Fran Carpenter is the Managing Director of Frantic Productions Ltd. Frantic was formed in 1998. A prolific writer of school music resources and Christmas nativity plays and musicals, Fran has more than 20 years' experience of teaching early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as a music co-ordinator and specialist class music teacher. Fran's catalogue of school musicals and music education resources is growing all the time, and her nativity plays and musical productions have been performed worldwide in thousands of primary schools. Fran also worked for several years in school television and educational video production. She worked as a member of the producer's team on a series of BBC's Look and Read and on a TEFL video for Pearson Education, and was a co-writer of the accompanying teachers' resource packs. She is a member of the Orff Society UK and much of her music for children is inspired by the creative Orff approach to music education. In addition to her writing work, Fran runs music workshops in nurseries and schools and CPD teacher training courses for music hubs and teacher training colleges. These courses are highly regarded and provide teachers and students with a whole host of ideas for creative music making with early years and primary children. Frantic Productions is also a Music Hub Partner of Bournemouth's Music Hub, SoundStorm, running projects for Bournemouth primary schools and early years providers. Liverpool Arabic Centre (LAC) was initially set up as Nadey Al – Cul in 1995 after a group of parents from Yemeni and Arabic backgrounds raised concerns with each other about their children’s educational and personal development which was being affected by negative experiences they were having within schools and unaddressed issues present due having dual heritage backgrounds. The parents’ aim was to set up a club to support children and young people from Yemeni/Arabic backgrounds for whom there was limited support available from statutory services and a lack of knowledge around specific cultural and religious issues. The aim of the club was to instill cultural pride and support the personal development of the children and young people as well as to encourage the development of their own identities within wider society by educating the children in Arabic language and also through promoting Arabic cultural awareness to the wider community particularly local schools through arts, performance and discussion. In September 2000 Nadey Al – Cul changed its name to Liverpool Yemeni Arabic Club (LYAC) to reflect its expanding service provision and provide a focus on its target group of beneficiaries. LYAC’s activities continued to focus on teaching Arabic language to children and young people, organising educational and cultural activities for families and putting on a Yemeni/Arabic festival to promote and encourage cultural awareness to people from non-Arabic backgrounds. LYAC opened its official premises in Lodge Lane in September 2000. A productive partnership was then formed with the Bluecoat Arts Centre – Nadey Al Bluecoat –which has since developed into the highly successful annual Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival. In 2006 LYAC went through a process of re-branding in order to address the changing needs of the community and to cater for the wider Arab communities settling in the Merseyside area in recent years. We have worked with education and industry professionals to create and develop an apprenticeship standard which meets the needs of employers, and allows apprentices to develop the skills and attributes needed to thrive and succeed in a growing market. With the support of the Federation of Historic British Vehicle Clubs, the Galashan Foundation and the Starter Motor Charity, HSA has developed workshop and training facilities dedicated to Heritage Engineering mechanical, coachbuilding and trim apprenticeships. For apprentices lucky enough to become part of Heritage Skills Academy, our locations within Bicester Heritage and Brooklands Museum provide an exciting and vibrant environment which embeds them within the world of specialist engineers, historic engineering and cutting edge technology. We don't just deliver apprenticeship training; we have worked to develop a recruitment plan which helps free up the time and resource of employers. We work with you to make the recruitment and set up process as easy as possible and are always on the end of the phone to offer support and advice when needed. We believe that only by working together can we ensure the skills and knowledge of passionate professionals are not lost.
