Aviv Dance Studios was founded in 2002 by Nikki Avron. In August 2003, with the support of the Prince’s Trust, the Aviv Dance Studio in Watford was built and became the home of Aviv. In 2013, Nikki stood down from her role, and Fay Liberty took over as Principal/ Director. Since the founding of Aviv in 2002, adults and children in Watford and Harpenden have benefited from a large range of dance classes from beginner to professional levels with a particular emphasis on commercial or ‘MTV’ styles such as Street Dance and Hip-Hop. Aviv boasts a team of highly qualified teachers each with performing experience in their individual specialist fields. For teacher’s biographies, please go to the Faculty page. A variety of classes are available from beginner to advanced levels in Commercial/Street Dance, Freestyle/Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Tap. Please see our Timetables page. Ballet Our ballet classes are a fun, friendly and relaxed way to learn the RAD syllabus. We encourage everybody to dance to the best of their ability, and offer in house class assessments at the end of each year - a brilliant way of allowing children to feel a sense of achievement without the stress of strict, official exams. Enjoy ballet, no matter your ability! Street Dance Our Rising & Shooting Stars can enjoy learning routines each term to their favourite music. We discover new moves, and enhance our skills in balance, turns, and basic street dance tricks. Take part in our annual show, perform at local events and have fun with your friends at our inclusive sessions. Creative Tap Start your tap journey as a Rising Star, with a 15 minute class which introduces the basic moves. Once these are established, our Shooting and Shining Stars can come along to Creative Tap, where we have fun choreographing routines, learning new skills and exploring rhythm and movements with our feet! Musical Theatre Rising & Shooting Stars ca explore their voices with our weekly Musical Theatre class! Each term, we choose a different song from a musical or movie - so far we've covered Mary Poppins, Matilda and Encanto to name a few! We learn the song, and then we explore moving at the same time! It's perfect for encouraging confidence, and finding new talents! Creative Fusion Brand new for 2023, our fantastic workshop style class for our Shining Star students covers street dance and basic acro, alongside stretching and strengthening which are essential for being a well rounded, talented dancer! Learn a new routine each term, help to choreograph a dance to perform on Watching Week, and take part in our annual shows and events too!

SCDC was Founded on June 6th 2011 by Katie Tonkin-Beardmore, SCDC Dance School has grown to become one of the biggest and best-known dance schools in the S-O-T Area. Offering a wide range of classes for all ages & abilities. All Performers/Dancers Will Build Up To Perform In Our Dance School’s Annual Show & Performances held every year. Our aim is to keep kids happy, healthy and out of trouble, since lockdown hit we have seen children’s confidence hit rock bottom, and our aim is to help them get it back. Katie and her amazing team of teachers strive to get the best from your children. If your child is sat at home constantly on their phones/devices SCDC is the best place for them. We will help your child’s confidence by improving their fitness and give them a better social life, making new friends and feeling safe in the environment we provide. We offer classes in Street & Hip Hop Dance, Ballet, Jazz/Commercial, Gymnastics,Singing, Fitness, Yoga, Self Defence, Drama & Musical Theatre. IDTA Exams in Street Dance offered every year. Workshops with Famous Industry Teachers from all over the Globe held every 3 months for extra training. Newcomers are welcome to trial our classes FREE of charge, Booking is required in case our classes have reached full capacity. When arriving at SCDC head to the main reception to speak with our receptionist, upon your arrival you will be given a welcome pack this will include everything you need to attend for the duration of your stay. Uniforms are NOT required at SCDC, we give you the option to buy. Clothing needed for your child/yourself : anything that is breathable, Leggings, Joggers, T-shirts/Hoodies, Trainers for footwear is perfect. The dancer/performer can join in or watch during the FREE trial, parents must wait in the waiting room provided & also view from the viewing windows, whilst enjoying a nice cup of Tea or Coffee. Our studios have a small Confectionary & catering area, feel assured if your peckish or thirsty we have food and drinks available to buy.
