At Merlin Dog Training we understand the importance of your dog to you and your family, and therefore only use positive training techniques, such as reward based and positive reinforcement. After numerous courses and over 30 years of combined experience, we know that dogs are different from wolves and consequently should be trained and treated as such. We believe that every dog has the potential to succeed in whatever field you wish to explore, with the right training and attitude. We are welcoming to all people interested in training their dogs, regardless of age, gender, ability etc. however the dogs age and ability/health is important so make sure you inquire about this when you contact us. We hold weekly classes for Agility and Obedience/Trick Training! We can offer personalised 1-2-1 sessions in those areas (as well as behaviour) if that is what you and your dog need. Both our trainers have years of experience in Agility and Obedience, with Carol having a diploma in behaviour, and are fully equipped to help you and your dog. We are a craft organisation and registered charity based in Leigh Park, Hampshire, with impact across the UK. We literally make space for people and organisations involved in craft, through a programme of workshops and experiences that are co-created with community partners and through consultation with local people. Our specially tailored projects inspire, challenge, skill-up, engage and build new audiences for the sector. They have lasting local impact, and are often transformational for participants. Working in collaboration with local charities, essential need services and community groups we are inclusive to all, making space for a thriving, creative community. We offer both first-time experiences of craft and work with those who want to take their skills to the next level. We enable people to develop new ways of thinking about craft and experience first-hand the important presence of craft in everyday life. Raising the profile of craft in all its forms, we work with local and national arts organisations, contributing to debate, supporting makers and providing opportunities. Through our outreach projects, we work with partners including schools, children’s centres, family learning environments and retirement homes.

The Consortium was formed in 2011 to represent the progressive and outward looking role of nursery schools in the 21st century. We are a partnership of three maintained nursery schools in Haringey with a rich and diverse history of excellent integrated early years practice. Our central aim is to progress our role in leading system improvement in the Early Years in Haringey and beyond. Within our local authority we have established a strong reputation for providing high quality accredited and non-accredited training. This has been enhanced by working in partnership with the Haringey Early Years Team, Pen Green, Derby University, Middlesex University and Barnet and Southgate college. The schools are located in areas with some of the highest levels of deprivation within the borough of Haringey and serve a diverse population representing a rich cultural and ethnic mix. Typically 24 different languages are being spoken at each school and 65% of the pupil cohort have EAL. Each nursery school has an on site Children’s Centre and a key aspect of this work is supporting families onto pathways back into employment. The centres have effective on site volunteer training and placements for families within the community. We have been part of projects to enable and enhance children's learning and development across the curriculum and widened our partnership through collaborative creative projects including link work with Italy. Sweden, Finland & Denmark. We are one of 16 consortiums designated as an Early Years Teaching Centre, by the DfE in 2011, and we continue to develop and promote the training of staff in local early years settings. Staff training and development is associated with higher quality early years provision (Study of Early Education and Development (SEED), 2017) Children who experience high quality early years provision are well placed to achieve higher outcomes at school and develop better social, emotional and cognitive abilities necessary for life-long learning. The Haringey Nursery Schools Training Consortium is a collaboration between Rowland Hill, Woodlands Park and Pembury House Nursery School and Children’s Centres. This partnership was formed in 2010 in order to support young children and practitioners in Early Year’s settings locally and further afield. The Nursery Schools have on-site Children’s Centres and offer fully integrated care and education for families. The combined strength of the nursery schools together with children’s centre services and childcare enables them to offer a wide range of services to children and families. The Nursery Schools have been judged by Ofsted to have outstanding practice and in 2011 were awarded ‘Early Years Teaching Centre’ (EYTC) Status. What is our aim? The Nursery Schools have a reputation for exciting, innovative Early Years expertise, practice and research which we have developed in order to improve outcomes for young children and their families. Through a close, strategic partnership with the Local Authority and a range of other partners, we are able to offer a range of high quality training and development opportunities for those in the Early Years Workforce. This includes staff in Primary Schools, Nursery Schools, Private, Voluntary and Independent Early Years Settings and Childminders. Together with the Haringey Early Years Quality and Improvement Team, we also offer an annual Early Years Conference.

cambridge canoe club

We cater for both recreational and competitive paddlers who wish to take part in all forms of canoeing and kayaking in and around Cambridge. The club is based at our clubhouse on Sheeps Green next to the Newnham Recreation Ground in Cambridge. Activities take place all year round and include local and national paddling trips on both flat water and white water. We also have regular pool sessions at the Abbey Swimming Pool where beginners and experienced paddlers alike can practice technique and receive instruction in warm water conditions all year round. In addition we have land-based social events throughout the year. We welcome newcomers to the sport and have qualified instructors who can provide coaching to paddlers of all ages and ability levels. We have a racing squad who compete at local and national level Marathon and Sprint competitions and welcome new experienced paddlers or beginners who wish to get involved in canoe or kayak racing. The club holds regular club sessions at the clubhouse where a member is on duty to give information to visitors. The club has no postal address so all correspondence must be with one of its officers. CLOD ENSEMBLE create provocative, finely crafted performance and participation projects driven by movement and music. For over 25 years, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, in collaboration with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras. Our core team work from our studios in the Design District on Greenwich Peninsula, and we work with a wide range of freelance artists on each project. Each production has a unique visual identity and distinctive musical score. Highlights include Silver Swan, featuring a choir of seven unaccompanied singers; Under Glass, where performers are contained within glass cases, from a jam jar to a test tube; An Anatomie in Four Quarters in which the audience cut a path through the auditorium of a large theatre and Red Ladies, a chorus of identically dressed women who transform, celebrate and interrupt the familiar streets of a city. Our work is presented in London, across the UK and internationally in theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces including Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, The Lowry, Wales Millennium Centre, Serralves Museum Porto and Public Theater New York. Our approach to performance making embraces difference and ambiguity, allowing us to work with complex ideas in complex systems. Each of our projects upholds movement, music and visual languages as vital ways of knowing, learning, and communicating. We offer a wide-reaching programme of education and participation projects in schools, higher education institutions and NHS Trusts. These different areas of our work overlap, creating fertile ground for dialogue, debate and collaboration. We offer a rich programme of Talent Development, developing the next generation of music, dance and interdisciplinary artists. Through learning programmes we inspire young people through music and movement in formal education settings and beyond. Performing Medicine is our award-winning, sector-leading initiative, primarily focused on the education and wellbeing of healthcare workers – developing their skills through creative practice so they can build healthier, respectful, caring, creative communities.

Tom says: “I developed the Anatomy Trains during the 1990’s, as a game for students to play when I was teaching Fascial Anatomy at the Rolf Institute. I was inspired by Ida Rolf, and have been practicing the deep fascial work I learned from her since 1976. “But when I came to try to teach, all the books you can find put forward the ‘single-muscle’ theory. Ida Rolf kept saying, “It’s all connected through the fascia.” Other than invoking the image of a grapefruit or a loofah, how do you make this real? How do you get ‘actionable intelligence’ on the functioning of the whole musculoskeletal system? “Just as an exercise to cement the students’ knowledge, I began stringing the muscles together through the fascia. This idea was initiated when Dr Jim Oschman gave me an article by Raymond Dart (the anthropologist and Alexander Technique student) linking the muscle in the trunk in a double-spiral arrangement (which shows up here as part of the Spiral Line). “My reaction was, “Why stop there?” From this base, I expanded Dart’s idea to the whole body, to help students see connections by stringing muscles together. The ‘rules’ are that the connections have to follow the grain in the fascial fabric in more or less a straight line, without breaks or changing levels.
