I have a passion for education! After 20 years experience working with pupils in the public and private sectors, including my own children, I know what works. And the glowing reviews I regularly receive from parents prove that I am getting it right! A Star Tuition Group evolved from my own experience when my boys started school. It quickly became apparent that they needed more than school alone could provide. Ben and Mathew attended a high-performing primary school and as a parent, I felt under enormous pressure to ensure that they were not just happy, but also thriving in the classroom. Being a teacher, I was able to provide the extra support the boys needed – not just with homework, but also by taking them onto the next level when they were ready. The results were so impressive that I was asked to teach a neighbour’s daughter. Her father was delighted with the progress she made in such a short time, so he recommended me to his friend. We, like many other teachers, recognise that the pressures of an overloaded curriculum, large class sizes and behaviour problems prevent many students achieving their full potential in school. Whether working towards GCSEs or in Primary education, many students may require support at some point in their education to help reach their potential. However sometimes parents find themselves unable to the give the level or type of support required – perhaps because of working commitments, limited knowledge of successful teaching methods or because of the, inevitable, clashes that can occur when a parents tries to take on the teacher role. As parents ourselves we understand how difficult this can be.

The specialist consultant advised that a program of prescriptive pilates exercises would manage the condition, prevent pain and more importantly avoid future operations. I have been practicing Pilates ever since and I am an advocate of its benefits which include supporting life-long medical conditions, injury prevention and managing stress. I was trained by Cherry Baker, one of the UK’s Leading Pilates practitioners. I hold the highest qualification available in mat based Pilates and have been teaching for over 15 years. Following the success of Poynton Pilates I'm now running new classes at Bramhall Pilates. About Modern Pilates Modern Pilates is a respected and reputable training organisation and is trusted within the industry. Modern Pilates brings Joseph Pilates’ Classical approach into the 21st century by combining his principles with recent research. Malcolm has been a senior manager and leader in large comprehensive schools throughout the North West of England. Organisation and leadership skills are outstanding.
