I love speaking and presenting before an audience, seeing it as an opportunity
to both influence and change lives. However, I totally understand that not
everyone shares my passion. In fact, I understands that many hate being centre
stage, feel ill-equipped or unqualified to stand before an audience and that,
based on research, may even fear public speaking more than they fear death. I
understand it because I too was once like that. Growing up as a shy teenager who
did not know how to hold a conversation and lacked confidence in my own ability,
I hated speaking in public. In fact, many sleepless nights were had just over
giving a 5 minute presentation at university. The thought of speaking before an
audience terrified me, causing my heart to race coupled with the fear of messing
up on stage and being rejected by my peers.
