In October of 2018, two women connected through mutual friends, but strangers at the time, came together because of a sign ... a ‘For Rent’ sign! Quickly finding out they had shared passions for helping people thrive through movement, cycling for Kelly and yoga for Chrissy, their dream became a reality in Fit2Shine Studio. Just a little over a year after opening, COVID tried to shut the doors, but they pivoted, rebounded, and made it through making changes as needed over the next two years. In 2022, after three years of partnership, they parted ways, and Kelly remains to continue the mission of Fit2Shine Studio. This is a place where people come to find energy, strength, and peace through fitness. With cycling, yoga, and strength classes, we offer healing for the body, mind, and soul. Whether your day calls for you to hop on a bike and ride your heart out (building your cardiovascular system) while having a blast with loud music and strong encouragement in CYCLE class, to discover your physical strength by squatting and lifting heavy things (building your muscular skeletal system) in strength class, or to find your internal strength and peace in yoga class (building your nervous system), you can find it at Fit2Shine Studio. Who We Are & Where We Are High Peak School is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties. We have a specific provision within the school called the Quiet Learning Zone where we support children and young people who have an autistic spectrum condition including Asperger’s syndrome and those who have communication and sensory difficulties. The environment and teaching approaches are bespoke and tailored to ensure our children and young people thrive and can develop their self-esteem. We have extensive experience of supporting those with attachment disorders or those who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Hello, and thank you for popping by. People often ask me why I do what I do. Well, in 2010 I experienced a heartbreaking bereavement to suicide. Sadly, my son’s father, lost his struggle with poor mental health. My son and I faced the challenges and adversity that came with this traumatic experience. This bereavement to suicide contributed towards experiencing a downward spiral of declining mental health. The ‘’just keep swimming’’ mantra, so prevalent in society, became unmanageable. I was drowning and recognised I needed HELP. While researching my way back to good mental health, using tools such as GRM (The Grief Recovery Method ®), Mindfulness and NLP, I discovered that truly HELPful support was hard to find. My realisation that I needed help brought about a motivation to survive and thrive from my experience. I am a proactive and HELPful coach. I use my credentials as a Master NLP practitioner, Grief Recovery Method® Specialist and Mindfulness Teacher to provide an all-encompassing approach that has resulted in helping over 1000 people. My mission is to provide people with HELP that supports positive mental health and prevent other families from experiencing loss due to poor mental health. In all my coaching and training, I apply Honesty and Empathy while really Listening and giving Practical advice that makes a difference. Because it’s OK to ask for HELP.
