We are located in an area of South London that faces many issues including lower
than average levels of physical activity, high levels of childhood obesity,
poverty and gang violence. We believe that Gymnastics and sport can help in
provide an answer to these issues in our local community. SGC is about more than
just Gymnastics and this is what drives us to provide as many great
opportunities as possible for everyone that we connect with. Our facilities are
already over stretched and at capacity meaning that over 2,000 local youngsters
have registered to enrol on our recreational programme but cannot be offered a
space. The limitations from using shared spaces that are not designed
specifically for Gymnastics mean that talented athletes leave SGC to train at
better equipped clubs at an increased cost for themselves.
