We excel at delivering training into schools, academies and colleges across the UK; our main objectives are: for the students to enjoy and be interactive with the learning to increase their awareness of their own skills and development areas, and to increase their confidence levels for the students to understand what’s expected of them in future years All courses are prepared, school branded and delivered according to the year group and the learning outcomes required by yourself. We can even provide you with a set of homework questions for the students to work on related to the delivery. Deliveries can be to form time, a lesson, enrichment periods, drop downs, assemblies, work experience and careers weeks or summer school; all onsite or online. BOOST Life Skills also co-hosts and delivers online during evenings to parents to help them understand how they can support students with the development of these skills. Online is very scalable across multiple classes at the same time for the same single cost per lesson. A PDF 1 page summary, learning log and school/academy branded certificate for the students are also available. Onsite training delivery costs are more variable due to complexity and location and are available on discussion/application. As the Managing Director & Lead Trainer of 1st ACT Ltd, my role is to co-ordinate the training, the syllabuses, the trainers and the venues to make your experience the best it can be. We've made changes over the last 10 years, all based on client feedback. My personal First Aid background goes back to 1990, when I joined the British Army and was being trained and fully prepared to serve in the golf war. First Aid is obviously a priority for all our military personnel, but when you feel it could be needed soon, it definitely makes you sit up and listen. At least it did with me, so much so that I wanted to know more and more about the amazing human body. After leaving the forces it appeared to me, to be a natural progression to enter into the Emergency Services, so after a few years with Wiltshire Fire Brigade I moved onto London Fire Brigade in 2000. With our First Aid knowledge and some with training backgrounds, my colleagues and I were asked to assess and then train First Aid for a few large companies based around the South East of England. I setup and established 1st ACT in April 2007 (becoming a Limited Company in April 2015) with the aim of making life saving skills affordable to all without dropping any of the high standards often found in larger organisations. With 1st ACT Ltd you still get the same wealth of experience and high level of training but at prices our competitors simply cannot come close to on Ofqual regulated courses!

Hi, I'm Loren Snow: an autism trainer based in Bristol. I’ve spent the past decade studying mental health, psychology, relationships, identity, and just about anything to do with why we humans think and act the way we do. I believe that we're all human, and make mistakes, fumble, fall, laugh, love - and despite our differences, we all share this same connection. I'm a strong believer in having the courage to be open and honest and that our truth and vulnerability can be powerful forces in showing us how connected we really are. In my early-twenties I was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and OCD. For me, these were revelations, and all the strange ways I behaved started to make sense. But why in my twenties... surely someone should have noticed or said something?!? As I came to learn more about autism I soon realised that my experience was all too common. The reality is there are many complicated things around autism, such as echolalia, alexithymia, and proprioception; there are many misconceptions in the media, such as autistic people lacking empathy; and there are many mis/un-diagnosed autistic adults out there like I used to be. This made me decide that I should explain these things so others wouldn't have to struggle as I did. I've spoken on podcasts, radio, to large and small crowds. My YouTube videos have been watched by tens of thousands! I've taught thousands of parents of autistic and ADHD children and teach regular courses to parents and autistic people. I see many businesses confused about how to help, parents lost on what to believe, and autistic people struggling to understand themselves. So what better place to learn about autism than directly from an autistic person like myself!

She has worked within mainstream education, special schools, and professional associations and for the Department of Education in a career that spans over 30 years. She is a member of the European register of NROLE (those Nationally Recognised as Outstanding Leaders in Education). OFSTED describe her as “A very effective and inspirational Leader who provides clear vision and direction.” She has project managed Additional Language Services, established a Parent Partnership Service in Suffolk that provided school improvement and parent support services as well as setting up PRU and Behavioural Support services. She has worked internationally as well as nationally and regularly speaks at Education Conferences. In addition for the last 10 years Eithne has written for magazines and publications such as the Heads Legal Guide, The Secondary Heads Association, Home-School Practice issues. During her years as a Head Teacher at First Base (a Pupil Referral Unit and Behaviour Support Service for 111 schools in Suffolk) she attracted national recognition for her innovative work with the main client group of 3 – 8 year olds and also for cross age tutoring of Key Stage 3 and 4 students (13 – 16 year olds) at risk of exclusion and disaffection. In recent years Eithne has gained experience in the National Strategies working in interim Regional Adviser roles for Early Years and also for School Improvement, providing advice and guidance to Local Authorities in Northamptonshire and more recently in Hounslow. Eithne's consultancy work in recent years has involved: training for teachers and headteachers in developing effective school improvement, schools and working in these areas at a more strategic level with Local Authorities. Amplify is a training and development consultancy led by Tom Burke. Founded in 2003, amplify provides services primarily to the voluntary sector with a focus on children and youth issues both in the UK and in the Global South. Tom has an extensive history of personal, professional and voluntary work with children and young people and the wider voluntary sector. From a child involved in youth work and global child rights advocacy, he developed skills and experience as a practitioner and advocate. He can bring this mix of experiences into work as a trainer, writer and consultant. Most recently, Tom was Deputy Chief Executive at Y Care International, the international development agency of the YMCA movement. He led their International Citizen Service youth volunteering programme, safeguarding & security, global youth work, policy & advocacy and financial management. Working part-time this was balanced with a range of freelance projects. Previously, Tom grew up in the youth and child rights movement. He was previously Senior Policy and Change Officer at the Children’s Rights Alliance for England, where he specialised in children’s participation rights, undertaking policy analysis, Parliamentary lobbying and campaigning for change. JasonPB (Jason Parnell-Brookes) is an internationally award-winning photographer, educator and writer based in Frome, UK. A qualified teacher and Master’s graduate, Jason was Highly Commended in the Mammal Society Photographer of the Year Awards 2013 before being named Digital Photographer of the Year 2014 for his macro work and winning the Gold Prize award for his portraiture in the Nikon Photo Contest International 2018-19, one of the world’s biggest photography competitions. His wealth of academic and real-world experience in a variety of photographic disciplines makes Jason the perfect photography educator, able to talk authoritatively on multiple subjects, as he did at The Photography Show 2017. In his decade-long career Jason has worked for big fashion brands like Superdry and Tu Sainsbury’s as both a photographer and retoucher. He was a photographic adviser and writer for World of Animals, and became Technique Editor on N-Photo magazine where he worked for four years. He’s also shot and written advertising campaigns for London Camera Exchange and MPB.
