setting and background. You may also be shown reference photographs to illustrate the style of painting. If you’re happy to proceed you will be asked to confirm this before the portrait painting is started.
You will receive regular updates on the painting’s progression and you will have opportunities to provide feedback.
Portrait Estimates:
Oil or Acrylic on Canvas:
An A3 sized painting on canvas with one person / pet – £495
An A2 sized painting on a custom made panel or on canvas – £645
Portrait Sketches
A mounted A4 sized print of a digital drawing – starting from £75.
Should you require a framed print, you can request a quote for this when you send back a commissioning form.
Other sizes are available and can be requested.
These estimates are for one pet or one person. Actual quotes will be given for your commission depending on the complexity and size.
Payment schedule
For oil or acrylic paintings an initial payment of £30 will be required to cover the initial rough sketch for the final painting and also for research time. This initial payment will be refunded from the final fee should you agree to go ahead with the commission. The fee will be discussed with you (see estimates above), and will be based on the complexity and size of the artwork.
On agreeing the rough sketch, proposal and fees, a 50% deposit of the total amount (including delivery charges) is required before the portrait is started.
On completion, the remaining balance will be due. Your painting will be delivered when the final payment is received.
Will I own the Copyright of the portrait?
No. The Artist Francesca Wyllie (also known as The Wyllie Fox) reserves all rights. You should not reproduce the original painting as this will breach the Artists’ copyright. If you wish to purchase the copyright this must me discussed and will incur an additional fee.
Mainland Postage to UK:
Oil or acrylic Paintings – £15 signed for (insured) courier.
Mounted Sketches – £8.99 signed first class post.
Posting quotes will be given for areas outside of Mainland UK
How long will my portrait take?
Your painting will normally take between 1 – 3 weeks to complete. However, the deadline will be agreed with you before the commission is started.
Please also bear in mind that an original portrait which has been painted in oils can take a while to dry so should be handled carefully and will normally be sent one week after completion.
If you would prefer a painting in acrylics please specify this as this can be posted almost immediately.

Bespoke painting and sculpture workshops can be arranged or Francesca can travel locally to guide you in your own studios or locations.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">There are some fabulous painting and sketching locations for plein-air painting around the old Cortijo which is situated 750 metres high in the olive groves. With mountain views and a variety of plants and trees, which include oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs and grapes. The eco-swimming pool is also a great place to sketch and paint with water lilies, iris, marginal plants and a small waterfall.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Locations locally include the Watermill walk at Algarinejo, the lake at Iznajar, any of the local towns and of course further afield in Granada, Cordoba and Malaga.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Francesca Wyllie is a very experienced tutor and has led many workshops with groups and one-to-one classes. No previous experience is necessary and tuition can cater for all levels. box-sizing: border-box;">Digital Painting</strong>&nbsp;&ndash; You may need to pre-install the Artrage app on an IPad or tablet prior to the workshop. Francesca can guide you with this. The Artrage app is normally available for under &euro;5 for IPad. Workshops are charged at &euro;30 per hour<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong fr-original-style="" style="font-weight: 700; box-sizing: border-box;">Life Drawing</strong>&nbsp;for groups with a minimum of 6 people. This can all be arranged but may involve extra fees to cover travel time and fuel costs. She is also available for artists&rsquo; talks.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;"><strong fr-original-style="" style="font-weight: 700; box-sizing: border-box;">Accessibility</strong>&nbsp;&ndash; The studio does have a wheelchair-accessible ramp though some rooms do have steps up to them. You can cancel your tuition booking 2 weeks before your course and can contact Francesca to discuss an alternative date. Should this not be possible or a suitable date not be available you will receive a full refund. There are some fabulous painting and sketching locations for plein-air painting around the old Cortijo which is situated 750 metres high in the olive groves. With mountain views and a variety of plants and trees, which include oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs and grapes. The eco-swimming pool is also a great place to sketch and paint with water lilies, iris, marginal plants and a small waterfall.
Locations locally include the Watermill walk at Algarinejo, the lake at Iznajar, any of the local towns and of course further afield in Granada, Cordoba and Malaga.
Francesca Wyllie is a very experienced tutor and has led many workshops with groups and one-to-one classes. No previous experience is necessary and tuition can cater for all levels. Just come with a positive outlook!
Unlocking creative potential is her speciality and some workshops will be a special blend of loosening up artistic techniques, mindfulness and yoga to bring a holistic approach to the workshops. This will break down any barriers, fears, or self-doubt you may have, to release your creative potential and bring back a playful love for creating art.

Art Tuition Fees:
Painting tuition starts at €30 per hour per person and includes some materials and refreshments.
Courses are a minimum of 1 1/2 hours and are normally held on weekends.
There will be a discount applied for group bookings fees of over 2 people of 20% and of 50% for over 4 people.
Sketching – you will receive a free sketchbook, pencils and refreshments – cost €30 per hour.
Watercolours, Oils and Acrylics painting including Plein Air painting in the near vicinity will be €30 per hour for watercolours and €35 per hour for Oils and Acrylics and will include one board or watercolour sheet, plus use of materials and brushes.
You are also welcome to bring your own materials too.
Digital Painting – You may need to pre-install the Artrage app on an IPad or tablet prior to the workshop. Francesca can guide you with this. The Artrage app is normally available for under €5 for IPad. Workshops are charged at €30 per hour
Life Drawing for groups with a minimum of 6 people. Price on application.
All workshops will usually include helpful pdf guides for tips on materials and techniques.
Other venues:
Do you require a workshop to be held in a specific location or in your own home? This can all be arranged but may involve extra fees to cover travel time and fuel costs. This will all be agreed with you in advance.
Francesca loves to paint on location and has held many painting and Ipad painting workshops. She is also available for artists’ talks.
Accessibility – The studio does have a wheelchair-accessible ramp though some rooms do have steps up to them. Please discuss your needs prior to your visit using the Contact form and we will try to accommodate you.
Should you wish Francesca to travel to you this can be a good solution. We will look for the most suitable venue for you and do not wish to place any barriers to you unleashing your creative potential.
Cancellation Policy
Sometimes stuff happens and life gets in the way. You can cancel your tuition booking 2 weeks before your course and can contact Francesca to discuss an alternative date. Should this not be possible or a suitable date not be available you will receive a full refund. Bookings cancelled with under a week’s notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the full booking.
In the event of the course being cancelled* due to bad weather or should the Artist find herself ill in bed, (this rarely happens as she is quite hardy), you will be refunded in full or an agreed alternative date will be given.
*During the Covid outbreak, payments should only be made two weeks prior to the course date to avoid potential problems with lockdowns or new social distancing rules. Please can you discuss any arrangements with the Artist for the wearing of face masks or any other special requirements, medical / allergy matters.

Francesca Wyllie (BA Hons Fine Art) has an amazing north-facing art studio at El Retiro in Andalucia, which was purpose-built to accommodate painting groups. Bespoke painting and sculpture workshops can be arranged or Francesca can travel locally to guide you in your own studios or locations.
