business storytelling academy

Berkshire,

The Business Storytelling Academy was created to tackle a frustration familiar to many companies - the spectre of being overlooked by prospects and overshadowed by competitors. We teach our clients how to cut through the noise with the very same techniques used by the world of media and entertainment. Our courses bring a little bit of Hollywood to your business message. What this means to you Through creative storytelling you can disrupt the status quo and compete against rivals with deeper pockets. Our academy teaches you how to raise your game and craft a more magnetic, engaging and inspiring story about your business. Business owners and marketing professionals who have attended our classroom sessions have gone on to create compelling content that has differentiated their entire brand message. Others have built more successful sales presentations; some now benefit from more shareable social media. Many, consistently win the hearts and minds of their target audiences. Business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C), our six-step story formula is proven. No matter what size or type of business you are. But more importantly, our courses show you that to be business-to-human (B2H) works best! Elevate your pitch There are only so-many classroom training sessions we can physically do, and whilst we love travelling the world teaching and consulting on business storytelling, we have finally decided to answer the most common question we get from our delegates. Can I get this training online? Now you can. Everything we teach is one click away to any business, any professional, anywhere in the world, at any time. We believe that now is the time to create a fresh narrative for your company. Now is the time to elevate your pitch.

Lotus Midwife

lotus midwife

Eton

I have three beautiful and challenging teenagers! Zaiah was born Vaginally Breech (Bottom first!) Isaac was breech for a while and then I had him turned (by ECV) and subsequently had him at home, and Otto was born premature at 32 weeks, also Breech and by Emergency C-Section. My personal birth experiences and the ways in which I was cared for during my pregnancies and births have shaped me as both woman and midwife. My journey to Midwifery began in 2008 where, as part of my IBCLC training, I attended a 'Womb to World' conference. At the conference, one of the speakers included a wonderfully funny and engaging lady called Ina May Gaskin, the author of 'Spiritual Midwifery'. I was already a Breastfeeding Counsellor with the charity the 'Association of Breastfeeding Mothers', and was working hard towards my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant qualification. My own babies were all approaching school age and I was at a milestone in my life, deciding whether to return to secondary school teaching, or to try something else. Ina May Gaskin opened my eyes to Midwifery, through the way she presented pregnancy, birth and motherhood, and I left the conference having decided that I was not going to return to teaching (which actually I hated!) I was going to be a Midwife! I commenced my training in 2009, qualifying in October 2012. In Aug 2012, I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to The Farm Midwifery Centre in Tennessee, (where Ina May lives and works) and witness the amazing work of Ina May and Pamela Hunt (another original 'Farm Midwife') first hand. At The Farm, I completed the Advanced Midwifery Workshop, and the course included many aspects of how to keep birth as physiological as possible. At the end of the course, there's a ceremony in which the Farm Midwives Bless the participants hands. At each Birth I have attended, as my hands are poised, ready to receive the new life, I am reminded of the ceremony and -I truly believe- my calling to be 'with woman'. For me at the time, travelling to The Farm, symbolised the completion of a circle of events that led me to finding myself as a Midwife. However, I was naiieve- my journey to Tennessee wasn't the end of the journey-it was a new beginning. My passion for a holistic approach to midwifery care has never left me, and I use this to support families through more challenging pregnancies. Women who are known within obstetrics to be 'high risk' deserve to be nurtured, cared for and given evidence based choices so they can make informed decisions regarding their care. I am humbled by the birth process and the families I serve. I am proudly a Registered Midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Tongue Tie Specialist. I also volunteer for the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers as Regional Supervisor for the East of England, and as well as being a Trustee for the charity, I run a weekly support group for Breastfeeding Families. My family life finds me as a single parent to my daughter aged 20, and two sons, aged 17 and 15, life is a challenge with teenagers, but they are great fun! Our family time includes eating too many roast dinners and camping in our VW called 'Old Bill', and in my spare time enjoy swimming, walking and running with our crazy rescue puppy 'Blue'.

Well Intervention and Productivity School

By EnergyEdge - Training for a Sustainable Energy Future

About this Training Course Well interventions have a large opportunity to enhance well production if correctly designed and implemented. Conversely, they can have a large negative impact on production if they're not. The Well Intervention & Productivity School (WIPS) is designed to help well intervention specialists, well service supervisors, and petroleum engineers become more aware of the problems that can arise in the planning and execution of well interventions. This 5 full-day course is designed to make those that attend aware of how their job can directly impact the productivity. Early identification of problems in wells and effective interventions to fix problems can have a significant impact by minimising lost oil through formation damage and non productive time. As well as discussing best practice, time will be made available for discussion relating to specific problems that may be affecting fields operated by members of the class. The course is a mixture of informal teaching and lectures. In addition, group exercises are used to reinforce the subjects covered during the lectures. This encourages cross discipline awareness, communication and motivates team building. The course has recently been updated in the areas of Subsea and HPHT interventions. This course can also be offered through Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) format. Training Objectives Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to: Identify the main reasons for performing well interventions. Identify the main formation damage mechanisms and understand how to prevent them. Improve your knowledge and understanding of well barriers. Improve your knowledge of pumping and stimulation operations. Improve your knowledge of wireline, coiled tubing and hydraulic workover operations. Target Audience The course is aimed at all engineers and contractors involved in the planning and execution of well interventions. This is a school where engineers and supervisors can hone their skills, especially at a time when increased production is a high priority. In the past, course attendees have been a mix of Petroleum engineers, Well Intervention engineers, Reservoir and Drilling engineers, Production Operators, Wellsite supervisors, as well as Geologists. In recent years, delegates have come from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. Experience before coming on the course has varied from no field experience and no experience of planning and programming well interventions through to many years working in well interventions. In order to be able to best adapt the course to the delegates expectations, you will be required to submit a pre-course questionnaire upon submission of your registration. Course Level Intermediate Trainer Your expert course leader has over 40 years in the oil industry. During that time, he has worked exclusively in well intervention and completions. After a number of years working for intervention service companies (mostly slickline), he joined BP as an offshore well service supervisor. He was responsible for the day-to-day supervision of well intervention work on many of BP's North Sea platforms and subsea wells. This included coil tubing, e-line, slickline, stimulation and well test operations. An office-based role as a well operations engineer followed. He was responsible for planning, programming and organising of all the well intervention work on the Bruce and later the Magnus fields. In 1995, he moved into completion design. Since then, he has designed many platform and sub-sea completions, often travelling to the rig site to oversee the installation. In addition to his day-to-day work as a completion engineer, he regularly teaches completion and well intervention courses all over the world. He is also the author of the book, Well Control for Completions and Interventions, Gulf Publishing - April 2018. He has also appeared as an expert witness ant the International Court of Arbitration.   POST TRAINING COACHING SUPPORT (OPTIONAL) To further optimise your learning experience from our courses, we also offer individualized 'One to One' coaching support for 2 hours post training. We can help improve your competence in your chosen area of interest, based on your learning needs and available hours. This is a great opportunity to improve your capability and confidence in a particular area of expertise. It will be delivered over a secure video conference call by one of our senior trainers. They will work with you to create a tailor-made coaching program that will help you achieve your goals faster. Abstract Stone Carving Course with Mark Stonestreet

5.0(27)

By Phoenix Studio

Stone Carving made a return to the Phoenix last year when we welcomed Mark Stonestreet to come teach us the joys of creating free-standing abstract sculpture. It was an absolutely fantastic course! This year Mark is coming back for more and this time we’re giving the students more stone to create with and more time – 5 days to be precise! The dusty nature of stone means that we will be working under a marquee set within the studio’s beautiful meadow – what better way to spend your summer – especially when none of us can go abroad? Outside of a global pandemic, Mark spends half the year creating sculpture in the South Downs and the other half in Mamallapuram in India – a village of over 200 stone carving workshops. His life is in stone and I liked him the instant we met. He is everything you would expect a stone carver to be – sturdy, weathered (meant in the nicest possible way, I promise Mark!) with a warm, no-nonsense personality that immediately puts you at ease. Our students are in safe hands working with him and I cannot wait to see what they will achieve this year! 23/08/2021 - 27/08/2021 10:00 am - 4:30 pm Location: The Phoenix Studio This fun course includes: Informal, relaxed & attentive guidance for every student, provided by Mark Stonestreet Step-by-step demonstrations covering… How to work with the tools and stone safely, How to create an abstract design that will look good and have structural integrity, How to transfer your design to the stone and carve into it efficiently to create the basic shape, How to add detail and refine the carved form, How to finish and present the form (looking at finishes, treatment, and mounting). This course is for you if: You want to realise drawings and 2D designs into 3D or have an introduction to visualizing your ideas in 3D You want to explore your creativity but lack the confidence to do so on your own You want to learn how to work safely and competently in stone You want to get away from it all and immerse yourself in a fun, creative environment Suitable for? Anyone, but please note that you will be using a chisel and mallet throughout the three days and this will take it’s toll on your arms and body. We generally limit the age to 16 years old+ though exceptions can be made where appropriate. Please contact James Orts and ask. What is included in the price? Five full days tuition (10 am-4.30 pm) Materials, including a piece of Portland stone (approximately 55cm x 25cm x 22cm), safety gear, and the tools you will need for when on the course You could consider making a simple printed course handout outlining the technique’s main principles and useful links/suppliers – Totally your choice though! Tea, coffee, biscuits/cakes Use of a beautiful, purpose-built art studio with all the equipment & materials you will need Beautiful countryside setting Pre-course prep It would be useful to gather, sketch out or think about what abstract shapes you are drawn to. Mark will be able to provide ideas as well and advise you on which of your ideas may work best so having some ideas to work from would be useful. You will be working outdoors so come prepared for the forecasted weather and all students must work in sturdy shoes. You will be sent an automated email on booking which prompts you towards documents that help you prepare for your time here. If this does not happen then please email James before the course.   Beyond The Course Having completed a Phoenix Studio course many of our students choose to explore the medium further. They may come on another weekend course, start coming to our Phoenix Art Club Sessions or our Creative Monday Sessions, or carry on independently at home. We are more than happy to help and advise you in taking those first creative steps! Need accommodation? If you are travelling from further afield and would like to stay in the area for your visit then have a look at our recommend B&Bs and hotels. Click here for the list.
