My name is Anna Robinson and I am the Executive Headteacher and Chief Executive Officer of MARK Education Trust. Our trust was established in 2012, and for the last 10 years has been a trust of one school, Beacon Academy in Crowborough. From September 2022, we are delighted to have welcomed Uplands Academy into our trust as our second school. I was the Headteacher of Beacon Academy from September 2015 – August 2022 prior to becoming the Executive Headteacher from September 2022, overseeing both of our schools. To support Uplands during their first year as an Academy and member of our trust, for this academic year, I will also be the named Headteacher of Uplands Academy. In addition, my colleague, David Callard, with an excellent and sustained track record of senior leadership at Beacon Academy, will also be joining me as our Senior Deputy Headteacher. In addition to bringing additional leadership capacity and experience of school improvement, we are looking forward to working with the well-known and established Uplands senior team, its staff and most importantly our inspiring and incredibly capable students. As with colleagues at Beacon Academy in Crowborough, those of us at Uplands are ambitious for excellence in all we do. Our vision aligns with our trust and that of Beacon Academy. This vision, which is established and sustained, is to provide the best possible education for all our students and to be an exceptional educational establishment for our communities. We are never complacent. Becoming a student at Uplands Academy I know that choosing a secondary school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your children and family. At Uplands, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning. Uplands Academy Vision At Uplands Academy, we want our children to be happy, successful and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community. Our curriculum for our students is rightly ambitious - it is as broad as it is balanced. It has a strong academic core which, where relevant includes vocational and technical ambitions with choices for students to opt into in key stages four and five. Our curriculum is expertly planned to maximise educational opportunities and prepare our students to be socially and economically successful. As a result of this, we want our students to develop keen interests, a lifelong passion for learning and an impressive, coherent, and cumulative understanding of the world. All of this meaning that they can consistently achieve highly and be prepared for future success and happiness in education, employment or training. We have uncompromisingly high expectations for the quality of education that our students receive, including the most disadvantaged and those with SEND - there is no room for complacency. We support and encourage our school community – we expect everyone to Make their MARK academically by being motivated, articulate, resilient and knowledgeable, both in their lessons and beyond, and socially both inside and out of our school environment by having excellent manners, being accepting, respectful and kind. These expectations are reflected in the excellent relationships that exist between our board of trustees, staff, students, parents, carers and the wider community. We recruit, retain and develop exceptional staff and trustees to ensure that through every aspect of their experience of Uplands, our students are inspired, engaged and challenged, enabling them to make excellent progress and attain well. This includes our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. Our staff care deeply - each day they strive to be positive role models, thus supporting the inclusive culture of our school environment. Our staff want our students to feel safe and happy and listened to academically, socially and in terms of their well-being. We have a culture that is highly aspirational and ambitious for excellence in all we do and where commonalities are identified and celebrated and that differences are respected, accepted, valued and nurtured. As staff we model what we want to see from one another and our students – we promote and expect a positive and motivated commitment to education from our students and their parents and carers. Our standards are unapologetically high – this applies to both our staff and students, thus enabling our teachers to teach and our students to learn and excel, at Uplands Academy and beyond. We encourage you to come and see this and Uplands for yourselves during this exciting new phase for our school.

My curiosity about humans and personality began in childhood. I observed my family with confusion and was often told; 'Don't be so silly!' I later worked in Primary & Secondary Mental Health, Higher Ed & Not-For-Profits where I observed parallels to my Childhood! I was considerably more resourced by then with theoretical perspectives to make sense of my experiences. I have a life-long passion with mixed media art and now, combining this with everything I know, I create art courses for adults to express their life stories and experiences using my therapeutic, raw & gritty approach. I felt compelled to invite Woman to explore and share their stories through my approach in groups then online. I have integrated everything I know as a Therapist, Coach & Artist to Unleash those who want more freedom from conditioning. I have expertise in: Perfectionism, Self Esteem/Confidence, Trauma, Boundaries, Resilience, Intuition, Psychosomatic Experience, Burnout & Sexual Abuse. My extensive library of Therapeutic Courses continues to grow and is now available in one affordable package. I am a Life Book Teacher, contribute to Art for Earth, Art Bundles for Good and Art Medicine Festival. Online Creative eCourses from Kas Martin What You Could Experience through my Approach Please know beginners to expressive art can participate in my work easily. You can learn how to intuitively sense into Symbols, Colour & Texture in ways that words often can’t. You will be shown how to express all your gritty, raw truth whilst easing your foot away from hovering over the brakes of everyday living. You will learn 'experientially' through actively participating in my online courses and hopefully by connecting with me in my free online community. You will develop self acceptance, reduce criticism, doubt, fear and transform life. My Approach reduces stress & anxiety and raises confidence and self esteem. I teach you to trust your innate Intuition & Body Wisdom, to Hear & See yourself with empathy offering deep healing to you, as you create. Your unique individuality will be celebrated by me on your own Journey through Life. Art allows a deep connection with Oneself. It improves our Mental, Physical & Spiritual Health. The way in which we relate with ourselves can make or break us and I model a way of being which brings healing. My therapeutic, raw and gritty art approach impacts our relationships with us, at home, at work and in the wider world. I enthusiastically embrace my own Personal Therapy and Coaching. I am committed to becoming unleashed with the intention of holding space so others may also become unleashed.

About Dani….Dani Diosi DipHe, DypHyp MHS is a highly qualified and experienced Antenatal & Childbirth educator, hypnotherapist, Doula and NLP Master Practioner With nearly 20 years experience. Her passion combined with vast experience in all areas makes her uniquely qualified to train hypnobirthing practitioners and teachers and it is her absolute passion to enable as many people as possible to pass on hypnobirthing techniques in a way that highlights their existing skill set. She understands the juggle of running a successful business whilst wanting to support as many pregnant parents through a smooth birth and is creating a ripple effect within the industry to empower more businesses that work within the birthing & pregnancy areas to include hypnobirthing as a way to give you and your clients more empowerment and confidence. She runs regular hypnobirthing instructor training courses both virtually and in person and has trained practitioners in the UK and internationally. You can find more about her courses here. She originally taught for the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) and utilised her own experience as a mother to twins to specialise in multiple birth classes. She subsequently qualified in Natal Hypnotherapy in 2008 and worked very closely with Maggie Howell (Natal Hypnotherapy’s founder and director) teaching the course and training and assessing new practitioners. Dani set up her own hypnobirthing programme in 2015 after qualifying as a hypnotherapist in 2012 and is a recognised Doula with Doula UK and Birth Bliss . She recognises the importance of learning knowledge in a fun, supportive way but also in a way that you can tailor to your strengths. This is the exact reason she has created her hypnobirthing teacher training courses in a way that gives you all the training you need but she also teaches how you can integrate it into an existing business and / or develop your own way of delivery. Being unique and standing out is so important as that’s why your clients will want to work with you. Dani also works with expectant parents co-founder of the successful AllAboutAntenatal programme. Glen Park Primary School

2DE,

Glen Park Primary is a two-form entry school set in wonderful grounds in Plympton. We are very proud of our school and the achievement and attitudes of our pupils. On the 1st September 2016, Glen Park Primary converted to academy status, and we are a member of the Westcountry Schools Trust. This is a collaboration of 13 primary and 5 secondary schools. We are very excited about the opportunities that the Trust and collaboration between the schools offers and supports us in our own school development and sharing of best practice. For further information about the Westcountry Schools Trust and to visit the Trust's website please click here. Our aim is simple; to ensure the best possible outcomes in terms of progress and attainment for every pupil, by providing the highest quality teaching and learning possible. We are extremely fortunate to have a highly committed staff who share the common aim of wanting to give your child the best possible start in life. Not only do we strive to achieve the highest level in literacy, numeracy and all round education, but we also work hard to ensure your children are safe, happy and contribute to our excellent standards of behaviour. In May 2019 the school received a Section 8 Ofsted Inspection. This was a single day inspection as the school was previously judged to be ‘good’ during our last inspection in 2012. The purpose of a short Section 8 inspection is to determine whether the school continues to provide a good standard of education and whether safeguarding is effective. We were delighted that the school secured the highest possible outcome from the process. Ofsted have concluded that whilst the school continues to offer our children a ‘good’ level of provision, there is sufficient evidence to suggest that the school may be judged outstanding if it received a full Section 5 inspection now. This means Ofsted will return to the school within the next 12-24 months to carry out a full Section 5 inspection. The HMI who carried out the inspection judged the school to have made significant process in a number of key areas. A copy of the inspection letter can be accessed here. Our curriculum is rich and vibrant, and we understand that every child is unique and at Glen Park Primary we care very much about the all-round development of every individual. We believe strongly that the education of your child has to be a partnership between home and school where there is an established bond of trust and support. This is something that we work hard to achieve, and my door is always open to parents, staff, prospective parents and of course our children. I value what everyone has to say, no matter how small they are! If you are an existing member of our school community, I hope you enjoy looking at all our photos of the rich curriculum that we have to offer and finding up to date information about our school. If you are a visitor or a prospective parent, I hope you find our website useful. If you would like to find out more about the school, then please contact us to make an appointment to come and meet us.
