The college offers all units of the Diploma in Dance Education, in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance, alongside training in the vocational grades. Adele is one of leading tap dancers in the UK. Adele trained at Tiffany Theatre School, Masters and Expressions Theatre Arts. Adele took her training further in America. Adele is a founding member of a London Based Tap Company, Old Kent Road and Andrew Nemr’s USA based company, ‘Cat’s Paying Dues’ where she performed as part of their 10th Anniversary show Off-Broadway. Old Kent Road have had a number of UK tours including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sadlers Wells,The Bunker and 2 International tours in China. Adele was invited to join The School of Jacob Pillow - 2019 Tap Dance Programme which lead to staring in a new show in the USA, 'What is thing called Love' which premiered in New Hampshire in 2022. Adele regularly performs at the London Tap Jam and with The Michele Drees Tap Project. This includes Glastonbury Music Festival, Love Supreme Jazz Festival and a number of famous jazz venues. She represented England in the Tap Dance World Championships in Resia, Germany. Adele is passionate about the art form and is a specialist in improvisation. Adele has performed at Ronnie Scotts, 606 Club and the Vortex to name a few jazz clubs you're most likely to find her! Recently, Adele has become a special guest for the world famous Jive Aces which has led her to many West End performances. Adele appeared on BBC One as part of the Women’s FA Cup Semi Finals. Adele worked with Lionsgate Productions when releasing the DVD of LaLaLand. Adele is a choreographer for Tap Attack, Performing Arts Colleges and International Shows. Adele has taught and performed at many internationals festivals such as Stockholm, Mallorca, Poland and Germany. As a qualified ISTD teacher, Adele coaches in leading colleges and schools across the country.

Michelle, A.I.S.T.D. , M.B.T.D.A. , Reg RAD Member, began teaching Adult Jazz Dancing in Portishead in 1989. In 1995 the children of the adults wanted a class of their own. Numbers grew rapidly. Michelle also taught for the Bristol School of Dancing (where she trained) from 1986 until February 2014 when the branch was handed over to Michelle. In the Summer of 2014, a super sparkly 25th Anniversary show was staged to celebrate. In June 2016 Michelle was contacted by the BBC to be filmed dancing for the TV programme Street Auction – A fabulous day. MBDS likes to stay in the heart of the community. The children enjoy performing in various events ie carnival, flashmobs,displays etc. MBDS has been involved in the BBC CIN Tapathon for the last 4 years. The school also has 100% exam pass rate. This year the school renamed itself from Jazz on Tap Dance Company to Michelle Bedford Dance Studios. We are a fully ‘inclusive’ school and warmly welcome pupils regardless! The Jo Hyne Dance School is a friendly, local school, with classes in the Totton and Eling Community Centre, Totton, Southampton, Hampshire.photo_3 Jo Hyne Jo has been involved in dance from a young age and was one of an elite few trained by The Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet. Mrs Hyne is also trained and qualified in the ISTD Syllabus (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing), which enables children to be put in for ISTD examinations. The school has been established for 8 years now, and is continuing to grow successfully. We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern Dance, Jazz , Musical Theatre and Street, in a fun but disciplined atmosphere, and the children often get to dance in local fund raising events, school fetes, join in the Carnival and as well as performing in the School Show, children can have the opportunity to audition for local /regional auditions for any productions that arise. BALLET (ISTD). AGE 3 – ADULT This beautiful classical art form is the basis and grounding of all Dance and movement. With its creative lines,artistic shapes and sheer strength, it is the main key to preparing the body to conquer all the other forms of Dance. MODERN DANCE (ISTD) FROM YEAR R- ADULT This is a more energetic, rhythmic dance style which was born in America before travelling worldwide. This is the form often seen in West End shows in the Musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities too. These classes are structured, with set exercises and free work, which include isolations, jumps, and lyrical work. TAP DANCE (ISTD) YEAR R – ADULT This is where the dancer performs wearing special shoes which enable him/ her to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms to give a distinctive sound. This dance form is again found in Musical productions and is also a theatrical art.
