terptree
I started learning British Sign Language (BSL) at the age of 13, when my cousin
Max was diagnosed as profoundly Deaf. The moment I started signing and became
involved in the Deaf community; going to deaf clubs and volunteering at various
charity events, I immediately felt a part of the community. Max is always at the
heart of what we do at terptree. The daily barriers that he faces accessing the
world acts as a deep-rooted motivation for me and our team. We truly care about
about creating a world in which deaf people can exist equally to hearing people.
My strong connection with the deaf community brings a real understanding of the
issues that are faced. This knowledge and experience enables us at terptree to
help implement the unique but simple solutions to make real change happen.”
