Special attention at the lesson is paid to the development of speech of babies, fine motor skills, coordination of movement. Children sculpt from plasticine, draw, glue, sing and dance. Middle group Children 4-5 years old The training program includes: – speech development; basics of correct speech, expansion of vocabulary, basic knowledge of sounds, syllables and sentences. Retelling of simple texts. – acquaintance with fiction (reading fairy tales and stories, names of the authors) – acquaintance with elementary mathematical concepts – drawing, dancing Secondary school From the age of 7, children attend secondary school. Margaret is a former primary school teacher and now serves as the Children's Mission Enabler for the Diocese of St Albans, and was formerly Families Pastor at St. George’s Church in west London, where she worked with children and young people from babies to teenagers. She still helps with their Sunday School. Every Mustard Seed Kids product is one she would be happy to have in her own ministry. She has written about children’s ministry for Childrenswork Magazine, the Diocese of London, and SPCK, produced resources for The Children’s Society, and led workshops on storytelling and All-Age worship. Having trained at the RAD and taught at the school for three years, Katherine Richardson BA (Hons) LRAD, ARAD set up The Village School of Dance in 2008 in the heart of Wimbledon Village. The school has grown to encompass the needs of all the dancers who attend, running Christmas productions and summer schools, while offering a full range of Ballet, Modern, Tap, Pointe Work and Body Conditioning classes for children and adults, as well as Darcey Bussell’s brilliant high-intensity fitness class (which is also great fun!), DDMIX. Hello, I am Rebecca Farmer, the Founder of Telling Our Tales. I am a Montessori teacher committed to the ‘follow the child’ philosophy, and part of my work is in Nigeria developing library projects for primary schools. It was there that the inspiration for Telling Our Tales was born. For our libraries we needed early literacy books for beginner readers in English. We wanted these books to reflect the children and the communities they lived in, and be fun, full-colour and vibrant, just like the children who would be reading them. We needed good quality levelled readers that would encourage reading for pleasure whilst also being educational. In every bookstore, the only levelled readers we could find were Keywords with Peter and Jane and other foreign publications—good books, but hardly reflective of Nigeria and its people. We wanted books set in Nigeria, with Nigerian children at the heart of every story, but the books we wanted did not exist, until now!
