Healthy Human

healthy human

Leeds

Healthy Human was first established in 2018.  At the time both Nicky and Alison were in practice and looking for a partner to help them create a 360 method to supporting clients back to better health and happiness. In 2019 they found each other and 'Healthy Human 360' was born.  As lockdown hit Nicky and Alison decided to move their programmes online so that anyone could access them, despite the current restrictions.  This move turned out to beneficial in even more ways, for example for those who didn't live in the region where Alison and Nicky practice, for clients with busy lives who needed to fit a programme in around their schedule.  An online and on demand course was giving clients total flexibility to go at a pace to suit them and their lives.  They enjoyed that they could repeat or dip back into lessons as often as they liked; and for some the icing on the cake was they didn't have to expose themselves to a gym or weight watching club, which can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming or scary.  You're in good hands   Nicky and Alison's evidence based health programmes are crafted from years of experience and specialist knowledge.  The 360 method ensures a higher success rate; with easy to follow and progressive steps, clients are able to move from being stuck and unhappy to a better place of health, in better shape, and with a whole new mindset.   Both partners also continue practices in their respective areas of specialism.  For a bit more of an insight into your therapists, Alison and Nicky, read on... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALISON BRAITHWAITE MSC, CIPD Alison has been working in the wellbeing sector for nearly 20 years and is a qualified holistic therapist and life coach, with a deep understanding of mental health having worked in that sector of the NHS since 2007.  During her time with the NHS Alison has provided coaching and mentorship for numerous NHS staff within the Yorkshire and Humber region, as part of a volunteer scheme run by the NHS Leadership Academy. In her practice and courses she combines traditional coaching with a range of holistic therapies (including Reiki and aromatherapy) and with psychotherapy approaches (including meditative hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)), this is both powerful and unique.   Alison qualified with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in 2003 as a trainer, and today is an experienced trainer, facilitator, and course designer.   Continuing to keep a presence in mental health, wellbeing, equality and diversity; Alison holds a part time position within the NHS, working across the country's health and care system as the Deputy Director for a small and impactful team called Thrive by Design [https://www.thrivebydesign.org.uk/] You can also take Reiki and crystal courses with Alison through the British Reiki Circle [https://british-reiki-circle.cademy.co.uk/] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NICOLA SAINTY DIP. Andrew Okaro

andrew okaro

My name is Andrew Okaro, I’m a therapist and coach who specializes in relationships, inner child therapy and career transformation. I’m passionate about helping others to achieve their goals and to reach their full potential. I’ve been interested in self-development ever since I learnt how to read, and was able to borrow books from my local library. However, my 1st career was working as a Graphics Designer, which lead to further work in world of advertising. In my 20’s I had my dream job, and a flat in central London, all the things I wanted to have growing up as a teenager. However, I struggled with relationships and found myself repeatedly disappointment in matters of love and the heart. At the same time, I became interested in psychology, in particular the works of Carl Jung, and Freud. What fascinated me, was the idea that your childhood experiences and the relationships with your parents, are key factors in shaping your life as an adult. I also became interested in the world of spirituality and was naturally drawn to Toaism and Shamanism. I studied various universal laws such as 'the law of polarity' ‘the law of resonance’ and ‘the law of attraction.’ But not from the superficial view often portrayed in documentaries like ‘The secret’. I was more interested in the workings of the unconscious mind, and how attraction is often influenced by, archetypes, inner parts and shadow aspects of the psyche. I started to see how the relationship with my mother fitted the pattern of my early relationships. But knowledge alone, was not enough to transform this, and I realized that I had to dig deeper in order to experience transformation. After a particularly bad breakup, I became aware of healing power of EFT (emotional freedom technique) and NLP (neuro linguistic programming). While practicing these for some time I became aware of several shifts which manifested as synchronicities in my life. Some of these were subtle, while others were blatantly obvious, like two ex’s contacting me within a space of a couple days.

John Grimes Yoga

john grimes yoga

I have always been interested in the therapeutic aspects of yoga and how it helps maintain health and aid recovery from various conditions and illnesses. I am drawn to yoga because it addresses our whole being and was developed to provide harmony of the mind, spirit and body. My interest in yoga started over 20 years ago when I was looking for ways to cope with a stressful job and for help in recovering from serious illness. Yoga very quickly became part of my daily life and was instrumental in my recovery and reducing my stress when I returned to work. Over time, I found myself being drawn more and more to my Yoga practice and wanted to know more and to be able to share this knowledge with others. Eventually I decided to leave the software industry and become a full time Yoga Teacher. I studied at the Yoga for Health Foundation which trained yoga students to teach both general and remedial yoga and whose mantra was “yoga for all”. It was a registered charity and famous worldwide for the work it did with people who have chronic illness or disabilities to help them improve their health and well-being through yoga and meditation. The Foundation has now closed but The Yoga for Health and Education Trust has carried on the work and values of the Foundation. Most recently I have trained with the Yoga Bio Medical Trust and Yogacampus to become a yoga therapist enabling me to adapt yoga practices on an individual basis for people with health problems such as lower back pain and high blood pressure. Although passionate about the benefits of yoga to anyone who practises I also believe that life should not be too serious and try to incorporate some fun and laughter in everything I do. 2003 – Qualified Yoga Teacher – Yoga for Health Foundation 2005 – Qualified Remedial Yoga Teacher – Yoga for Health Foundation 2006 – Foundation Course – Association of Yoga Studies (Vini Yoga) 2006 – Yoga Therapy Foundation Course – Yoga Bio Medical Trust and Yogacampus 2010 – Yoga Therapy Diploma – Yoga Bio Medical Trust and Yogacampus 2010 – Registered with CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) 2017 – Certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists

I’ve been an holistic therapist since 1996 gosh!!! having always been different I suppose you would call me an eclectic blend of witch, druid, Buddhist, spirit, star-seed and light-worker all rolled into one. Having studied a variety of beliefs, traditions and religions, I’ve taken what I’ve liked and left the bits I don’t. I’ve always lived a busy life style you know …. work, travel, going to clubs , circles, groups and Moots. My life was happy and fulfilled . I’ve worked for myself making lotions and potions , I’ve always been called a Witch, but i don’t mind.., I’ve traveled the world, life was good until I returned from Vietnam having had my booster jab at my Gps surgery. Recovering.. In 2016 after a Hepatitis vaccination left me with my body attacking its self , with stroke like symptoms unable to move more that a few feet let alone walk, talk or look after myself. I was added to the list of random side effects and given a diagnosis of ME/CFs . later on that years fibromyalgia was added to the list having had all joints in my body attacked leaving me in pain like I’ve never experienced (except for child birth..) So, it’s been an up hill struggle these last few years. I’ve returned to my roots seeking out like-minded people and those who can offer healing on an energetic level. I trained in Angelic Reiki and what an experience that was.. Beautiful if not profound connection with the Angelic Realm, I often call upon them when times are hard. My grand-pier had passed to the world of spirit not long before I got sick and during that same year I must have gone to 20 funerals. Three of my friends passed within two weeks and over that 10 month period it became a stand joke, no one would stand near me.. I don’t know how I would have made it through if I didn’t know where they were going or if they were alright. But, I do know where they are, I have that comfort and often feel them around me, I wish you all felt what I feel, the love and support they send, and you can..

The Bwrt Institute

the bwrt institute

The Institute is the Training Arm of the BWRT® methodology - If you're searching for therapy, please visit https://bwrt-professionals.com BWRT has already been the subject of a Ph.D. awarded from Lincoln University, UK, and a clinical trial is currently (at May 2022) in progress: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34696777/ The trial is being funded and conducted by the University of Bergen, Norway, after professors there were impressed with its performance. The Terence Watts BWRT Institute was formerly known as The Institute of BrainWorking Recursive Therapy. It was renamed in October 2018 to better show the therapeutic origins of the process. BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® - BWRT® - was created in 2011 by Terence Watts, a therapist, author of many books and training courses and principal of the Essex Institute in Essex, UK. Like many great ideas it was born out of a moment of inspiration while reading about some experiments carried out in 1983 and later which appeared to show that we don't actually have free will in the way we usually think of it. More than that, it showed that decisions were made and acted upon by our mental processes before we become consciously aware of them. Who is Terence Watts? Click here to find out. It was immediately evident that this process accounted for a huge number of the psychological difficulties which so many people have to put up with, and obvious, too, that with some research it could provide the basis for a profound therapeutic intervention, something potentially more powerful and effective than anything that existed to date. Terence had for some time been working on an idea to work with several complicated issues: Why we sometimes can't stop ourselves doing things. Why we sometimes feel that we just cannot do something we would really like to. Why we so often limit ourselves from getting on with life. Why we sometimes give up on something without even trying properly to do it. Why we sometimes fear something when there's no real reason to do so. Why some situations 'trigger' uncomfortable feelings, even though we have no idea why. Why therapy doesn't always work as we want it to.
