Supplying Free Training to Mexborough Mexborough Resource and Training Centre is located on the corner of Hampden Road/Dolcliffe Road in central Mexborough, easily accessible by car or public transport. Mexborough is in the catchment area for Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, an often-overlooked fabulous central point for people wishing to access this area of South Yorkshire. The resource centre was recently purchased by Peter Newman, a local businessman, who is also the owner of Mexborough Business Centre. Aquired in December 2015 Peter and his team have successfully built up its tenancy from 25% to 90% capacity, whilst securing an ongoing commitment to the restoration of this original Victorian building. We are hoping to attract training companies looking for new venues in the South Yorkshire area. We will work alongside Mexborough Community Partnership, a social enterprise, who are already based at the Resource Centre in a bid to also attract more community/charity groups who require space and funding.

All the courses I run have one main aim, to equip you with everything you need, to have a birth you feel calm and confident about. I will teach you how your body works during labour and birth, tools and techniques to work with your body and make labour as comfortable as possible for you, including massage techniques your birth partner can use, and mindset work to help you work through any nerves, fears or doubts you may have. My courses are all based on science and logic, there is no woo-woo involved (although I don’t mind a bit of woo if you want to bring your own) and my approach to teaching is very open and honest, no questions are off limits, I am here to support you and your birth choices. There is a common misconception that hypnobirthing is a type of birth, or can only be used for certain kinds of birth. This couldn’t be further from the truth, so whether you are planning a home birth or an elective caesarean, you will benefit from a hypnobirthing course.

We collect waste wood from a variety of companies and businesses from firms that have pallets and wood packaging waste, local engineers, theatres, production companies through to private house renovations. We also work with large national building sites: the construction process continually generates so much waste wood, much of which is reusable so keeps our shop stock varied and sustainable. The wood is then brought back to our warehouse, processed and repurposed to sell to the public in our shop. Doing this is very labour-intensive so creates lots of jobs, training and volunteering opportunities, providing local people with new skills and confidence to find work and improve their lives. We aim to be part of the regeneration of our local area and provide a positive impact. If your organisation normally uses a skip to get rid of your wood waste – we can compete and offer a better deal! Wildlings & Wellbeing CIC aims to reduce social isolation and improve mental well-being through nature connection and social engagement, by providing accessible and inclusive outdoor sessions at several locations throughout the Doncaster borough. We encourage Doncaster residents to get outdoors in all weathers and improve physical development whilst learning transferable life skills. We provide after school and extracurricular activities for children and young people and are a registered destination for Children’s University. Our nurture and well-being sessions are for personal and spiritual development. Our team of graduate professionals have backgrounds in child development, teaching, nursing, well-being and holistic therapies and youth work. Working in a natural environment helps to create a holistic approach to learning and development. Attendees will develop their physical, social and emotional needs through a person-centred long-term educational journey, improving confidence and well-being. Wildlings will be working closely with the safer communities teams and family hubs across Doncaster, in addition to other local community organisations and charities. Adult well-being sessions are also available, to meet up, have a chat around the campfire and learn new skills for personal development.

I’m the eldest of three girls, and as we were growing up, our mum made wedding dresses, upholstered furniture and created most of our clothes on her sewing machine. So I think it was inevitable that one of us would grow up with a creative streak. I’ve always enjoyed making things, not all of my ventures have been successful, but since moving into our current house and being somewhat uninspired by the range of beige lampshades on offer on the high street, I decided to learn how to make my own. Since that day I’ve become addicted. I feel lucky to have found a way to combine my love of beautiful fabrics with interiors – and spread the lampshade love to homes across Yorkshire and beyond. It’s something I take great pride in. I’m passionate about helping clients find that perfect fabric to match their new scheme and make them something unique – something they couldn’t find on the High Street. I also love teaching people how to make their own, on my lampshade making workshops – the smile as their lampshade starts to take shape is priceless. A bespoke twelve-week resilience and anger management programme, for your school. Sessions can be devised to meet your cohort requirements. Our programme supports Y5 & Y6, students who form part of your ‘hard to reach’ cohort, who without preventative intervention may struggle with transition into Y7 and may become at risk of permanent exclusion. Our programme can be tailored for Y7 students to support them further, post transition. Furthermore, we can adapt our programme to engage with vulnerable students who are low in confidence, self esteem and social skills. Week 1 is an introduction to the course to students. Weeks 2 -11 is; A one-hour period of Taekwondo, teaching students the importance of self-discipline and respect, whilst improving self-esteem, confidence and team working skills. A one-hour classroom-based session covering: mental health; mindfulness; sleep hygiene; relaxation & calming techniques; health and well-being; resilience and positive mental attitude. We can also deliver lessons exploring how to be a model citizen, and how to avoid becoming drawn into contemporary youth crime such as: anti-social behaviour; bullying; truancy; knife crime; gangs and substance misuse. We will also deliver lessons covering; parent abuse; internet safety; personal safety; child sexual exploitation (if the school deems appropriate); crime & consequences; and domestic violence.
