aquastars swim academy
I grew up in a family of swimmers and can’t even remember learning how to swim!
At the age of 15 I became a national breaststroker and also swam at the England
college’s representing Pendleton College. Once I started working, I gained my
NPLQ (Lifeguard) and Level 1 & 2 swimming teaching qualifications which lead me
on to work for a variety of companies and council run organisations allowing me
to gain experience in both the private and public sectors. In 2016 I was part
way through university completing my Paediatric Nursing degree and, with the
help of Julie (our lead teacher) I decided to open my own swim school…AquaStars!
I love teaching children how to swim. Seeing them progress each week from being
beginners in armbands, to finally being able to swim independently learning the
skills and techniques that allow them to become confident, competent swimmers
and most importantly be safe in the water is so rewarding.
